The rides were opening at 10:30am at one stage, correct? If so, the rides and attractions now open at 10am. Good news!

Thanks... What I was trying to say is that person A could have visited the park on Friday and reports that the ride is crap, while person B can say it's all fixed up on Saturday. I think there may be some of that going on, but of course, it's still the park's fault for not offering the same standards all week long. After all, the prices are the same. Re the fixing up of effects/theming and adding new bits, what more can you tell us?
-
Didn't I read somewhere that effects were being cutback on weekdays? Couldn't some of reports of no effects be associated with those cutbacks?

I went to Sea World not too long ago to ride Jet Rescue. The chain link fence was actually built across the train line. Looked quite odd.

Will one of the cars stay at MW? Because I know one is used in the Batman show.

Was the camp fire going?

Kain, you should go to Dracula's

If there was any changes in speed, it would be caused from the different weight of the second boat, not because they decided to turn the speed up a little.

Well, the outside building that's themed is only a very small portion. Most of it has been left a white warehouse. That's really the only bit that gets me caught up. In my opinion, I believe you can fault Superman Escape -- because in some areas, it has been let down. 10 years ago, parks went to all lengths to theme the areas leading up to their rides. (Lethal Weapon, Wild West, Dreamworld's western rides and, or course, BT) Now a-days, parks theme the inside of their rides, and even now that trend is starting to lack. I feel that Dreamworld's newest attraction though might be the beginning of a new direction for Dreamworld. Only time will tell of course.

^ Don't forget Superman Escape. I also think the entrance to HWSD is lame -- a few new signs and a paint job is pretty much all they did.

I didn't have a huge look. The fan didn't seem to stop, and the smell could be smelt from about 2 metres back. I really wish I got a picture now. And I also saw a switch for 'Main Street Spotlights' near it. I was really surprised they didn't hide that thing. Also I noticed that the noises from China Town (the cars/sirens) have been turned off.
-
Well the idea of it isn't so bad, but the way they've done it is not. I'll try and get a picture next time I go, to show you how bad (and cheaply) it sticks out. I know it's not a huge issue, but if this is the kind of things they keep doing, then the whole park is going to start looking very tacky. Although I am sure some would argue that this has happened for quite some time now.

The ice cream shop on Main Street now has a really random machine nailed just above the window. It has a small fan and it sprays like a sweet smell? I'm guessing its to entice people to get an ice cream. It's really ugly and random!

Hi guys, I got the privilege to experience Dreamworld's new laser tag arena the other day. I have to say, it has really been done quite nicely. Its theming is not over-the-top, but it's just enough to set the theme of the attraction while not looking tacky by any means. On a side note, I had a chat to CEO Noel Dempsey and he spoke a little about some things that he has been considering for DW/WWW. I won't go into detail on what he said, but some rides may get a re-theme in the future (ToT, Log Ride) and the WWW expansion will not happen for at least two years. He also told me that the mine ride was closed because of the cost to get it back up and running. He's a really friendly guy and I can safety say that Dreamworld is in very good hands, and that the future looks to be very bright for the parks.

I am really pleased with the current repairs and modification happening within the park. Last time I went (about one-two months ago) I noticed Wild West Falls had a new 'camp fire' effect with fog that spread through to the whole ghost town section -- something I have never seen before. I also noticed the spider in SDSC (I did read about it quite some time ago though) and the walls around HWSD near Intensity being painted and decorated. Not to mention the facades near the other entrance of the show stage being redone. I can't wait to see what else will be redone... I am hopeful that I can ride Superman this weekend. I would be interested to know if anything has been changed or updated on that ride. I will take some pictures this weekend to showcase any other changes happening. That's if I can make it to the park... - Ash

www.sixflagsgreataustralia.com was a joke qldtaw. --- Now you said a small B&M was $30-40 million. Even in AUD that's incorrect. So let's say $14 million USD. That's only $20,745,200 AUD.

Hmmmm... I guess guys. What is the slide called that you are in an enclosed tube and it drops you out near vertical?
-
I didn't have any problem with it. The only 'issue' I came across was that the smoke impacted on any pictures I took. I am really excited to see this show in a years time. Does anyone know if phase two has been completed or what it involves?
-
Well... I'll give you Surfrider. But I wouldn't class Kamikaze and Jet Streams as something really thrilling. I should have said extreme. In fact not many are IMO. I'd like to see Wet'n'Wild get something that you'd class as an extreme waterslide.
-
If someone says they're going then I think they shouldn't come back. To me it's just a grab for attention. Back on-topic... I am really hoping for a new attraction. Hopefully something really thrilling. I feel Wet'n'Wild has had a lack of these lately.

That's pretty sweet. It really makes me wonder how cool it would of been if they themed right to the end of the launch track and have random things 'falling' as you launch. Ah well... still, great video.

Have you seen it?

Here's another video I found on YouTube. Showing more stunts http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=T-keoWAnSBM

^ I know exactly how you feel. I just rang the park. They don't know when it will reopen.

Yup, it's in the video I posted.
