Seaworlds New Kids Area Announced

Every coaster credit counts amirite? -
Is this the guy I saw alone, kissing the Gargoyles in the scooby doo queue yesterday? Anyway, I saw test dummies sitting in one Green Lantern train yesterday. I got a photo but I'm not sure if it's worth posting because you can't see the wheels of the train.

This is all good news for my trip up in early July. Hope this stuff continues throughout the whole holiday period. Who has a good idea on what the crowds will be like on weekdays in 2 weeks' time? I've been to MW on Saturdays during summer and gotten double to triple rides on everything, but that was in a group of 2 and we were both enthusiasts. This time I'm going with 5 GP casuals and I think it'll take a lot longer to get anywhere.

What American Park do YOu most want to visit?
AllegroCrab replied to POP's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Cedar Point has always been a standout for me, all of those coasters in that space. SFMM is another must for this reason. I love the look of the park at Busch Gardens TB and the dark rides at Universal Studios. King's Island has always appealed to me as well, I love the setting and there are some great looking rides there. More recently, people's descriptions of Dollywood have seriously gotten me interested. Shame all these good parks are spread out all over the place. It seems multiple trips are in order. -
Luna Park Sydney- Future rides and attractions

I have a feeling an El Loco wouldn't quite fit anywhere, but I would be very happy to see one if they could fit it in. A Boomerang? Not so much. Wouldn't it be really hard to find one that isn't on its last legs? They could never install one and be guaranteed that it'll run for more than 5 years. Perhaps a similar style of shuttle coaster could be appropriate. How big are Intamin's impulse coasters? Wicked Twister is 206m length in total. Subtract its height (66m) twice and it is approximately 74m along the ground. It's actually a bit longer than this due to the curvature of the transition between horizontal and vertical. This is the biggest of all of the impulse coasters, and they can get smaller with tighter turns, making it more forceful than Wicked Twister. This photo is of Possessed at Dorney park & Wildwater Kingdom, which is 215m long, subtract its height of 55m twice and it is approximately 105m long. Steel Venom at Valleyfair is 190m long and 56m high. Giving it a 78m long footprint. All of these rides travel faster than 100km/h (even though Intamin's website says Max Speed is "up to 100km/h" So clearly this ride is quite flexible and could be custom fitted for Luna Park depending on whether they want a tall and forceful, small and forceful, tall and not as forceful or short and not as forceful. Having had a quick look at google earth, these rides are pretty massive, and Luna Park is a tiny place. It'd definitely fit if you got rid of the entire midway and made people walk underground Food for thought anyhoo. As for flat rides, I LOVE the idea of an Intamin half-pipe. A SurfRider clone would be mad. I don't think that ride gets enough credit. -
Seeing all of these launched Macks makes me think of how good one of these would be at one of our parks.

Luna Park Sydney- Future rides and attractions

An Iron Shark clone or similar would be incredible. I'd rather see a eurofighter than a free spin or sky rocket II. The eurofighter looks and rides like a classic roller coaster, but the other two seem to be sacrificing something to fit into that small space. That said, the other two are still highly appropriate and viable options. It won't stop me from paying to ride them multiple times. -
Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space

And then put a B&M Floorless in the old Justice League space at MW? -
Cairns Adventure Waters - 2016 opening. Construction begins.

Water parks are fun and all, and a great place to go to cool off, but I definitely enjoy 'proper' rides more than water slides. Taller, faster, bigger forces, more comfortable seating, safer, longer, no standing wet and cold at the top of a windy tower. I also prefer theme parks to water parks because they are just a nicer place to be. Themed attractions, shows, dark rides Well that, and I'm a pale, skinny little bugger as well, unlike all the kids up in Queensland! -
Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space
AllegroCrab replied to Cooper Olsen's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Is there any way I can answer this question without using the words B&M, Looping, Inverted, Twisted, Stand Up, Flying, Floorless, Wingrider, Hyper or Giga? Seriously though, something like Manta at Sea World San Diego (not Orlando) couldn't be too far fetched. Perhaps it's too similar to Jet Rescue, but you could spice it up (and cut costs) by having the ride shorter (without the second launch) and with inversions, a bit of a replacement for Sea Viper's loop and corkscrews. This isn't a foreign concept for Mack Rides either - checking out Projekt Helix - https://youtu.be/jDlMGY8nDPI?t=31 - This ride has two launches, 7 inversions, and a really unique layout. They're very likely to be able to accomodate for SW's price and space restrictions while still making a ride that packs a punch. Plus with previous experience building Storm, surely they would be good business candidates for another coaster addition. I don't think having two similar rides in one park is a bad thing either. Coasters with big brothers at the same park can be found all over the world. It gives people something to step up to. Another fitting coaster option would be a Euro Fighter, which is a cheaper option depending on what layout you want. Something like Abyss would set them back $15 million (I'd assume building at Sea World would cost a bit more). Putting my own personal love for coasters aside, Sea World does have a lack of a family dark ride, and a flat ride. Either of those would be appropriate. If they can do something with a good themed experience, I will be happy nonetheless. -
I wouldn't complain about a bit of back, neck or head pain after riding some rides, especially if I was repeat riding something like Goliath, pulling 4.5G on that helix. I came off Lethal Weapon with bruised ears once and I've had a bit of a sore head after riding Superman Escape all day but that's just what happens when you subject yourself to such forces over and over again. As for dizziness and nausea, this is just part of the parcel is it not? No way I would classify that as a theme park 'injury', if you just spin around on the spot for a few minutes you get dizzy and nauseous.

I'd find it hard to believe someone would go through all that trouble to imitate an Australian theme park account. What do they gain out of that?

My birthday is on my profile. And you'd be right that there isn't much life's savings to lose.

Major Rides Shut at Coast Theme Park (WBMW article)
AllegroCrab replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I can understand it would be great and all to get a discount or something when a few attractions aren't running, but I really don't expect this of any park anywhere. You pay so much more money relative to the product for everything these days, theme parks are cheap in comparison. tbh, I'd pay the full entry fee just to ride Superman Escape considering my trips up are few and far between, but that's just me. -
This is what my intuition told me. I could have worked it out myself if I went through the process of buying pseudo tickets up until I could read the T&Cs but I thought it would be easiest to ask on here. Thanks guys!

Nah, the same accident will never happen again at a Merlin park. I'd bet my life savings on that.

So I've managed to convince a bunch of friends that a trip to the Gold Coast is a good idea. I'm just wondering about some policies concerning the VIP passes. I've never had this problem myself because I can just enjoy relaxing in a theme park for the entire day, but I can imagine 4 GP teenagers getting real tired of Sea World after we've ridden Jet Rescue and Storm a few times each. There's no way I am missing out on the cred considering I haven't ridden Storm yet. I was just wondering if we can go to Sea World in the morning then use our same VIP passes for Movie World in the afternoon.

If I had friends who were interested in theme parks I wouldn't have to sit around refreshing this forum all day.

Would any of the animals at SW survive very long if they were thrown back into the open ocean and left to fend for themselves? I think tricks give these captive animals a purpose in life, something to do to earn their feed. Whether they are natural behaviours or not, I don't see why it matters as long as it isn't hurting the animals. They probably enjoy the training and performing in shows otherwise they wouldn't do tricks in the first place.

Something like this is most likely there in the first place. Who's saying that this person with a key isn't ever going to make a mistake though?

I don't even think I could name the Big 9 thrill rides without looking it up: ToT, Giant Drop, Cyclone, Claw, Wipeout, Buzz Saw, uuuuh... the other side of the Giant Drop, MDMC, that old gravitron they had called the Vortex. Ok, apparently the newer rides Pandamonium and Tail spin are still counted in this ongoing Big 9 malarkey. I thought they stopped that campaign ages ago.
