  1. My experience at Dreamworld has been that people seem to really enjoy the lower thrill cycle on Pandamonium, there always seems to be a good amount of people queueing for it.
  2. I don't think those examples are great because those rides don't fit an extreme option. But I think it would be great if other 'medium' rides had an upsize as well. Like if Road Runner went backwards or if Scooby Doo had cars that could spin, stuff along those lines. Why wouldn't you want to maximise the appeal of each ride to the broadest possible audience?
  3. Different strokes I guess. I like the Panda ride options and I actually think a non upside down Wipeout would be great as well!
  4. Yes, sorry I was only talking about the 3 linked parks. DW is clearly the leader for kids aged 0 - 10 in terms of quantity.
  5. I guess I find it strange because as a Dad who has taken kids to the parks every year for almost a decade and seen the experience from 0 - 10 y.o I have always found WNW to be the park with the most entertainment for the kids, followed by SeaWorld with Movie World ok until about 8-9 when it became a few hour visit.
  6. I don't really understand this either, having never seen the Sydney park. My youngest child is 7 and she can ride everything at WNW already I think, needing an adult on several. What is the point of building 'mini' versions of the same rides when kids can go on them anyway?
  7. In regards to Movieworld, I'm more referring to the fact that many people point out the glaring weakness in the park for the 'too old for Looney Tunes, not old enough for thrill rides' market and they respond by replacing a great family ride with a questionable choice, as well as talking about other options that don't really address this at all.
  8. I know it's tongue in cheek stuff but I think Dreamworld deserves a lot of credit for seemingly listening and responding to what the punters are saying lately. The contrast to Movieworld is stark.
  9. I know we can't say much about the surveys but the last couple really have me wondering if Movie World has lost the plot.
  10. I saw that photo online but I thought it was a countdown to the ride opening. 7 hours plus wait is unbelievable!
  11. Could say Storm is a good example of this too. But I guess that's trickier in MovieWorld where the location more or less requires Movie/TV themes.
  12. I think a ride themed to a movie/TV show only works if it is an ongoing thing like the super heroes, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo etc.... otherwise it becomes irrelevant. Even WWF looks silly with the Wild Wild West Movie stuff, even though it isn't actually themed to the movie. The Matrix was what 15 -20 years ago now? so a large % of park visitors would probably not have seen it. Vs a timeless thing like Lego (and there will no doubt be more movies made) I think a Matrix theme just doesn't make sense.
  13. Can we though? After all the animals talked about aren't just ones from the local pet shop and not the sort of thing you can chuck a free to good home ad in the Trading Post once you no longer want them. Surely the animal aspect would have required some long term planning and organising and would be hard to just abandon?
  14. We try and schedule our trips for the early weeks of school terms and find queues are very minimal across all the parks.
  15. Never knew bricks went flying when the car went through before now, even after seeing it live many, many times. Nice pics.
  16. I'm curious as to why Wild is gone in some people's eyes? After all the Mini Cars thing was announced then went quiet and went through a will it or won't it period. Isn't Wild following a similar trail?
  17. When I heard about this attraction I feared it would be bad but having now seen glimpses I have hugely underestimated just how woeful it is. Such a waste.
  18. And don't go in the spas until last or you are doomed!
  19. Been lots of time in Winter. Calypso Beach is always shut but no big loss. Slides are quite rideable but where the cold gets you is when you get out and move to the next one, especially the stairs so take a towel to dry off straight after the slide. Our best solution was when we had a non-rider who was prepared to climb each ride and collect towels we had wrapped in while transiting. If you have someone fit and keen enough to climb up and down that is a good way to go!
  20. Hopefully the singer finds a key by the time the show starts.
  21. It needs to be restructured to offer more options to 'mid' age kids. I have a 7 and 9 year old and at Movie World they can/will go on Road Runner, Justice League, Scooby, Wild West, Dodge'ems. When you consider at Dreamworld they can/will go on Dodge Ems, Rapid River, Flume, MDMC, Shockwave, Madagascar, Panda, Reef Diver (when it was there), Vintage Cars, Gingerbread Flyer and whatever the one with the circle of swing seats is called it is a much better day for them there. I know to the aficionado the DW rides may not stand up quality wise but I reckon every family with kids aged under 12 would feel they had better value for money at Dreamworld. I would think that should be a major concern for MW.
  22. Is it that strict? I've never been on Superman but I always thought 'loose items' meant things like bags and hats etc, not thing in pockets. Do they pat you down before you ride?
