  1. My eyes. So no, I don’t have any evidence, but from my experiences when visiting the park at times of the day the animal area can have just as many people if not more as in tiger island. And I’m not saying through shows, but tiger island isn’t a massive area compared to the wildlife area.
  2. It’s SWs turn for ridiculous amount of ride closures. Storm, Jet Rescue, Trident & Vortex all currently closed. This only leaves Leviathan, so hopefully that doesn’t go down as well.
  3. The whole animal area is still just as popular as tiger island (even for the non-international tourists). I think it’s a great way to break up your (full day) visit to the park. It offers something different to the other parks and as the park are pushing more towards being family focused, it’s perfect for that demographic. They’ve got plenty of other land for plenty more rides.
  4. This maybe so, but look how poorly that land has turned out. The past year they’ve repairing the damaged statues and theming, but otherwise it’s been looking very tired. I’d argue when Wild West first opened that was the highest standard Movie World had set for a land. Villains was very well done, but it wasn’t as immersive as Wild West
  5. I can already see how hot that tunnel is going to be in the summer. But the concept artwork doesn’t make that entrance look that bad compared to how it’s currently looking on site.
  6. After temporarily closing in 2021 due to report of rides being injured by coaster, it has confirmed today that Do-Dodonpa at Fuji-Q in Japan has permanently closed. For those who don’t know, this was the fastest accelerating launch coaster in the world reaching 180km/h in just 1.56 seconds. It’s sad to see such a unique and impressive coaster close. Did anyone on here ever get to ride it and if so, what was that launch and the whole coaster like?
  7. There appears to be a couple more track pieces left to be installed for the suspended coaster
  8. Correct, in 2020 it was removed, stripped, repainted, reinstalled, remained closed for two years and then removed again, stripped, repainted and reinstalled at a different park.
  9. I’m also over 6ft and don’t find it so unbelievably rough that I don’t ride it anymore. As Gold Coaster, it’s definitely the smoothest it’s ever been, but it’s also definitely not the smoothest coaster in the country (I see the moto coaster as an SBNO because for me that ride is unbearably uncomfortable). I won’t deny it does take up a lot more room, especially the overly sized queue to get to the ride. However, I love the interaction the coaster has with WWW and if this coaster were to ever close, I can’t see a new coaster replacing it. Not saying it can’t be don with a custom layout, but with the Exhibition Centre, slide tower and WWW pathways, there are a lot of obstacles. Removing the tunnel definitely freed up some land, but they’ve still kept that massive queue and station building
  10. Not sure when this happened, but it appears the three tiers of Dreamworld annual passes have increased in price. With the Saver Pass $129, Value Pass $139 and the Locals Pass $149. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/tickets
  11. So do I, but it does look nicely presented, good amount of gardens around the queue and it’s another ride to add the parks list; right now that’s what they need. That doesn’t excuse the fact that it’s basically the same effort as Green Lantern had. And those two small shade sales aren’t going to do anything for protecting guests during summer (they obviously didn’t learn from their mistakes with Green Lantern either)
  12. That’s actually disgusting to see the park has come to that. Sort your shit out Village.
  13. From what I have found, in 2022 (the events first year) they had 18 stalls, in 2023 they had 17 and this year there is 10. If there night markets are also struggling to get external food trucks, maybe the park are having issues getting to be a part of the parks events.; hence the dip in food offerings.
  14. But that would mean people know about it, so then they wouldn’t visit until it reopens, which means they loose revenue. When Scooby first closed, it was listed within the attraction maintenance schedule, but after a few months it was removed and place below as its own thing.
  15. To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe this new shed will house all of those temporary BOH facilities, opening up that former Sea Viper site for future expansion. And if it’s true that SW are using MW’s maintenance facilities for some of their attraction maintenance, maybe that will free up some space for MW to get on top their stuff (but all of that could be completely wrong and they are continuing to make poor decisions)
  16. The post states: Construction is underway for the year-round alpine coaster, and it's set to open this winter! ❄️⛷ It will be 1.5km long, reaching speeds of up to 40km/h and riders will travel along a mix of uphill and downhill tracks featuring a tunnel, bridges and circles that traverse the alpine environment. And here are the photos shared
  17. I just don't understand the logic of using such a prime/guest accessible area of land within a park that is already short of land. The area (red), directly links to Nickelodeon Land and New Atlantis and would be perfect for another major attraction, or several smaller rides. In recent years they've really taken over this whole reclaimed land/Sea Viper site for just BOH stuff, so why couldn't they use the most northern area (blue) so it's tucked away in a corner that won't allow for much more anyways? Surely this shed can't be so critical to the park that it can't be located 100 metres away from Leviathan. And to make matters worse, they haven't alligned the shed with anything. It's be positioned facing north, when everything else around it is on varying angles, why not allign it with something to at least use this land a bit better. It makes this entire area of the park unusable for expansion. They've taken a 1600m2 area (red area) and placed a 450m2 slab in it, leaving 1150m2 of unusable space (unless they want to add more BOH area that's visable to guests).
  18. Neither, but I feel that (much like many other things Village have done recently), they respond to things now and don’t think about the future and the impacts it will have
  19. They also had this response to make it ‘feel’ more personal
  20. This is the parks response to someone’s comment about the lack of open rides
  21. @DaptoFunlandGuyinteresting. It’s been a few months since I last went, but it’s a shame to hear it’s not as good as it used to be. I was hoping they would’ve simply made the markets better with the addition of rides on top of what they already had. Have the crowd levels dropped to?
  22. The event page was on the website last week and it did say it was returning in 2024. I am both surprised and not surprised at the same time if it’s not returning. The event was very popular, but it was also originally created as a trial for the night markets. And since the night markets are doing very well, they probably don’t feel the need for the overlap. Hopefully they have a new event to replace it during the Easter holidays, so I’m excited to see what they come up with.
