  1. All Village properties will be reopening on Wednesday, however Paradise Country will remain closed until further notice as they continue the clean up.
  2. Village parks have delayed their reopening until Wednesday
  3. Dreamworld have also confirmed they’ll be closed this weekend and will make an announcement on Sunday about when they’ll reopen
  4. For everyone's reference, these are the tie down points
  5. That SW flooding map looks like it was based on the parks design 20 years ago when the lake continued up the eastern half of the park before it was all filled in
  6. @Coppertine you’ll need to ask @Luke Costello to make that happen!
  7. That would be the case. Around the rides base 4-6 anchor points were constructed with the land to secure the tower in an event like this.
  8. Same, but I’d say that weather event had more of an impact on DW as it destroyed one of their attractions (Vintage Cars) and they had the wildlife and Tiger Island closed for a week.
  9. As of 5pm 3rd March, the Village Roadshow Theme Parks have confirmed all of their venues will be closed from Wednesday to Friday (at this stage), in preparation for Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
  10. @omega237 pretty much any one of them. It would be nice to have a new well themed ride at Movie World again.
  11. It’s listed on their website, so id assume it’s still available. https://www.hussrides.com/en/family-rides/topple-tower/ But to my knowledge they are incredibly unreliable and there aren’t many left operating
  12. If it did, as you say it wouldn’t be any time soon because Bug Run is less than 10 years old
  13. @Coppertine if that’s the case, their website is lying!
  14. The Ferris Wheel has also officially retired at the park, hence why it has fencing around it, but it has a very small footprint and definitely won’t fit a coaster. We are also still waiting on their Aerobat to open, which has been under construction for 18 months now. If a coaster were to be opening, considering no construction has started it wouldn’t be opening until 2027 at the earliest (based on the parks recent track record).
  15. Last week Coast Entertainment had their 1H25 Results Presentation, which can be seen here: https://announcements.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20250221/pdf/06fs1nwvq8dkh4.pdf This presentation didn’t hint at anything new that we don’t already know about, but to summarise the presentation… Dreamworld is starting to do well. Some key points: - Ticket sales increased by 7.1% compared to prior year and is the highest sales since 1H16. - Visitation up 10.8% compared to prior period. - Operating revenue up almost 10% compared to prior year. - Annual Pass sales up 107% compared to 1H17. - Their Global Review Index is up 87.7, compared to VRTP which dropped to 80.0 - King Claw is expected to cost $13-14 million (The Claw cost $6 million, but adjusting for inflation is about $10 million).
  16. Movie World are currently constructing a new building behind HSD and is visible when within Kids WB. I’d imagine this would be for BOH storage or maintenance. Photos by @Ogre
  17. It’s to my understanding the rides closed for a few days so they can install some more theming and commission some effects. The gemstone is starting to look better And they’ve painted the metal backing for the waterfall so it blends in

  19. VRTP are now offering an annual pass for non-locals that is essentially their Lite One Pass. It’s $199 (which is the same price as their 7 day pass, and $20 cheaper than a 14 day pass). They say it is only for a limited time though: https://themeparks.com.au/tickets/annual-adventure-pass Could this be their response to One Passes not selling as well because locals are fed up with the parks (maintenance, long wait times, too expensive, etc.)?
