  1. I was scared of the big thrill rides for a long time, and i mean a long time. So most of my stories comes from my dad putting me on rides that i was utterly terrified of. This was back when my favourite rides were Mick Doohan's Motocoaster and Shockwave. I remember starting to do research on these rides that i was terrified of, which by research i mean Wikipedia articles. I was starting to come out of my shell a bit, so i decided to brave the Giant Drop. I was instantly terrified after riding and immediately never wanted to get back on another big ride again. A similar story happened with the Batwing Spaceshot, except i was forced onto the ride by my father on my second-ever trip to Movie World. I remember just being terrified, it felt so high up. I went on the ride late last year for an end of school trip, i have never been more underwhelmed. My first ride of Superman was interesting, i hugged my dad and had my eyes shut throughout the queue. Then we got back row, and i thought it wasn't that bad at first. I had already seen the Theme Park Review pov, so i was just pointing out the stuff like the waterfalls and cop cars to my father. Then we launched... the rest of the experience is a blur. I had my eyes closed the entire time. My dad constantly tried pushing me onto the big rides, like Tower of Terror. Which i never rode, which i am a bit bummed. I was too scared when we had Dreamworld passes, and i haven't been back since 2014. There is always Magic Mountain i suppose. I remember my first time on DC Rivals fondly, i remember still feeling a bit intimated. After the ride, any fear i had of coasters just faded away. I will wrap it up with one quick stories on my experience in theme parks as a young youngster. My first ride on Bermuda Triangle scared me so much that i kept my head down the entire ride (Which seems to be a common trope.) My mother thought i fell or jumped off the boat during the ride.
  2. It was just shocking to watch the Tower of Terror go so high up the tower.
  3. The new-age Vekoma coasters have been really good from what i have seen. I would love to see more parks get a Vekoma, which is a phrase that would be laughed at a few years ago. Slowly but surely they are reversing their image of the discount coasters of the 90s.
  4. I only hope the landscaping for the new coaster is close to as good as this No Limits rendering, but that might just be wishful thinking considering the financial situation.
  5. If your going to do that, you have to go the whole way! Just paint the entire park orange!
  6. Whilst Wet and Wild is slightly being discussed. I remember going to Wet and Wild as an end of year rewards day for school, and i just remember the pain of my feet burning because of the lack of shade there was on the footpath. I haven't returned in a few years now, but if you have not added more shading to paths, or cooling it down with water or something, please do.
  7. I didn't mind it, but it might of just been an excuse for Clark to stand heroically on top of Storm.
  8. When construction of the new coaster starts, i think some sort of time-lapse might be cool to watch.
  9. Not to beat a dead horse. But you just did it again.
  10. Do you think they will ever move the movie studio to somewhere else in order to give Movie World extra land? Just a thought. Like i'm talking in the future, but with Village trying to sell the park, that might not work out.
  11. Ocean Parade is already packed with rides, lets give other parts of the park attention. Also, Ocean Parade seems to already be filled on space, be tough to fit in a proper water attraction.
  12. Maybe he should take a indefinite break, not trying to be mean. But he is going to be exposed to stuff like this, since he is dealing with people who are a bit older and you are expected to act kind of like an adult here. I joined these forums when i was quite young, i was 13. Looking back at my older messages, i was not ready to contribute to a community like this. Being younger and having a level of learning disabilities is only a recipe of disaster.
  13. Lets be honest with ourselves, why would we want it? As i said, they are the things of the 90s and are incredibly outdated. There are so much better coaster types that we could add that would be much more thrilling attractions that would not only grab the attention of the public but also people from oversees. Also, this is modern-day Dreamworld, theming isn't the most important thing anymore. If we were to get a boomerang it would be a handy down and just placed somewhere with zero care. Vekoma wants to move away from the image, they do not even make that arrow-stolen track anymore for their newer coasters. I never thought i would have to defend my position on not wanting a Vekoma boomerang. It would honestly be a joke, and make our up and coming industry look like one too.
  14. A boomerang of that kind in my opinion is a step back for the overall industry, they are outdated and speak cheap 90s investments. A modern Vekoma family boomerang might be a good idea, but that isn't the most crowd drawing attraction.
  15. Just wanted to say, i really appreciate people who do this. For people who seriously want to make Wikipedia as accurate as possible, it would take quite a bit of your own time just doing it. So thank you.
  16. Does Vekoma even make that style of boomerang anymore? Last i remember they were working hard to get as far away from that brand image as possible. Something like the Lech Coaster or even @Jobe's idea would work well.
  17. "Theme Park Worldwide on Youtube!" Also, just wanted to take this opportunity to express that how much does it suck that this will forever be the legacy of the ride. The ride back when i went always had the longest queue in the park, and i had a lot of fun on it. It is a bit of a scary feeling that the ride that i have been on countless times ended with the deaths of four unfortunate people.
  18. I actually really miss the name Cyclone, its still the name i call the ride i suppose.
  19. I originally popped the question in a different chat, but it probably does deserve its own thread. Will we ever see a new rapids ride here in Australia? If so, when?
  20. I don't know if this is the place to discuss this, i really didn't want to start up a whole new thread. But do you think Australia will ever see a new rapids ride? If so, when will it be?
