  1. At the end of the Jobkeeper program it is a requirement for ALL companies to employ that employee for at least 12 months after the program ending. This includes offering normal hours of employment. Yes they can take up voluntary redundancy if the employee agrees to it.
  2. 1. Firework company probably has to Re-certify equipment due to months without use. 2. All rides will probably see this In the coming days. Staff will need to be refreshed on their operating procedures. Due to months of downtime, each ride may have to go through the 100 dispatch testing again. I remember storm coaster was going nonstop for 9 days before SeaWorld reopening.
  3. Wet’n’wild would be a difficult one to start over. As I work at an aquatic facility over the period we had to dump all of our water. When we had a date pools were then refilled with fresh water. However the pumps have to run for at least 8-10 hours a day and then it takes about 2-3 weeks to get the water stable. It is a very fine art to get the water levels stable from scratch.
  4. Don’t forget the VRTP app was always coming, just delayed because of COVID. It is much like Disney. The normal ques will be open for everyone (physical distancing in place). However everyone will be able to reserve a spot in a virtual que as well. The virtual que is free just like Disney. Once you have ridden the attraction or a time limit you can then reserve your next virtual que. Virtual Que guest will go down the fast track lines and have their QR code scanned by the station attendant before admission on an attraction.
  5. I think someone had a lot of time during there ISO... Lots of NL2 gaming happening
  6. I would think that new models would be cheaper because a business doesn't really know if a product is successful until someone tries it. As they start to produce more makes of the model they probably would be more expansive than the original because design features are probably tweaked. Example - Mack spinning extreme spin coaster at silver dollar city (time traveler) cost 26.5m USD. the new model being built a plopsaland I would estimate to cost at least $5m more. remember when ARROW tried to do prototypes they significantly discounted the person who bought it because the outcome was unknown. once the outcome is known and if it is successful they will jack the price up to profit from their previous loss on the prototype and try to make a small profit from it.
  7. With the people who are talking about budget cuts I would assume you are most likely incorrect. Most of these projects would of fully been paid for way before the covid19 issue happened. things that may get budget cuts within the park could be a new coat of paint on a handrail or some kind of project that has not already started.
  8. I don't think the Dreamworld is going to go near a water ride (rapids, logride, boat) for a very long time.. maybe some kind of water coaster like Pulsar or StormCoaster could be possible.
  9. The majority of VRTP staff who are on the jobkeeper payments will resume work this week. Most will be on a minimum of 4 shifts per week, with management ensuring they use every dollar of the payment. Last week Raging Waters Sydney staff returned to work as well completing cleaning, painting and training duties.
  10. Does anyone know if the track and supports coming directly from mack or are they being shipped from whoever the coaster was originally destined for?
  11. WOW THAT IS SO ILLEGAL IT AINT FUNNY Dreamworld could sue and become financially stable again🤔
  12. Hi @Flynn_Smith, Here are the CASA Regulations. Dreamworld / White Water World * As long as you launch from public land you are able to fly the drone over dreamworld. * No higher than 150ft or 45m * If recreational and no license you must have the UAV within eye sight. * Dreamworld Tower is classified as a local landmark and you must keep a 500m radius around it. Movie World * As long as you launch from public land you are able to fly the drone over Movieworld. * No higher than 150ft or 45m * If recreational and no license you must have the UAV within eye sight. * Movieworld borders a no fly zone so be careful where you fly! Wet'n'Wild * As long as you launch from public land you are able to fly the drone over Wet'n'Wild. * No higher than 150ft or 45m * If recreational and no license you must have the UAV within eye sight. * VFR aircraft operate within the airspace so you also need to be on the lookout and give aircraft right of way. SeaWorld * Personally I would not fly there * The app has not been updated since the new heli port was built * Below is the VTC Chart for pilots which gives most a clear indication if you know how to read it. * In other words, DO NOT FLY THERE!!! In regards to when the parks are operating, you must keep 150m away from the operational equipment (i.e. the rides).
  13. So it seems mack rides has developed a new concept for log flumes, rapid rides, and any other type of water attraction. This might be how we see the return of the log flume at Dreamworld or SeaWorld??? Or even a Jurassic Park style of ride on the Gold Coast?
  14. Will we see the HWSW be rebranded into “The Goldcoaster”.... only time will tell🤔 Is the new unnamed multi launch coaster going to be called “Hiss-Teria” or “Steel Taipan”???
  15. Checked out SeaWorld yesterday. Due to the gusty winds both jet rescue and storm coaster were having a lot of downtime. The vortex site is still having the pilons installed. the shaded seating area at jet rescue has been removed with an extended que almost finished construction. Storm coasters theming has been removed! As you enter the building, all the collapsed shelving and boxes are gone. There is now a new concrete pad that extends from the que line to the edge of the track. Appears to also be a new extended que as per the chalk markings on the ground. Sky flyer is currently not down for maintenance but yesterday it seemed it was being pulled apart with scaffolding up around it and missing pieces.?
  16. At Movieworld yesterday and hmm. Wild West has got 2 new op booths. These booths are now at the first turn table and at the bottom of the second lift hill. Really noticeable with the larg pieces of glass cut into the rusty shed. Anyone know how long they have been there. You could see the operators in both booths the entire day.
  17. From the manufacturer of our new woodie, a concept train is on show at IAAPA. Could it be our new trains??? P.s photos are not mine
  18. the pathway is getting the new environmental flooring. they are square tiles that look like grates, made from recycled plastics. it is in the up and down part linking SSS and Corroboree (above the cassowaries).
  19. Just announced the Slide Wheel will be joining the lineup of water slides at WNW GC hopefully by summer holidays 2019/2020
  20. Little disappointed... He could of bought 50,000+ picnic tables with umbrellas in them. Dam where will I sit?
  21. Sky Voyager was planned for opening in December 2018 but is still yet to open and Ardent Chairman Gary Weiss was conspicuously vague about when this attraction will finally launch. Dreamworld have gone completely dark on the ride with no new information provided since December. For the six months to 25 December 2018 Dreamworld posted $12.4 million in losses off the back of $34.4 million in revenue, down marginally on $34.7 million for the corresponding period last year. They spent a further $17.4 million on development capital expenditure at Dreamworld in the six month period – costs largely associated with Sky Voyager. They do however have high hopes for the attraction based on supposed "pent-up demand" for the attraction. There are currently 14 relevant post on Instagram for #skyvoyager. Dreamworld are turning to "capital-light entertainment and events" instead of the major attractions they had previously announced or hinted at. Dreamworld has talked a multi-million dollar lazy river, a new roller-coaster-in-a-shed to replace Eureka Mounain, an amphitheatre has commenced construction in the former footprint of Thunder River Rapids and there are many other long-mooted attractions such as a revitalised Motocoaster. "I think it's fair to the say Dreamworld haven't really engaged [the local market] with events and activities," said Dreamworld CEO John Osborne. Competitors Village Roadshow Theme Parks run a successful calendar of events geared at locals including Fright Nights, White Christmas, Carnivale and Super Heroes & Super-Villains. In the months after the Thunder River Rapids accident Dreamworld rebranded their Screamworld night events as Park After Dark and ran a series of them before they were scrapped completely, suggesting that they never delivered the expected financial outcome. There is no apparent succession plan for the impending permanent removal of Wipeout or Tower of Terror II, two 20+ year old attractions of questionable reliability and with limited remaining lifespan. Mr Osborne talked about how he sees potential for Dreamworld to be a world-class leisure precinct, but with no capital expenditure on the horizon and cost cutting now rampant there's little evidence to suggest that this will ever happen. "We've put in place an annual expense reduction that will reduce expenses by $5 million each year," said Mr Osborne. The newly appointed CEO believes that Dreamworld can deliver this world-class theme park experience "on a much smaller footprint", with eyes firmly on excess and under-utilised land for non-theme park redevelopment. With attendance slumped yet again, $20-odd million sunk into a new attraction that is simply not swaying the public, and a retreat from all future capital expenditure, Dreamworld have gone from having a bad plan – hinged on attractions like simulators and lazy rivers that simply can't captivate the wider public or change Dreamworld's narrative – to having no plan at all. hmm. well, who is right and who is wrong??? Dreamworld (Ardent) or Parkz??
