Topgolf Gold Coast Construction
Brad2912 replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
True, but it is a pretty big mistake to make if you've signed some sort of confidentiality agreement. Either way, I believe if information is made public even by mistake, providing its not a matter of national security, you can't retrospectively make it confidential once it's in a public arena. Obviously if VRTP contacts Richard and says hey this shouldn't be seen, i'd expect him and be happy for him to click 'delete post'- 499 replies

just if anyone is wanting to know the source to validate it is public.. you can register for a free basic account on TenderOnline which gives limited access to certain tenders in the industry. Most, including the hypercoaster, documents are locked and require email approval to access. In this instance, whilst one of the companies has it locked, the other doesnt and you can access site plans, building plans etc etc. Interesting site to find lots of info on (not just theme parks!) as i've found today! Those with a keen eye will also notice the thick black line indicating an access point to the "future development area" just by the northern end of the Top Golf building- 499 replies

Well they are obtained through a tendering website, but anyone can access and view them if they know where to look. You don't need to to prove industry association or membership to access them..- 499 replies

So... I have stumbled upon the final plans etc etc. Now given I've come across these through public access channels only, with only a moderate amount of investigation, would you guys be happy for me to post them, being they are publicly available if you know where to look??? *should specify i am wanting the ok from @Richard or one of the other site leaders/admins before I'd consider posting as wouldn't want to put the forum in the shite, or have VTP offside with us at all*- 499 replies

I believe that Paul was under the impression that the Storm boats are nuclear powered and any collision would have led to a nuclear detonation. With China ruling it an act of war against their camera happy citizens, the world would plummet into a nuclear firefight and in turn a barren wasteland. One minute your sitting in boat stopped at the base of a lift hill, the next minute, 6 billion dead.

Also known as "Watercoaster stops in the rain, passengers horrified they got wet". PASSENGERS on the Storm Coaster ride at Sea World were stuck for about 15 minutes in what the theme park have called a “routine ride stoppage”. The incident occurred around 11.30am at the base of the ride’s incline. About 15 minutes later, Sea World staff members removed the passengers from the eight-seater carriage, offering them bottles of water and umbrellas according to an eye witness named Paul. The Victorian holiday-maker said he was on the ride with his family five minutes earlier when a similar situation occurred. “We were on the Storm Coast just before and it stopped in exactly the same place, just before the incline,” Paul said. “It was only about 15 or 20 seconds but the other carriage was coming up behind us and my kids were screaming ‘stop the ride’, they were beside themselves. “My daughter is still in tears now ... she had a panic attack. “I just wonder what would have happened if the conveyor belt hadn’t caught up and our carriages collided. “I’ve been on this ride several times and this has never happened, it didn’t feel very routine.” Meet Paul. Paul wanted his name in the paper. Paul is a muppet.

It would sense for it to be the long touted 'lake side precinct', but I'm not sure where that is all at these days. There has been no movement or noise (from what I've heard) about Lakeside since Top Golf was announced which makes me wonder if TG is taking up most of the parcel they had put aside for it. As Alex stated, for the hotel to be a true destination there needs to be some dining options, so whether that's a city walk/Downtown Disney style area, albeit smaller, who knows.- 30 replies

Is the fruit named after the colour, or the colour named after the fruit? -
Yes. You could have, that one never closed. Kirra closed for a few months last year but reopened due to demand. Apparently Pizza Hut is considering a new roll out of eat-in's in coming years as part of a new strategy

I wasn't comparing the quality of what is on offer at the Tiger Dinner to Sizzler or Hogs. Bazaar I would consider at the very top end of buffet (at least on the GC/Bris), so I would use that in a comparative sense. My partner and I are not wine drinkers so we'd save the dosh on bottle of wine, and I wouldn't tip someone $30 at a buffet. as I said originally, I can see the value in the DW offering, just not personally to me
-
Don't knock Sizzler, cheesy toast is the bomb...
-
Yeah, an interesting photo to accompany a caption saying you want open when you said you would..

Yep.. all in the same boats. My partner has had VRTP membership for 3 years and only been in the park twice - for 2 fright nights. Doesn't even have a membership card as she's never been during the day. I wasn't judging it as a theme park enthusiast either. I don't eat seafood so I wouldn't even consider it with the entree choice it is no doubt solid value, due largely to the drinks package i would never, and have never, spend $350 on a Meal for two. My budget doesn't run that way unfortunately. Especially when you could go to somewhere like Bazaar at QT for half that price (excluding drinks of course). I'm thankful my missus is a Hogs Breath kinda girl!

DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion
Brad2912 replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don't think $40m would be too far off the mark for a total project cost given the scale of the coaster, site prep etc -
Hard not to agree with that ^^ Fright Nights was, IMO, the most disappointing since it moved on from its early beginnings as a family event. White Christmas was a notch down too IMO, the parade has become less and less interesting with zero new additions, the lighting ceremony was non existent basically. And the more I reflect on last weekend at SW the more I realise the only enjoyment I got out of it was just the fact I was at SW at night for the first time, which was completely irrelevant to it being Carnivale
