  1. The 99% of the content is presented as speculation, not presented at fact. That's the difference
  2. I don't recall ever seeing it, though It is a flood way though, maybe you drove past after some substantial rain..
  3. Apparently a lot of people felt that using the theme of an asylum, or a VR experience in which you are 'committed' was poking fun or minimising the seriousness of mental illness... The social commentary increased and it seems as though the park bowed to the 'vocal' minority A review is personal, based on personal experience, which is altered by mood, experience, expectation vs reality. That will never be identical for 2 different people. Your comment I've quoted is ridiculous. So you have to love every movie you watch, as you can't finance & make one yourself? You have to love all the rubbish music on the radio these days, because you can't sing yourself?
  4. Sorry VR fans but I see absolutely zero point in MW building a great coaster, which by all accounts will use height & speed as key thrill factors, only to then strap something over your eyes so you can't/don't see what's going on. VR is a gimmick, just like 3D movies. I'm yet to ride a coaster that absolutely nails it, and I'm not certain it can be completely 'nailed'. Just as I'm yet to see a single movie outside of Avatar that utilises 3D to the point it actually improves the experience beyond doubt. MW won't risk their largest ever investment made on an individual attraction (rumoured, and maybe not exceeding WWF given inflation) on a gimmick, they'll stick to what is tried & true.
  5. You really think they are going to operate 2 stations, likely requiring 2 staff per station? We can't even get 2 trains running on SE off peak and you want multiple stations?
  6. And how were they injured? By the design of the maze itself? Or guests?
  7. Well actually, all maze actors do 30mins on, 30 mins off for the entire night. How many people here went through the maze that night and didn't see someone there? Could it be possible that the few people who went through and posted here afterwards just happened to go through in the 30 min 'off' periods each hour
  8. One scare actor missing for one night & we assume it's a OHS issue? Why jump to that conclusion? Is there some inside word on it? maybe the girl didn't call In sick, or got there and was too sick to work and they couldn't get hold of a replacement? Maybe they screwed up the roster and decided that scare position was the one that would miss out as most wouldn't notice it missing if they hadn't been the previous night.
  9. That's my thought.. A scare actor is missing from a scene on one night and automatically people assume the role has been removed?? I just don't feel that's the case. She less accessible that any of the scare actors that come up in your face or walk past you. I don't think undue guest interactions has anything to do with it
  10. When was the scare actor removed? She was there Friday night when I went through..
  11. Think you'll find no one said that, just that theming doesn't always make a great ride
  12. Not sure on NSW rules, but either party in Qld can apply for an extension (generally 24 months). There is a Amendment fee paid and that's really it unless there were further time-constrained stipulations to the original approval
  13. Some of the best coasters in the world have similar stations to GL. The station on those rides is merely the access point to a great ride that in those instances, Begin once you pull out of the station, as opposed to Disney where the 'ride' begins when you enter the queue line
  14. You have to spend the night in a straight jacket next to POP?
  15. Probably would have had the same problem if you lost your phone after taking the pics too...
  16. Just drove past the site (on the M1 at 110km/h so no photos..) couple of concrete pumps being used towards the front end of the development (Entertainment Rd). also, unrelated but may as well pop it here, they were working on the old Super 8 slide tower, they were painting the roof frame (either from white to blue or blue to white - sorry not familiar with its original base colour)
  17. Well you'd make a general assumption that, yes, people like the show - it's now into its 6th season in a fairly cutthroat industry that sees dozens of poorly rating shows cancelled each season. As an anthology series each season is quite different in theme and tone. ive enjoyed each season, except the last season 'Hotel' which is just couldn't get into
  18. Parks generally don't put out a press release for car park works... It was in an interview with the GCB I believe
  19. Agree Tim that an integrated resort would be amazing for tourists. I guess I'm looking at it from a locals perspective, given that's what I am. I'd like to think in 2018/19 once we have got past the launch of the new coaster that Kids offerings will be the next step. I think JDS is a great kids addition to the park, and RRR is a great kids/family coaster, but the rest of the offerings are poor/out of date. 3-4 new attractions would breathe life into that area and be a massive drawcard for families
  20. Potentially, but AOS/TG/Hotel & Whatever form the Lakeside precinct takes will still not add to a standard day out at the theme parks (well not without additional expenditure). To be honest the first step in Movieworld turning the family tide in their direction will be revamping WB kids to a level similar to Nickelodean Land at SW. They have the room to do so.
  21. And I'll counter that by the difficulty in lugging a family with young kids to 3 different theme parks, one of which is a good 30min drive away from the other 2 (if you get favourable traffic), not to mention the minimum hour it takes you to get off the Spit on a busy weekend versus parking in the one spot and having access to it all. Don't get me wrong, I love my Unlimited membership & love my coasters making MovieWorld my personal favourite park, but for convenience with a family, Dreamworld can't be beaten.
  22. DW holds the title in many people's eyes on the breadth of their offering, as discussed many times here. Not everyone goes to theme parks for coasters
