  1. Looks like they’ve started with the entrance to the turntable, photos hopefully come soon.
  2. that’s what eltororyan seems to have heard is occurring from his sources. he didn’t say the part, but he doesn’t expect it to be open anytime soon as zamp engineers it again.
  3. They definitely need better merch, but those shirts looks more like early 2000’s merch for a local laser tag place. The best reflection of what the parks need, IMO, are designs more akin to these (maybe not in exact style, but effort/level of design).
  4. I was the only non-staff member on/near the cycle, and nobody was expecting to happen, so I doubt it was purposefully triggered.
  5. Forgot to post this in the chaos that was yesterday (for me), but FotWW’s castle has begun construction, as viewable from Flash’s exit.
  6. exactly, i’m just happy (weird thing to be happy about, i know) that i got to experience a full one cause i was so close on levi opening day lol
  7. Update: Got on last ride of the night, and got evac’d lmao. Only other people on it were staff (great people running it rn btw, real enthusiastic & rather quick too), and they said that was the first stoppage of the ride they’ve had to deal with. My un/luckiness from Levi’s opening day (was also on last train, nearly got evac’d but it was able to advance to station) persists.
  8. Didn’t realise what this meant til I rocked in for the last hour of opening, they’ve actually learned from Levi & opened it for guests pre-grand opening. Actual good job, VRTP!
  9. I was thinking that lol, but thought context would be enough for it to be understood what DWF I was referring to. DF just doesn’t sound right to me, ig.
  10. Image dump from today, in some form of order: Overview of Jungle Rush’s site from Corroborree: Scaffolding/work walls have gone up around the Corroborree: Images of the (soon to be) ride building: (which, basic walls have begun to go up for) And, of Jungle Rush’s track in the carpark: Plus some images of the new Vintage Cars plot in its current state (in case you were wondering, the old one is still seemingly untouched):
  11. ‘Cause there’s no general Dreamworld Update page, and most of these qualify, non-Rivertown images/updates from today: Touch-ups are being done on the pathway between Sky Voyager & DWF. Giant Drop is running the opposite side (not the one facing ST). And (I thought this had already been posted here, but I couldn’t find it so I’ll post anyway) there’s a new sign atop the redone Churro stand.
  12. Neither of these are what occur, now that they’re majority owned by private equity. 9.9 times out of 10, all private equity wants is short-term profit, and therefore the common result of a company becoming private equity is cost-cutting & getting as much people buying as much as possible, more often than not at the expense of things such as general upkeep, customer service, and (in this case) ride reliability & cohesive ‘lands’ (why have a Superman area when we’ve got 2 plots of land nearby, ripe for IP? Why have a somewhat cohesive DC section, when black asphalt & a road sign works well enough, and there’s space elsewhere to shoehorn more DC IP into?). So it’s not park execs sitting around a marble table, nor is it a series of ‘whoopsies’. The private equity wants as much revenue from the park as possible before they flip it/it goes under, and what’s left of a park management team is accommodating that. Similar things happen in a lot of industries, I think not too long ago there was similarly anti-consumer/private equity conversation about retirement homes in the United States. And, though not the same, there’s also the Boeing story (they merged with McDonnell Douglas & allowed it’s management to overtake their own, so not exactly a private equity swooping in & trying to flip them, but it’s caused a similar outcome).
  13. Oh, so that’s why they updated the site… (new maintenance homepage) (the actual attractions that are included in their very forgiving ‘operational attractions’ counter were all in the kids’ section, bar GL, JL, & Batwing) Just saw that this was pointed out earlier, but yeah, it’s a misleading statistic at the least.
  14. to be fair, on the main Rides page it does have an ‘Under Maintenance’ banner instead of the ‘Now Open’ badge, and the same ‘Under Maintenance’ banner is at the top of the New Atlantis page.
  15. “Aquaman: Tower of Power”, coming to a Doomsday plot near you!
  16. Would ‘High Lawsuit Risk’ be in referral to actually suing due to the design of site itself, or an external issue that was influenced by the design of the site (like, being given false/hard to understand information from the site, that then led to a lawsuit)?
  17. My only guess is that they think it’s more than what it is, and want to treat it as such by waiting ‘til their ‘Opening _____’ advertising can hit the most people, regardless of how shit the park is rn & how that really hasn’t worked for them in the past.
  18. More behind-the-scenes footage/info to be released on Tuesday (From Movie World’s Insta)
  19. Definitely, it doesn’t have any track/supportd in the car park, nor any section blocked off for them, so i believe the images are from at least 2 weeks ago
  20. Tbf, that image is a preliminary image of the queue in its current, and unchanged, state. They haven’t started any work yet (apparently they don’t even have a solid plan so far, but that part is solely hearsay), so the extent of the work to be done is as of yet unknown.
  21. Yes, but that includes both directions/orientations, so having it only suitable for one seems rather backwards (mind the pun). If the addition/lack of a bumper is the limiting factor, I highly doubt it won’t have a bumper of some form on both the front and back of the train, as they’re seemingly commonplace even on trains that only run forwards. Also, the current obvious front ‘bumper’ that’s shown on the brown train mightn’t actually be the bumper, therefore not ending up present on the coaster itself.
  22. Just randomly checked Google Maps, & they’ve got updated aerial images yet again (albeit lower quality ones than NearMap). Wizard of Oz/Flash: Rivertown
  23. Again, both trains will travel in both forward & backward orientations throughout the layout, therefore it seems almost impossible that they’d somehow limit each train to only run in a single orientation/direction by design. In the case of one-train ops, they could keep either one of the 2 trains in the maintenance bay & keep the other cycling throughout the normal course, or any other iteration of the course that may (but likely wouldn’t) occur, I’d imagine without any real issue.
