  1. S&S made the trains. The wheel assembly would be very similar to other El Locos so I would say they'd also be shut.
  2. So the car isn't in a block? Surely a wheel hasn't come off but it is concerning that it didn't reach the first block considering it has plenty of pace in the first section

For a first coaster it's great! Very impressive, I don't have the patience to learn

A pretty spot on recreation has already been made but always good to have variations! Looking good so far. Few notes that may help: - Colour of the wood needs to be darker. - The first drop had a slight curve. - The second turnaround looks too high.
  5. ^ Likewise but would you expect much more from the developers of Hyper Rails? They did promise the world and it did look good in screenshots but my oh my do they need to go to UI school. I'm quietly confident in Frontier. They've developed a couple similar non-realistic theme park games but at least they were clear with their target market. I think they'll be laughing at and learning off the mistakes of RCTW
  6. I can't get over how bad the coaster track is. I get their target market probably doesn't care too much about realism but still, no banked turns in their supposed "best track editor ever" says something.
  7. Well that looks infinitely worse than RCT 3
  8. Footage of the incident. ^ Didn't love the new show but removing the bikes permanently is just a kneejerk surely. The show was a mess as it is, can't imagine what it's like now with random bits and bobs thrown at it.
  9. Many tour companies offer ticket + transfer deals that will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, or meet at a central location. I did this for Knotts Berry Farm and SFMM. I believe I went with Starline tours.
  10. Alex, 1:06-1:07 in the first video and 0:54-0:55 in the second. Should've linked the times properly
  11. While we're on the Superman topic - has anyone noticed the whooshing sound on youtube POVs during the launch? Most notably here and here. Result of the wind on the effects mic or another effect turned off? Pretty cool nonetheless.
  12. I'm surprised the Superman figures have lasted as long as they have, especially considering the issues TTD had with the theming on it's trains. Granted taller/faster etc. but you'd think Intamin would've been reluctant after the fake tires started falling off.
  13. Apologies if this has already been discussed - just a couple of Superman observations from my visit to MW last week. 1. Noticed a pretty questionable loading procedure that was severely impacting wait times (relatively quiet day, most rides 5-10 min wait - Superman 30-45 min with 1 train operation). Basically people would only be grouped and sent to the gate once the train had come into the loading station instead of inbetween cycles. This would take at least a minute while the train just sat in the station. I thought perhaps this was due to staffing but there was a different operator in the unload station. 2. Water down the stairs still isn't working (think it's been broke for months now?). Sure hope they haven't given up on it as the "oh no it's about to blow!" as you coast past some stairs is pretty underwhelming.
  14. If the actual pacing matches the animation this coaster will be phenomenal. I would've expected a heavily trimmed layout that kept the same speed throughout but this looks to get crazier as it goes on. I especially love how it ends -- they could've easily ended with a brake run and it'd still be fantastic. I really hope this turns out as good as it looks. Serious contender for best coaster ever made IMO.
  15. Well no there is no definitive proof that it is dead and buried. The (limited) advertising was pulled - this could mean that it was delayed, which the activity on the reclaimed land would mean a likely 2016 opening instead of the advertised 2015, or it was in fact cancelled.
  16. Thanks for your insight Spotty. All very interesting
  17. Well I'm not Spotty but I'd imagine Superman would have issues in high wind. It crests the top hat slowly in normal weather, wouldn't be surprised if strong enough wind could cause a rollback - unless the system auto adjusts the speed of the launch to account for the wind... Spotty??
  18. Yeah I also remember that discussion Alex. Wasn't it meant to include a go kart track or something?
  19. Guess this is a result of the ride having design/footprint/height restrictions at LPS? Even so pretty ridiculous that Arrow couldn't design something that couldn't consecutively complete the course regardless of weight/wind/whatever, no?
  20. Definitely not a game engine, they are animations. I recall an article years and years ago that was possibly linked through TPR - if I remember correctly they are (or were, may have changed now) done by a single animator.
  21. Terrible article. Their main gripe was with the hour long queues. Part of me is starting to believe that the lack of a theme park in Sydney for a number of years (and well, a lack of a truly busy park for almost 2 decades) has resulted in locals forgetting that good theme parks attract queues. I can't speak for queue management this season as I've yet to visit, but regardless - it is a brand spanking new park in a city of over 4 million and you're complaining that it's busy during the opening week of a new season during school holidays? Please.
