  1. Dreamworld are hosting a fundraising event on Saturday September 6, 6pm to 10pm. The event is for over 18s and is $199 per person and includes the below. https://facebook.com/events/s/give-for-the-wild-a-gatsby-jun/5023010051257727/
  2. Another way Dreamworld is crushing the competition: Ride inclusivity Daughter has a brace from a wrist injury, Seaworld was a blanket no for everything, even gentle rides. I am assuming its the same at Movieworld. Dreamworld uses common sense and only restricts certain rides due to intensity and/or plausibility of riding. The nurse at Dreamworld provided my daughter with a ride access pass that allows her to ride everything except ST, Giant Drop and Dodgems. Village need to step it up.
  3. For everyone else not interested in a scavenger hunt - https://www.facebook.com/share/r/16tzDxkMwe/ Staged fake scene driving down the road with person holding cardboard sign pointing at giant drop - video cuts to drone shot flying into giant drop with two people standing atop the tower. I agree it is intriguing. Interesting that GD is in focus... for whatever it is... considering it only recently completed a refurb. Let the speculation begin.
  4. Dreamworld are continuing to invest in the parks longevity with improvements and refurbishments happening across the park. All of Main Street is being refurbishment to a much more classic colour scheme. They have finally built a permanent stage after having that temporary one for several years. They will also soon be giving the roof a full refurb. The Emporium, which I believe used to be labelled as two different stores depending if you entered from Main Street or Ocean Parade, is becoming just the one larger store. It’s getting a full refurb to suit the new Dreamworld aesthetic. Currently only the Ocean Parade side is complete, but it is utilising some of the former empty space between the emporium and Lego store. The outdoor seating for Kenny’s Fried Chicken is being upgraded. The right side has been completed, so now it’s the left sides turn. There hasn’t been any recent progress on the track installation for the Dreamworld Express. I asked about this and have been assured it will soon be completing the laps again, there have just been some delays. The Fire Station has had a complete repaint. And shading has been added over some of the pathways in Dreamland.
  5. A few years ago the addition of an interactive button was added to Dreamworld’s Main Street Fire Station. Just recently the rest of the building has been given some love, with a complete repaint and the return of the fire truck. There has been a temporary white picket fence around the fire truck, but now a more permanent fence has been installed And the white fence around the Baldwin has also been replaced by the same style of permanent fence Photos by DW’s Golden Years
  6. Dreamworld has sent out a survey to all passholders. Whilst this is not surprising or anything new, it does give an insight into some of the new things DW Management have been discussing behind closed doors… I get not all of it will come to light, but they’re floating some pretty neat ideas! E.g… Collectable Pin program Earning points/credit program Bringing back Bring-a-friend discounts Big Birthday gifts or several smaller prizes Freebies for passholders Bringing back plastic cards / exclusive lanyards
  7. These school holidays, get ready to take flight! 🛫 Discover Africa is landing at Sky Voyager from 5 April—just in time for your next adventure! 🦒🌍 🕒 Africa from open–2pm 🕒 Australia from 2pm–close Soar above wild savannahs, glide past giraffes, then explore the beauty of home—all in one unforgettable ride. ————————————————————— Very happy to see some new content for SV, think it was much needed and is a great little low-cost addition to the school holiday lineup
  8. Hey did anyone notice that Dreamworld has started playing the music from Vliegende Hollander around main street. Makes me happy. For some reason I kept thinking it was Pirates of the Caribbean music and then 30 mins after I left the park I was like "oooooh I remember where that's from!". Any other new music that has popped up?
  9. Last week Coast Entertainment had their 1H25 Results Presentation, which can be seen here: https://announcements.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20250221/pdf/06fs1nwvq8dkh4.pdf This presentation didn’t hint at anything new that we don’t already know about, but to summarise the presentation… Dreamworld is starting to do well. Some key points: - Ticket sales increased by 7.1% compared to prior year and is the highest sales since 1H16. - Visitation up 10.8% compared to prior period. - Operating revenue up almost 10% compared to prior year. - Annual Pass sales up 107% compared to 1H17. - Their Global Review Index is up 87.7, compared to VRTP which dropped to 80.0 - King Claw is expected to cost $13-14 million (The Claw cost $6 million, but adjusting for inflation is about $10 million).

  13. Ok, we have run into an issue 🤦‍♂️. We can only ask 3 questions per poll. So I don't fill the forum board with 4 polls at once, every day I will post 3 categories.
  14. Gavin from Pico Play was on the latest Dane’s Theme Park Life Pod and shared there are quite a number of easter eggs scattered across Rivertown that nobody has noticed yet… Have you spotted them or any others not mentioned? On my list to see next time I’m back… The cards on the desk and the turbine joke somewhere
  15. DW really keep kicking goals with guest service and satisfaction. No one would have expected them to put on another night for free just because the weather was lousy. Kudos to Greg and the team there, absolutely setting the standard
  16. We visited on the weekend and sat down the back of Jane's for lunch, and I noticed that the old Rivertown train platform had been paved over \ levelled. Now I know asphalt isn't super difficult to remove, but the works just made it feel like it was much more permanent - they've not only pulled out the tracks, but also paved it to make it level with the station platform...? Main St station is still fenced off with temp fencing, so they at least haven't made that permanent I suppose - it just shocked me that the whole thing was paved over. I really hope they don't just keep the shuttle between main street and wildlife. I'd love to see Jungle Rush from the vantage point of the train!
  17. The first batch of attraction maintenance schedules for 2025 have been published on Dreamworld's website.
  18. G’day folks - long time no see! As some of you may know I’m the deputy editor of First Drop, the print magazine of the European Coaster Club. Our upcoming issue (going to print in the next week or two) will have a feature on Jungle Rush in it. We’re looking for more action photos to include - basically those showing moving trains full of happy people. They need to be at print resolution (so off a camera ideally, though a recent smartphone also works if you can download the high resolution originals). If we use your picture(s) we’ll happy give you a membership of our club. The most useful bit of this for those living down under is six issues of our magazine by post, though you’ll also get access to our ECC Live series where we chat with people in the industry on Zoom. Recent participants include Neil Dwyer from Six Flags Qiddiya, and Eric Bertch from Lost Island. Shout if you can help, either here or by email to richard@coaster.club. Many thanks!
  19. What is the go with Whitewater world? Zero effort is being put into the park. It's bloody summer next week and the park will not open Mon-Thurs! Slides not ready for seasonal opening! No dedicated web site! Coast Entertainment has 100% lost the plot with Whitewater World. How the f^&k do they think they can increase attendance, when they are closed more than they are open. People won't buy tickets if you're not open! Coast Entertainment get my tool of the week trophy.
  20. The listed trading hours I've found for this year, so far. Movie World: 26 Dec - 19 Jan 9:30am-6.00pm (could do better) 20 Jan - 28 Jan 9:30am-5:30pm Sea World: 26 Dec - 28 Jan 9:30am-5:00pm (shit) Wet'N'Wild 26 Dec 9:30am-6:00pm 27 Dec - 19 Jan 9:30am-7:30pm (now we're talking) 20 Jan - 28 Jan 9:30am-5:30pm Dreamworld: 26 Dec - 28 Jan 10:00am-5.00pm (shit) Whitewater World: 26 Dec - 28 Jan 10:00am-5.00pm (shit)
  21. The Gold Coast Bulletin has published an article about Randy Garfield (who previously worked at Disney and Universal) and his involvement with Dreamworld.
  22. I have been doing some research recently, and I was wondering if Dreamworld still had some of the track and a train from the ride in back of house areas. Also, if anyone has images of it's demolition (files from the og posts were so old i couldn't open it) that would be amazing.

  24. Exciting news for Big Brother Fans. A new season has been announced, it’s back on 10, and back to its original format. Live Nominations/evictions, and 24/7 livestreams from the house. the advertising is going heavy with it being back to its ‘original roots’ so it would be very interesting to see if they approach Dreamworld to be the home of the show again… would be a crazy full circle moment for them, and would bring a lot of people to the park. it would require a full rebuild, as the house is no longer there, but it could be a possibility.
