Whitewater World 2025/26 Season

Whitewater world reopens today and it seems after several years of closure the Triple Vortex will be open this season.

I also can’t find anything that says the two speed slides on Fully 6 are still closed, so maybe they’re reopening too?

The Green Room will however be closed for a little longer, but the park has been transparent on their socials and via email stating:

Our attractions will be ready for you to dive into, excluding The Green Room which will remain closed for now. Our engineering team is working on essential upgrades to the main water pumps to ensure the attraction delivers the highest standard of fun and reliability we hold.

Your safety is always our number one priority. By taking the time to get this right, we’re making sure every moment at WhiteWater World is not only exciting, but also safe and dependable.

Thank you for your understanding and get ready for an amazing season of slides, waves and water-filled adventures at WhiteWater World!

It says on the Fully 6 slides that you can “ride all 6”, so I am very keen to know if all of them have now been opened. I hope so. I love the transparency too for The Green Room. WWW still needs another slide addition but if they have got some extra slides open after being closed for several years that’s a good accomplishment.

I think having a single attraction down on opening day, due to open just a few weeks later, is a significant improvement on last season's opening. By the sounds of things its a maintenance issue, potentially beyond their control, so hardly something to come on here and shit on them about.

Agreed. Although WWW needs some TLC desperately, for what they have, they have done pretty well for this opening day. The last few opening days have seen multiple attraction closed, some for almost the whole season (I'm looking at you Triple Vortex). Tbh I didn't think Triple Vortex would open again, but they somehow managed to fix whatever was wrong with it, so props to the maintenance team honestly.

Lawsuit must’ve been resolved!

I haven’t been to the park in a couple years, but what kind of TLC does it need. They did a park would slide refurb around COVID, so all the attractions are looking pretty good and they’ve finally removed the Wedgie.

I feel like it needs another repaint at least, as some slides like BRO are starting to fade again. They also need another slide or area, as we haven't had a major upgrade since FULLY FINALLY 6

Also forgot to mention the competition. WNW has opened a new slide complex and have a wider range of slides. Granted, they have lost AquaLoop and Surfrider, but my point still stands. They have more to do.

WWW had the same excuse last year for The Bro.

"The Bro is having problems with the main circulating pumps with the required pressure not high enough to run the slides"

@HarryHeHe8it doesn't matter how many coats of paint they add.  WWW is old & tired.  WWW hasn't opened a new slide for 6 years and 71% of WWW attraction are over 19 years old.

I have it on good authority that that was a legitimate issue. Doesn't mean it can't happen twice.

And still it's my preferred waterpark...

As for attraction age - 47% of WnW is older than WWW:

  • White Water Mountain's first incarnation (now River Rapids) is over 40 years old. Replaced fibreglass 18 years ago, but essentially the same attraction (including the foot-shredding pebble-crete splashdown pool)
  • Giant Wave Pool is over 40 years old
  • Calypso beach is 28 years old
  • Aqua Racer's first incarnation is 28 years old. More recently replaced fibreglass and timing system but essentially the same attraction
  • Whirlpool Springs is 23 years old
  • Mammoth Falls is 20 years old
  • Blackhole is 19 years old
  • Tornado is 19 years old

Additionally, Kamikaze is 17, Constrictor is 13, WnW Jr is 11. There's then a pretty big gap until Kaboom, Double Barrel, Super Ripper and H2Oasis opened in 2021- though the opening day is hard to nail down with the on-again off-again operations in it's first season.

Let's not forget the SBNO attractions which aren't included in the attraction count at WnW including:

  • Skycoaster
  • Zipline

All-in-all, WnW has shown that gaps of between 5-7 years between major attractions aren't unusual - so you'd be correct that WWW would be due for a new attraction soon, but not overdue just yet.

And, in my opinion, I still think WWW is the better Waterpark to visit.
