  1. Today
  2. @ShakeShack I haven’t been looking at that map, I’ve been clicking on the Download PDF where there is an up to date map.
  3. Not sure where you're looking mate, but see screenshot... still showing the old map.
  4. Since that photo was taken, the mural/sign on the stages backdrop has been removed. That tells me they aren’t happy or finished with it yet.
  5. Isn’t all the land that the big brother stuff sat on being rezoned anyway? Coast clearly want to use that area for a different purpose that’s not for a reality tv show that doesn’t get the ratings it used to.
  6. No it doesn’t? The only construction zone it shows is for the train track, which is still under construction.
  7. The colour, no, too much baby poo. There should be more contrasting colours, way too many shades of baby poo. Every other facade on that street has a touch of contrasting colours. 1. White trim. 2. Move power points behind screen. (can't believe DW are happy with it) 3. Replace the 1950's poor man's house FC cladding with weatherboards. 4. Contrasting balustrade = good Darker shade of baby poo balustrade = bad.
  8. It would be cool if they did that, especially with the "nostalgia" angle they are trying to bring back, but by the looks of things and the separation of the park and studios it seems like the only thing theme park related is the house being in a soundstage that's next to Movie World
  9. I would have thought that would be a missed opportunity, considering Vortex.
  10. @ShakeShack you might be waiting a while, it took over 12 months to get a WWW map.
  11. Pitty they haven't updated the actual Dreamworld map though.... still shows construction zones and dead end pathways.
  12. Honestly that makes a lot of sense. purposebuilt facilities for film-production, secure facility isolated from the public, most foreign shows are filmed on sound stages so it makes a lot of sense to do it there. it'll be curious whether village are 'in on it' and will capitalise with cross-marketing, in-park appearances and BTS opportunities post-production, or whether they are simply 'renting a space to a production company' and no more than that...
  13. Yesterday
  14. My money is BB will be filmed at the Village studios. Job listing
  15. I understand the reason for it, but you can't close it down entirely for 12-18 months without a substitute which is why I said: Once you have that, you can have a pathway that hugs the boundary (either staying on stage, or routing backstage if you need to include the food outlet) like this: Let's face it, you're not removing RRRC or JDS - So you can utilise the former LTRR queue space, allowing you to continue operating RRRC, JDS and your new indoor attraction space, effectively enabling you to bulldoze the rest of the land at leisure without guests cracking it over your lack of kids attractions. (Bonus - you get to keep the arcade open too) Ideally you'd get the food outlet and toilets refurbed prior to hoarding this pathway - you can't have a kids land operating without toilets nearby (but I suppose you could fit a small bathroom in the showbuilding also - which might stop the JDS queue smelling like piss too)
  16. The dreamworld that placed a giant silver skull in the middle of village green, employed a non-engineer to head up the engineering department, a car museum in the middle of ocean parade and a motorbike rollercoaster in Rivertown is gone. Big Brother doesn't belong at Dreamworld anymore. The current management has set about righting the wrongs of the past - there is still work to do (including the motorbike coaster in rivertown) but they're not walking backwards.... and BB would be backwards.
  17. They really don't seem to care anymore (photo taken yesterday).
  18. Last week
  19. Please do post a trip report. You will visit before me. I’m also curious about Legoland.
  20. I can highly recommend Gästehaus Nikita for your accomodation - within walking distance to the park and the owners are lovely. I'm a bit of a musical theatre nut so I loved the phantom VR experience - its worth doing regardless because I'm pretty sure its the only VR coaster that starts before you're on the train. Eftling has an app for queue skipping with is very much worth its time. Europa has a lot of single rider lines if your misses isn't keen.
  21. This has finally changed! On the park map change they’ve now added WWWs park map as a seperate link within the park map page: https://www.dreamworld.com.au/park-information/park-map/
  22. I'm weirdly nostalgic for Big Brother at Dreamworld (and I'm not nostalgic for a LOT of things, so consider this special), yes reality TV is trash, yes Big Brother as a concept and as a show does NOT mesh with the presumably "family friendly" image Dreamworld is going for these days but my favourite memories of Dreamworld as a teen in the late 90's/early 2000's will always be these 3 things: #3. The Big Brother cafe that overlooked the Log Ride. Don't know why but it was always kind of built anticipation for the auditorium itself. #2. The Control Booth in the auditorium, again kinda weird thing to focus on but the fact that the control booth was featured on TV (specifically the Up-Late) show but it was so cool to see so many TV's with eyes through the various cameras AND for the fact it was showing live feeds AND their was the allure for my young, impressionable teenage brain that I might see nudity was kinda captivating. #1. The fact the house was just there. You might be surprised to see that an apparently big 'Big Brother' fan (which I apparently am (at least for the first couple of seasons) has no interest in evictions shows and that's kind of true, I went to precisely one eviction show and I kinda thought it was boring, at least until the evictee did their exit, everything else was bland. So what's the Number 1 thing about 'Big Brother' being at Dreamworld, the fact that this "thing on TV" was just a couple hundred meters beyond the park. And so I come to my final thoughts on this whole ~thing~, do I think Dreamworld should host Big Brother again? I don't care, I don't live in Queensland anymore so whatever... Do I think Dreamworld would financially or culturally benefit from hosting Big Brother again? Again, no, at least not for the TikTok generation - unless - and this is a BIG unless, unless the next Big Brother series could cross the cultural zeitgeist and be relevant to kids and teens and yes, even us "old-heads" bother to watch television again. TL:DR, 'Big Brother' is a big draw, but for very different reasons and not for the reasons it was. If it was to be relevant now it would need to be some cross-generational cultural defying phenomenon and ALSO capture the whole 'live TV show in a theme park' shtick which is understandably harder to define in our 'every famous person just exists on our phone' kind of mentality that every iPad kid has grown up with.
  23. To my understanding they’ve removed those doors as a part of the Emporiums refurb, so inside you wouldn’t even know it’s there. I think what they’ve done is made the best of a bad situation (that was caused by previous management when the Lego store was built). I think it would’ve been nice to have aligned the stages backdrop with the facade above, but I’m sure there reasons for that decision. And while it would’ve been aesthetically even better if they rebuilt the original facade and didn’t have this stage, I can appreciate the need for it as the temporary one has been used multiple times every day and during the night markets for several years now. At least they’ve made an effort to build something permanent that matches the colour schemes and style of Main Street.
