  2. $10 difference is better than what LPS were pushing a few years back (and possibly still are) where it was like $45 a week or 2 out, then went up to 70 or 80 the day of.
  3. Sorry, you might have missed that I was being ironic. You validated WnW's Biggest N Best tagline by saying it was true. I simply pointed out that it's also true to say Village's ride uptime is poor. I do not *actually* believe that accuracy is the only benchmark to whether a dig is acceptable. Can I ask why this is so serious to you? It's a cute little theming detail that those in the know can have a little chuckle about. It doesn't stand out or affect the theming in any way. Designers love doing this kind of thing. I dare say there's probably references and inside jokes including in some of our parks' theming that are for even more niche audiences and would never be understood by anyone in these forums - things like staff members' names or references to running jokes among the management staff. If you didn't like it, it probably just wasn't for you. But what did they lose by doing it? Did it affect the theming? Did it cost them any extra than if they had just printed the sign with no references or jokes? Anyway, back on the topics that matter... I actually am a little disappointed to see this. I know the restraints are going to be so much better than the old Claw's for comfort and thrill, but the OG Claw was a very good entry-level thrill ride, so it's sad to see the overall ride lineup become slightly less accessible height-wise. It's only 10cm so not the end of the world, but it would've been nice if they could have kept it at 120. Oh well.

  5. you give yourself too much credit @DaptoFunlandGuy. I'm was replying to @jhunt2 on the definition he gave to me on what was acceptable. I don't believe DW should waste time firing shots at Village and I believe Village shouldn't waste their time firing shots at DW.
  6. I knew that was coming, that's why I told everyone to Good natured digs in the spirit of competition aren't a problem. It's a case of whether the topic you choose to target would pass the sniff test... @New display name you stink.
  7. If a good natured dig only needs to be true for people to be fine with it, MW should start calling out DW for the 2016 accident. 🥴
  8. If the benchmark for good-natured digs is that they need to be true, then you should be totally fine with the King Claw joke. Movie World has 5 major rides under maintenance as of today, and that number has been higher recently.
  9. You clearly don't, but as is usually the case around here, that's nothing unusual for you. https://tenor.com/bLs7G.gif
  10. Yeah look - you're not wrong. They technically haven't discounted tickets during off peak because the regular day price hasn't gone down. Typically though, this time of year is when we start getting "beat the price rise" style advertisements. So they could have put all day prices up to $139 as part of their annual review of pricing, but instead they opted to keep cheaper pricing in off peak. So it sort of is, sort of isn't.
  11. I think you meant to say Wicked Witch has come out of Maintenace.
  12. So day ticket pricing has fluctuated between $119-$99 over the past year with the higher prices being during holidays. This has always been a 12m ticket validity with purchase however not restricted to specific dates. I don’t think $99 is honestly value for money when half or more rides are shut/the experience offered generally outside of school holidays. I don’t see them doing it but it should be even cheaper if that’s what’s on offer.
  13. I don’t see it that way. Hasn’t Movie world been charging $109 for day tickets for ages (at least that’s how I remember it on my last visit 2 years ago)? have no idea when the $99 ticket came in that’s news to me. Correct me if I’m wrong but movie world was charging $109 (ie full price because it was set at that all year) for day tickets when half the park was closed in the middle of the year Jury’s still out on when it gets to may/june and at least a third of the park is shut. Happy to eat my own words on that but if village was happy to charge full price for that then, I don’t see it being any different now
  14. Got it. DW are picking a fight with themselves because the people running DW now are the same people who were running Village parks when the slogan came about. DW according to Dapto. 😂⏬ WnW is the biggest and the best. WWW can't say they are the biggest and the best because WnW isn't open today. @Brad2912 I hope so because my pass runs out in a couple of weeks.
  15. I mean - Wet N Wild literally has the slogan 'Biggest N Best' which only came about after WWW got built. Good natured digs in the spirit of competition aren't a problem. It's a case of whether the topic you choose to target would pass the sniff test... (wait for it....)
  16. I've literally just posted screenshots showing that the price is lower outside of expected peaks...?
  17. I really doubt they are going to lower the price for off peak seasons. I’d guarantee they’ll keep it at $109 even when half the park is closed. This is just an exercise to grab more money off the people travelling from down south and nothing else
  18. I really doubt they are going to lower the price for off peak seasons. I’d guarantee they’ll keep it at $109 even when half the park is closed. This is just an exercise to grab more money off the people travelling from down south and nothing else
  19. Mon 15th Dec looks like re-opening date for both Superman and Flash which is great for school holiday capacities Also, yikes...
  20. staff rides began yesterday morning with footage on DW socials posted this morning. may see some technical rehearsals for the GP this week
  21. I definitely have some thoughts about running a nine news story last night advertising your new attractions and that you can purchase a ticket for 99 dollars when that price isnt available once those things are actually open it seems
  22. "good natured dig"🤣😂😂 I didn't know about the job opening for a new PRguy at DW. I wonder if Dapto would say the same, if Village started airing DW's dirty laundry. NOPE
  23. 🤣 it's funny you think that: -> they spend more than a moment chucking in a cheeky dig that has very little direct cost associated with it -> that this moment, or the associated minimal cost of having a signwriter paint a few words on a board that they were going to do anyway would make a real difference in the cost to operate a waterpark in the offseason. It's likely the signboard would have existed anyway, and they had to put thought into what to write on it anyway, so the fact they settled on a good natured dig at their competitor is zero additional cost or effort - unlike operating a water park at a loss.
  24. Yep no doubt - same reason the 'gate' price is always $10 more than buying online.
  25. Yesterday
  26. Sorry, forum isn't letting me quote properly. Potentially this is a 'last minute' surcharge as they have already planned for staffing and getting more in on same day is harder than getting more staff for next day.
  27. it's funny @Ash but leaves me to think, if DW spent less time thinking about Village, DW would have more time for WWW.
