  1. Past hour
  2. Seeing the houses at HHN. I wonder if anyone prefers FNAF or Terrifier or both as houses for Fright Nights?
  3. Their website lists projects from both Universal and Disney (Waterworld + Lion King) so I have hope in them, from the sounds of things it should be better than what Showtime FMX have done as they're more specified toward theme park specific shows rather than just stunt shows. Just hope Village give them a large enough budget rather than cheapening out (which, unfortunately, would be expected nowdays). Please please please be a Mad Max show, not "Hollywood Stunt Driver 3" although from the description it sounds like that might be the case. At least there is a varied amount of stunts it seems (it mentions multiple things such as highfalls and motorbike riding ) rather than just cars drifting around the whole show and nothing else.
  4. I'm quite aware. The new Showtime is French. Either way, you still end up with a Showtime show.
  5. It's Showtime Entertainment Production group, not Showtime FMX. Completely different companies. MW are changing from this: https://www.showtimefmx.com/ to this: https://www.sepproduction.com/projects/
  6. I think you might need to read more than just the parts you want to read. It patently is Showtime.
  7. We want you to be: - Experienced in live stunt shows (where would you be getting such experience in AU?). - Skilled in acting, improv, all-round stunts (the last two being mutually exclusive generally). - A mechanic. Should be plenty of applicants.
  8. Here is the company doing the new show: https://www.sepproduction.com/projects/
  9. 6 have been built (plus Powder Keg), Only Ring Racer in Germany is the only one pulled down, but it only operated for 4 days and was closed because it was not economically viable (built at an F1 race track, not a theme park). Maxx Force is reliable - usually down because of train/sensor/block issues not launch system issues. The 4 in China are currently SNBO because Bullet Coaster had a roll-back on the top hat and collided with another train in the station. All of the air-coasters at Happy Valley parks stopped operating in China the same day. Powder Keg is an air-launch retrofit of a Premier Rides Water Coaster, and it's extremely reliable. I wouldn't buy a coaster from S&S, but the air-launch system is just a horizontal launch tower, which are generally one of the more reliable rides available. If the goal is to keep the existing Intamin ride (and trains) and just change the launch, then S&S would absolutely be an option. Building the compressed air launch systems are the one thing they do really well.
  10. Today
  11. I would be willing to buy another pass to MW, if it was a Mad Max show.
  12. This has just been posted confirmation mg that a new arena show is coming and Showtime will not be invoked anymore!
  13. @Baconjack the existing Gold Coast Kart Club closed in Coomera because the NEW residents didn't like the noise.
  14. How many air launch coasters are currently open? Most of them have been pulled down for very good reason they are well known for reliability issues If this was true Village wouldn’t be ordering new parts custom made from Intamin I would say they are committing to running superman as is for a while
  15. I don’t live on the coast but I can tell you right now that people living in Coomera are nowhere near the same level of entitled NIMBY as people in lavender bay so the Luna park comparison is silly. Who is living in a multimillion dollar apartment in an inland suburb on the Gold Coast?
  16. I feel like the LSM conversion is imminent- they can’t afford to pay for a ride that major American chains have given up on. S&S air launch would be great - but they probably won’t trust them as mentioned - swing launch wouldn’t fit the narrative, and double whammy with dreamworld having a swing launch already. This would explain why they didn’t actually do the queue conversion as they boasted about earlier this year / later last year. They could really sink some money into the story section - better sfx, tilting track or other track movement that would add something to the ride cycle. The only thing I am hoping for is if they change the trains they put some old seats at the bus stop - like Europa have.
  17. Media getting over excited on residential development again. Being an enthusiast of theme parks, leaves me with questions and concerns about what CEH are doing. Luna Park is a great example on what can happen if you start mixing residential with entertainment. As for the how involved the minister is- @ShakeShack Light Rail to the airport was never going to happen because there is a big hill in the way. Heavy rail is what the airport requires with light rail supporting it.
  18. Well I guess we know where the canceled light rail funding is going.....
  19. Looks like the minister has finally deigned to get involved... apparently at the request of King Tom himself...
  20. Yesterday
  21. @Tricoartthe things you talk about are the toppings on the cake. The cake has gone bad.
  22. They've done a lot with what they could post-protected contact, to be fair. Every time I have been since it reopened, there has been a tiger using the overhead walkthrough/rest area at the entrance (right side) to Tiger Island, and another within the updated enclosure to the left. The old show enclosure is definitely unsuited to the current setup, though.
  23. "After conducting guest feedback, we have determined that guests prefer Superman to be closed rather than open"
  24. it is now I think cause superman is closed.
  25. I very much doubt that Movie World would work with S+S again given all the issues they have had with Green Lantern over the years, and some of the issues originally with Batwing. I really hope they can keep Superman running in its current state, but I give it 5 years or so until they really should start looking at a replacement. As much as I'd like to see a LSM conversion when this time comes, I kind of think after 25 years something new would also (hopefully) be as good or iconic as Superman. That ride IMO really put Movie World on the map.
  26. If Superman does close I can't see them removing it. I reckon it's arguably the second most well-known ride at the park behind DC Rivals (with Scooby and WWF close behind) but I can see a lot of angry people if it does get removed. Considering both Scooby and WWF got major refurbishments, I can see Superman getting the same treatment. Replace the launch track with LSMs and redo the pre-show and queue, keeping the ride layout the same whilst offering a different experience from the previous one. The only problem is if Zamperla rather than Intamin redoes it as TT2 is very unreliable. Otherwise if not I can see them replacing Superman with something similar. I would love to see an Intamin Blitz themed to Batman continue to have the top hat and pre-show element, but change the layout to one that uses the grass area between Superman's current layout and the studios. Something similar to Gotham City Escape at Parque Warner Madrid with a similar queue area and vibe.
