  1. Today
  2. No, not quite… Don’t get caught up in the media spin. Firstly, it was a research lab for uni students, not a Koala Hospital. And DW didn’t just spend the money elsewhere. COVID hit, the park shut, the lab project on hold. DW asked if they could use the $2M elsewhere amongst more funding (for other obvious reasons), the Government said yes.
  3. Wouldn’t be the first time DW the Koalas dirty. Didn’t the government give them money for a save the koala hospital but ended up using the funds towards Steel Taipan?
  4. Country Fair theming. After school holidays they’ll have the king claw fencing back again
  5. I’m not sure what your point is in this topic. Are you exciting/supportive of Scooby returning along with the amount of other people commenting on MW’s recent post or just hating because it’s Village?
  6. Can someone explain the construction fence photos? How is that relevant to King Claw? Reminds me of the old Windows desktop backgrounds. Tacky
  7. The park has shared a video on its socials showing the ride in action (during the day)
  8. @DaptoFunlandGuy The Government have only been adding Koala overlays on Gold Coast land in the last few years. 5 years ago you would hardly see one but now, if it has a couple of trees, the Government are putting environment and Koala overlays on the property. I had 3 projects in the last 2 years go belly up because of trees. Building approvals and development approvals only last a few year because the laws are always changing. Just because your neighbor, Joe Blow built something 10 years ago doesn't mean you can build the same thing today.
  9. 100% Everyone wants to save the koalas, unless the koala's were living where their house was built, on the roads accessing their homes, or the shopping centres where they conveniently go shopping. the gold coast is full of convenient conservationalists
  10. Sounds like a storm in a teacup. Koala habitats are developed all the time. I've no doubt half the land making up Coomera today including both the westfield \ costco \ hospital development as well as the myriad of housing estates had koala risk also. By the sounds of the article they have considered the habitat risk and provided remediation \ controls for it. Whether that's enough is up to the powers that be to decide. It sounds to me like some councillors \ NIMBYs didn't like that the application was taken out of council hands and into state gov hands, and someone has pointed out to GCB the size of the koala habitat being taken by the development. I'm confident that the NIMBYs opposed to the application probably live in a local area that was itself a koala habitat until they built their home on it. #hypocrite
  11. Follows the typical village approach of 'it's already open so why spend more money on it'
  12. They have however installed new shading (in the form of permanent umbrellas) over the outside queue area for Scooby since the trees have been removed/majorly trimmed.
  13. I went last week and it’s a nope for both.
  14. Yesterday
  15. Yeah look, i've been thinking similarly - but wondering if they've put any shade into the WOZ queues yet... Which is exactly why I said
  16. Sounds like MW know what they are doing then. IFMW do a decent job on Scooby & the new stunt show, it might even temp me to change my passes to Village this year.
  17. Actually I viewed the park's post on social media and the comments are a flood of people saying they needed to plan a trip \ buy passes \ renew passes etc.
  18. WOW! From somebody being excited Scooby is coming back and you got all that. and the fact it's the best family coaster in Australia.
  19. The park teases a ride opening people have waited three years for and suddenly everyone forgets the sorry state of the park overall and is all shut up and take my money again. This is why Village has so much contempt for guests and has zero care for the guest experience.
