  1. Past hour
  2. NOT to be a downer, but I don't know how those previous pictures from old Claw and new Claw give any impression of how tall this ride will be because angles bias and all that shit. Also will this "new Claw" go 360 degrees? Just asking...
  3. Today
  4. Yesterday
  5. It soaks people and improves experience but no one’s buying a new pass or revisiting to ride the train . Different project otherwise the current builder would have been fired by now for non completion . They likely have missing items like the waterfall to finalise when ride goes under maintenance and defects but that’s all.
  6. These photos from @Theme Park Girl show how it’s being installed and what it’s connecting too
  7. I’m fairly certain that this is the new fencing to fence in the Rivertown railway section when it’s complete. If so It’s gonna look great once it’s installed and the train is running through Rivertown!
  8. The Claw to King Claw similarities stop at the drive system. King Claw's motor, attaches from the outside.
  9. I would have thought the motor would be in place before the swing arm was lifted?
  10. Now you're just talking about all the timber fencing already installed throughout RT @DaptoFunlandGuy. Pendulum going up. Can't be much longer to the motor is lifted up.
  11. ...if you want to obstruct the nice view of the land you'd get. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that...
  12. Last week
  13. I think it's safe to put to bed that this fencing was likely intended to be the envelope fencing, and they had to change to the black fencing for compliance reasons. There's nowhere left in rivertown where all this fencing would be practical, so probably safe to say this is excess (though hopefully in the future they can use it elsewhere)
  14. But also remember down the road we’re stilling waiting on Superman Escape to have its queue/locker upgrades, an all new dining experience to open, Doomsday to be replaced, Scooby to open, for WoO to become world class and for them to sort out their electrical system so they don’t have wiring hanging above guest areas. (The last couple I added for dramatic effect, but you get my point).
  15. The last podcast Greg did with Dane Themepark Podcast I swear I remember him saying the turntable room isn't finished yet and there was still one more big piece to come, could be wrong though.
  16. JR second waterfall still not working. MM wheelchair accessible cars still to come. Train can't do loop de loops.
  17. Aren't they? how do we know? when was the last time something was updated \ changed?
  18. September might be the date DW are going for or maybe DW are giving themselves more time so they don't end up with another JR/MM/Train situation where after 7 months, they still aren't finished.
  19. I want to congratulate you for trawling back that far to find that. That's really impressive. While King Claw might have 'more theming' than Claw did - the construction comparisons we've seen posted here recently also show that when Claw went up, the site was greenfields, so they built all the structures after the ride was up - whereas we can already see the majority of the queue structure is already up and ready - so they've got a head start on the theming and while there is still more to do - September is definitely possible. That's a great comparison shot there, although the depth is a bit different, it's definitely bigger. It's an absolutely bollocks perspective, but the pines in ocean parade have grown too. Not sure the year on Magician's Claw pic above, but the pines on the extreme right were the height of Claw, and now are the height of king claw!
  20. Another great pic from @Theme Park Girl And for reference, here is a photo of The Claw from many years ago. You can see that the roof at the front right is still the same as gives an indication of how insanely big King Claw actually is!
  21. This post from July 19, 2004, shows that supports were only being installed on The Claw in mid-July. The ride opened September 18, 2004. Dreamworld is definitely aiming for a September holiday opening.
  22. Considering The Claw started construction at the start of the year and was open in September, I’m honestly expecting a similar timeframe (if there aren’t any weather delays).
  23. Claw came together similarly fast. When you think about it - it's four supports, the motor assembly and the swing arm\gondola. It kinda has to go up quick because each side of the supports relies on the other side to hold each other (which is why there are so many cranes holding everything as it goes up) Once it's up though you can expect to see visible progress slow a bit as the finer details are taken care of. Honestly though - if we keep getting good weather, we could see testing by September... fingers crossed for an earlier than boxing day open!
