  1. @Baconjackthere is also the possibility Intamin will give MW a large discount on a new ride, since DD turned out to be shit. I've been raking my brain on what ride from Intanin, will fit at that location. Keep the existing theming. Get a discounted new ride. Probably the best financial outcome for MW.

  2. I wouldn't be so quick to knock this back. Batwing isn't super tall, and has pretty low capacity. While the park up the road already has a giant drop, there are variations on these now (falcon?) that would provide a different perspective. You could get away with doing it 'differently enough' that it could work. I get the impression from some of the village executive that it's the kind of one-upmanship they enjoy that doing an intamin giant drop that is taller than the dreamworld one to steal the crown would also be their kind of penis measuring contest.

  3. I could see them going for a Sky Jump, its a different enough experience to Batwing and Giant Drop

  4. i think a Sky Jump could be a good replacement, it doesn’t need to hit 300ft, maybe 250ft. i’m not sure what else could fit in its spot?

  5. Best food- Jane’s restaurant Best guest experience- Dreamworld Best park operations- without a doubt Dreamworld Best coaster- DC Rivals Best family coaster - Jungle Rush Beat Flat ride - murissippi motors Best themed area- Rivertown Best show- don’t have one Best kids area- Dreamworld Best new attraction- Rivertown Best theme park- Dreamworld. Despite lacking a water ride, and a coaster to match or better rivals, Draamworld is hands down the better park.

  6. By all accounts the one at Busch gardens is very unreliable They might have improved on the tech since then and it’s definitely very cool but replacing a lemon with another is not what we want If I remember right Dreamworld decided against a conversion of giant drop because it was too intimidating so that might be a factor too

  7. If that were true (which i wouldn’t know anything about) Intamin sell a bunch of drop towers and a small collection of flat rides (only 2 or 3 rides they design themselves). Thats it. They don’t have many choices Drop tower? They already have batwing so no tourbillon? Made by the same guys as doomsday (ABC) and are also lemons so you can rule that out if Village do their homework Gyro swing? There’s one up the road that it will inevitably be compared to By the process of elimination we can welcome back the sea world pirate ship

  9. Doomsday's individual page has now been deleted off the park website and the ride has been taken off the maintenance schedule, however is still on the map and appears on the attractions page Again surely an announcement comes soon. The ride is gone and whatever replaces it i'd imagine would be during 2026 at the very earliest (given its wet n wild's turn for capex this year and the area has re opened to public access without any substantial demolition work taking place). Surely they would have had time to prepare for a replacement given it was a lemon, right?

  10. interesting that the markets aren't charging admission for non passholders. opening Jane's means even if the street food isn't appealing to you or if you were looking for a proper, sit down meal, you've now got the option of dining in a theme park absolutely free of admission. #nice

  11. Yep he was definitely hands on today, the place was packed! We only just renewed our Dreamworld passes this morning after getting Village passes a month ago and being severely disappointed in Movieworld. Dreamworld just seems so much more positive, the staff are great, the operations and speed in the ride lines are amazing compared to Movieworld. Just hope to see they continue the Rivertown area into the Motorcoaster part. 1 thing, projection mapping in the temple switch track area would be a welcome addition to Jungle Rush

  12. Bigger pendulum rides aren't always better. The forces are higher on a smaller pendulum that swings faster through a smaller arc, and there is a faster transition between the positive and negative forces creating a much more intense thrill. King Claw will feel less forceful than The Claw - even if the actual forces are identical - because they're spread out over a longer arc, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for most people and should result in more people wanting to re-ride it. It will still be a thrilling and forceful ride, because the larger Intamin models are far superior to their competitors. I'm glad they stuck with Intamin and are switching up the experience without chasing 'records'.
