  1. Dear God man, experience some whimsy. I can assure you with 100% certainty the cheeky little joke on the sign is not going to affect DW's ride construction timeline in any way, nor will it affect VRTP's bottom line. It's just creative people having a little bit of fun with their jobs instead of printing out a boring old sign with the theming equivalent of Lorem Ipsum text. 99% of people won't even notice or understand, and the other 1% might smirk a little. This isn't a first time thing. Walibi Rhone-Alpes have voodoo dolls of the Asterix characters in Mystic's theming. Universal have several jabs and references to Disney across their resorts. It's just a detail that's there for some people to notice if they have a keen eye and the right understanding of the context. No one's getting hurt. Judging by your response to the Claw tribute in the theming as well, I'm getting the sense that hidden details in theming are not your thing. That's fine, but "potshots" and acting like this is some major indicator of DW's progress on improving the park? Come now.

  2. Quite a funny little jab at MovieWorld within the King Claw theming, a ferry departure sign stating Village Road is closed for maintenance. 😂 seen it on Themepark Ogres video, also technical rehearsal signs are within the ride envelope. We could be riding very soon

  3. The One Pass branding is no more, one day tickets for MW/SW/WNW are now date specific and go as high as $139 for peak dates. One Pass/Locals One Pass > Premium Annual Pass One Pass Lite/Annual Adventure Pass > Saver Annual Pass Prices have stayed the same as the previous Locals pricing but now are available to everyone. 5-14 day holiday tickets remain the same but losing the previous Escape/Super/Mega Pass naming. Following conditions apply for the new dated single day tickets ”Guests may change their visit date up to five (5) times within the same pricing tier for free, subject to availability. Date changes can be made via the “Change Date” link in the email receipt, via the online account portal, or by contacting our call centre at 13 33 86. Changes must be made before 9:00 AM on the date of your visit. If the new date falls into a higher-priced tier, additional charges will apply”. There’s a new “one day all parks” ticket at $149 that doesn’t require date selection. Thoughts are these changes make sense, the one day pricing increase and removal of the locals requirement is clearly designed to push people even further towards holiday/annual ticketing and discourage visiting Coomera.

  4. It’s worth noting the 130cm height has been applied to all Intamin gyro swings world wide including older smaller models. Goliath at adventure world has been changed from 120cm to 130cms and they reported this as an updated requirement from Intamin. Making it safe to assume if the Claw was still operating it would house the 130cm height as well.

  5. Sorry, you might have missed that I was being ironic. You validated WnW's Biggest N Best tagline by saying it was true. I simply pointed out that it's also true to say Village's ride uptime is poor. I do not *actually* believe that accuracy is the only benchmark to whether a dig is acceptable. Can I ask why this is so serious to you? It's a cute little theming detail that those in the know can have a little chuckle about. It doesn't stand out or affect the theming in any way. Designers love doing this kind of thing. I dare say there's probably references and inside jokes including in some of our parks' theming that are for even more niche audiences and would never be understood by anyone in these forums - things like staff members' names or references to running jokes among the management staff. If you didn't like it, it probably just wasn't for you. But what did they lose by doing it? Did it affect the theming? Did it cost them any extra than if they had just printed the sign with no references or jokes? Anyway, back on the topics that matter... I actually am a little disappointed to see this. I know the restraints are going to be so much better than the old Claw's for comfort and thrill, but the OG Claw was a very good entry-level thrill ride, so it's sad to see the overall ride lineup become slightly less accessible height-wise. It's only 10cm so not the end of the world, but it would've been nice if they could have kept it at 120. Oh well.

  6. If the benchmark for good-natured digs is that they need to be true, then you should be totally fine with the King Claw joke. Movie World has 5 major rides under maintenance as of today, and that number has been higher recently.

  7. So day ticket pricing has fluctuated between $119-$99 over the past year with the higher prices being during holidays. This has always been a 12m ticket validity with purchase however not restricted to specific dates. I don’t think $99 is honestly value for money when half or more rides are shut/the experience offered generally outside of school holidays. I don’t see them doing it but it should be even cheaper if that’s what’s on offer.

  8. It might not be the last thing thats done as guests are sitting down, but to my understanding it’s part of the boarding process. So maybe there’s are loading/boarding area, where people wait and go through metal detection while the ride is cycling. Therefore that wouldn’t slow down the boarding process and keeps things as efficient and safe as possible.

  9. At least the tiered day ticket pricing goes some ways towards compensating folk who visit in the off season and find half the park is closed. Interestingly, buying a ticket same day is $10 more than buying it in advance as today's price is $109 and the rest of the month is only $99. From December 1 the $109 becomes the cheapest rate, jumping to $119 from the 13th of December (charging more once school breaks seems to indicate that the park would be busier once kids are out of school, eh @New display name?) The following week it jumps again to $129 on the 20th of December, and then $139 from Boxing day. It stays at $139 through most of January, dropping to $129 for the final week of holidays (19th to Australia day) and then back to $119 from the day school goes back. Interestingly - the price doesn't go back to $99 - it stays at $109 from that point on until the end of published pricing on March 31st. We will have to wait an see what they do with Easter pricing when that gets released. Honestly the tiered pricing might have helped alleviate the crowd pressures over the peak seasons (especially if they blocked out some AP tiers during the busiest times) making it worth the while for those who stump up the extra cash, but given the price of a 5 day multipark pass is only $169 - nobody is buying the day pass and this entire exercise is a complete waste of time.

  10. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see technical rehearsals begin within the next week (maybe even this weekend) and the ride officially opening the first week of December.

  11. King Claw will feature metal detectors as guest board the ride to ensure no one has any loose items in their pockets. There is a storage carousel for all loose articles, which rotates to keep the flow of loading and unloading as efficient as possible.

  13. Nice to see that short promo video already having more stunts then HWSD2 had by the end of it's life.

  14. probably need to wait and see how they operate it. When they got new ride vehicles and operating systems for WWF it totally destroyed loading and capacity - i'm hoping they haven't done the same to scooby
