  1. You obviously haven't ridden it with a raft full of adults!
  2. Space Mountain (cali), it was only for about 10 minutes. Plus side we got to ride with lights on and got another ride once we returned to the station. Pirates of the Caribbean, although this seems to happen almost everyday, the boats must back up or something. Peter Pan, kind of ruined the experience to see how basic some things are... like the clouds when you fly over the city (just plastic bags). Tower of Terror (orlando), apparently the elevator slightly shifted off the magnets in the 5th dimension room? Or so we were told. We ended being evacuated. Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, the 'lift hill' section stopped for about 15 minutes. I had a rollback on Top Thrill Dragster but that really isn't a break down.
  3. Sound Stage*** And these are fully functional stages as others have mention. Fun fact, there are 3 water tanks used for filming, two outside and 1 inside stage 5. The stages won't be going anywhere.
  4. I am inactive on the forums for some time and this is what I return to...
  5. I personally prefer Disneyland over Disneyworld Magic Kingdom. The versions of the rides just feel more complete at Disneyland. Although Tower of Terror in Orlando is A LOT better than the one in DCA. However, both great places and must visit locations for park enthusiasts.
  6. Try visiting for New Years Eve. Park reaches maximum capacity at 10am, camera crews everywhere, cast members stressed out to the max and people camped out in main street. Good fun The atmosphere is great though, surprisingly. Remember SFMM is actually pretty hard to get out to. If you have never driven on the US then I wouldnt recommend driving, its over 60 miles from anaheim and the I5 can get very busy. My first visit we used a shuttle service which was a bit pricey and had to work around their schedule which can be pretty frustrating. The second time I was with a big group so we caught a cab which ended up around $30 each including tip each way. I'm flying out Thursday so for this visit I'll be driving, having gained a little experience earlier this year in Orlando. Also some hotels around the Disney park offer "town cars" where they drive you out there, again they can be pricey but they work around your schedule. My apologies for the bad grammer, my phone doesn't allow editing.
  7. They will not be selling after this time. Unless of course one of Alex's 3 predictions come true.
  8. They do in Christmas holidays. I was up at surfers for NYE last year and popped into movieworld one morning. The queue inside was full and not to mention two switchbacks outside.
  9. Still looks better than dreamworld...
  10. Why do I feel a lot of the younger members here are so unappreciative? Some members complain they don't add enough attractions, when they do add something new its still not good enough? By all means you are entitled to your own opinion, but at least the parks are trying so give them that. I personally am excited for this ride, first time I saw this style of coaster I knew I had to experience it, and the same goes for Buzzsaw, big or not its new and unique to the Australian shores. The only thing I disagree with is big main attractions closing and the public being left in the dark about it.
  11. Your sure you were there NYE?! The only time SE went down was because something came out of someones pocket and hit someone behind them, and it was closed down for 30 minutes only. Batwing was going all day, I could see it going all day, and BTR2, well no loss there
  12. Lethal Weapon was down on Friday and Saturday but was back up and running on Sunday, however only one train was operating (red). Even though the park was packed the rides didn't really have too of big lines excluding SE which was always 90 minutes. Scooby-Doo was only 30 minutes, the line for WWF was out of the building but only took 10 minutes, looney tunes river ride was a walk on, Batwing Spaceshot was 20 minutes. The line for the 4D show was always big and people would always miss out on it too.
  13. Just got back from surfers for NYE. Had a really good time, must say though, I knew the parks were busy but not THAT bad!! Anyone going this time of year, I suggest do WnW after 6:30, the place is desserted! I ended up riding aqua loop about 15 times (jump when the countdown hits 1 ). Can't really complain about anything, just one ride attendant on Cyclone was a bitch and another thing thing is, Q4U customers should have priority in where they want to sit.
  14. No loss with Journey to the center of the earth. If you have seen the movie you have done the ride.
  15. In reply to your post Gazza, I think Dreamworlds is has the better wave. The jet is thinner allowing a faster wave, bit harder to do tricks but more control of the board and not to mention it actually pushes riders off the wave resulting in quicker rotation of riders. With the one at Wet n Wild older riders (not kids) seem to get stuck in the wave. However, the problem at Dreamworld is the attendants seem to 'hog' the ride with there demonstrations. You pay to ride it not watch staff. At wet n wild they give you your instructions and off you go, they talk to you at the bottom if your showing your struggling. When I was there the best times to do it where for the first session (11 or 11:30 I think) or 1:00, each time I did it was only myself, my mate and 2 others, apart from the first when it was just me and my mate. If anyone is thinking of standing try body boarding first then give standing up a try, for those who surf, its nothing like it
  16. Just while this thread is currently active again... TOTII is back to its old ways... accelerate, slow down, accelerate then half way or less up the tower, now I know Slick said they redesigned the launch, but to me it feels EXACTLY the same way it used to be, it is very noticeable when it stops launching and starts up again. I personally feel going backwards gave the ride new excited and edge which it needed, however the theming? Its just very disappointing (and confusing), I didn't know what was going on, first a gigantic skull out the front, some boards with flashing lights, then a dark tunnel with conduit and exposed arcing wires, an optical illusion then some turbins? Looking at the tee's in the store there isn't even a turbine on them... but then again I honestly had no idea what was going on before. I guess it beats ply wood on the walls.
  17. ^ I was there the day before you and the ride didn't open til about 2:30, this seems to be the case every time I go.
  18. I personally think costs to move the ride would just out-weigh it all. Yes the ride has a small foot print but is still alot of cement, electrical work needs to be down, staff perhaps need to be trained (not sure if staff swap and change parks), the list could go on. Yes it wasn't a great idea to place the ride at WnW but its there now. I would rather see money well spent on ride refurbs then relocation of a ride which won't change experience because of a different location.
  19. Sounds like I'm heading over there at a good time. Only thing I will miss out on is radiator springs at DLCA.
  20. Microwaves cause cancer now!? I think the only way your gunna get cancer from a microwave is if you pull it apart and pump about 800W through the magnetron. Look at the end of the day, if Dreamworld are making money by leasing their property then good on them. More money should mean an improvement in the park.
  21. Ahh thats a shame. I was planning on visiting to do fly coaster with my mates in November.
  22. ^ But you can't just 'hollow' out the mountain, which is what I think you are saying. There is too much structural beams scattered all through the mountain. I personally would like the same ride there with just a little extra theming, but rebuilding it may or may not be possible.
  23. A lot of people are heading up their for holidays, I honestly don't think rain is going to stop families from using the park passes they paid for.
