From source "Gold Coast Convention and visitors Bureau" website: The region attracts over 12 million visitors and approximately 12,500 new residents each year, making it one of the fastest growing cities in Australia. Delegates visiting the Gold Coast spend an average 3.8 days in the region – more than any other Queensland destination. -
Songcheng Legendary Kingdom in Nerang

Taronga's Ferry is an example of a fantastic way to arrive and depart the Zoo, unfortunately the Vistas from Surfers to Nerang/Carrara are far less impressive. There are a few more challenges to face when considering such a Project: 1.How many paying Guests would be willing to shell out the extra $$$ - or would this be part of the package? 2. Assuming the above, what extra benefits could be offered to entice people aboard like Lounge, Dining and Beverage services? I imagine a cruise that offered unlimited drinks and buffet that changed over the day/evening would be a very enticing package for many. 3. Offering regular Ferry services up and down the Nerang River will no doubt substantially increase the traffic on the River - a waterway previously owned by Thousands of households with little to no disruption. There would surely be a massive fight to get this passed. 4. To get locals over the line and provide it as a true Public Transportation system, other Ports would have to be added along the route, further lengthening the journey. -

It's interesting to see how so many of us are Tall-Poppying the idea of the Project before it is barely more than just that. A Project. Myself, I'm actually quite excited by the whole thing. In many ways it reprises the original ideals of the good ol Dreamworld days of the 1980's and indeed that too of the original WB's Movie World of the 90's. That is before it became 6FlagsVillageWorld as we know it today. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I am sure that the whole Park design and feel will continue to evolve before ground has broken on it and indeed long after too no doubt should it be successful, based on that of Predecessors. In an environment like the Gold Coast, shows and experiences alone do not deliver timely success. To be sure, it will need more than just that to stand up to test the times. Regardless of the wow factor. Rides will do that. In successful Theme Parks they always have and always will. -
I think this marks some very exciting times for Aussieworld and the surrounding precinct. The original Designer of the Pub even welcomed the re-design to bring it into a new Era. . Personally I think it looks terrific and the big surrounding Verandah gives it a 'Queenslander' look. It's pretty clear that with changes like this and the removal / replacement of certain attractions, the Owners are serious about Aussieworld's future. Definately looking forward to seeing this happen

Seriously Tornado.. Your a total Tossa and you need to fuck off.. That is all. -
That's a nifty looking concept! I wonder with so many moving parts and shifting weights, how the whole thing would stand up structurally, given all of the mechanically problems Wipeout style rides have faced around the world? Also sighting that most today have been removed, Wipeout being one of few surviving. Tbh I cannot see this idea getting off the computer screen conceptual stage. If you watch the carriages carefully it really doesn't look all that thrilling either.

There has always been a distinct lack of animation out back, despite the overall fantastic setting/ambience. The addition of dynamite and numerous signage throughout as well as the re-dressed bridge scene are all welcome improvements however the Scenes themselves are still most definitely lacking Kinetic energy. Hopefully come next refurbishment this will be looked at. I was also a little disappointed to see they hadn't cleaned up/ repainted the Geyser area - even after months of closure I would have hoped the bunches of dead leaves and dirt around the molten rock formations could have at least been properly addressed.

How is it unlikely? I'm interested to know how some people on here know the fate of certain rides based on little more than their own assumption? If I were to listen to educated guesses then I would only be paying attention to the comments of a handful on here. Maybe start by reading what @Richard has had to say on the subject of home grown/in house rides? In the case of the Flume ride, I would say SW will do absolutely everything feasible to keep the ride. If it is however found that repair cost is greater than that of a superior replacement then logic would suggest it's days are to numbered. Personally, I do not believe that to be the case.

Well typically Hyper's don't have Inversions - nor do they need them. This one appears to be an evolution of the Flash so I'd expect at least a Giant loop from the first drop, maybe going one step further with a twist at the top of it? Improving on Flash, perhaps too this ride will also come with multiple Inversions? Or even a Launch mid ride??? MW always opt for innovation with their rides so expect this one will have more exciting features than simply being the tallest new kid on the block. -

@Brad2912 I read @POP's msg too and thought it a little strange that he msgd so soon after recently announcing his departure from Parkz. Showing true colours I guess For what it's worth I gave pos rep to your message because it seemed genuine and thoughtful. Despite that, someone seemed to have taken it the wrong way -
Old video footage of our Aussie theme parks in 80's/90's

Wow @Theme Park Girl thanks for this!!! Like you, the Ghost Rider at Grundy's was one of my early favourites - I even got chills as a kid when I walked by.. Not sure if others on here remember of the details inside? I recall a light flash and a scream sound as you entered the ride as well as scenes like a Doctor/Scientist pulling gizzards out of his Patient. Much of the ride was Pitch black with Scenes "Popping" out of the dark and punched with sound effects. As a kid, this ride genuinely scared me as it made me jump. I challenged myself to ride alone, fearing the dark at young age. From memory, I recall seeing many couples getting a kick out of it too, assuming it was quite the date ride. If the ride did indeed live on after Grundy's could only assume it was sold off for parts as a travelling ride. This kind of ride IMO would be perfect for Aussie world. -

Channel 7 just had the Parking lot plans on the news, suggesting the Residents are upset and coining the term 'paved paradise to put up a parking lot'.. - Hardly Paradise, it looks like a pretty ordinary block to me? At least MW intend to make practical use of the Space.- 499 replies

The best way to help DW heal from this terrible situation is to support the Business in helping it get through their toughest time. Pop, by showing such little respect for the future of DW and it's People, you have indicated how much you don't care by saying you will never go back to the Park. So because you don't care about DW, perhaps don't bother talking about DW on this Forum ever again? I honestly don't think you realise the gravity of your words some time. Oh and one last thing... I personally will look forward to calling you out when the day comes that you eat your words and visit DW again. -
^ you could also view it that due to S&S' impressive and decisive level of response with dealing with the GL incident, VTP may actually be MORE inclined to dealing with the company again? Not to mention getting a really great deal on a new purchase!

An old fashioned Seaside Amusement Boardwalk area for SW along the linesame of Disney's a raise Pierre and Blackpool Pleasure Beach - I am in love with Joz's idea proposed a little while ago however I would also add a "fun wheel" to the Skyline and with the main coaster looking and feeling like Disney California Screamin with it's white wooden panels to replicate an old sea side woody. The Grundy shooting style ride sounds a lot like Toy Story Midway Mania and you could also go one step further and add a "Ghost Train" - like the old Grundy's one among the games on the Midway. Finish things off with a Wave Swinger ride with all it's traditional artwork and lighting to help add kinetics to the skyline and an affordable Thrill flat That's a whole new area and just imagine how terrific it would look from both within the Park and from across the Broadwater!

The Brickwork look is new. It was rather plain/rendered before.. Looks great!

SW needs a decent Capital Injection with a focus on rides, rides and more rides. Today with really only 2 that could be considered thrilling family rides I would love to see the addition of the following: - A Creatures of the Deep interactive Dark ride attraction that would take the place of the Castle Theatre area. - A fun flat ride over the existing Flume queue and boarding area. Something along the Thrill level of the Pirate Ship. - A big dipper style rollercoaster made to look like an old sea side woody but a Steel Coaster, like California Screamin at DCA. Obvious location beside Jets Rescue. - A great big Ferris Wheel, like the DCA Fun wheel. Now that I am sure building height restrictions have changed, they should investigate pursuing such an attraction permanently. The views are unsurpassed. Place along a Boardwalk area beside the new coaster. Complete rebuild of the Front gate. It's time to seriously reinvigorate SW. The Park is long overdue for a big spend
