  1. Just an idea, but at Dreamworld on the Giant Drop, couldn't they install a third track, and have another drop ride, or even better, connect them up in a circular fashion? I've seen instances of gondolas going all the way around the tower, what about one that just goes "most" of the way? Would chew through more guests this way.
  2. I didn't get the email, but I would like to buy such a pass at that price. Can anyone help me out with a link or something?
  3. Perhaps they're changing the shuttle service so that it uses public roads? If this was the case, what private roads could they then remove? And what would be the point in that?
  4. Hey guys Just wondering if anybody knows whether or not I can use a VRTP gift card to purchase Splash Cash. Also, is it possible to purchase the QLD VIP pass using a gift card, or is it credit card only thing? Thanks!
  5. Best brush up on Objective C - that's what the iPhone uses
  6. Hey guys I was here on Sunday just gone, rode Jet Rescue a couple of times, and noticed the train sitting out the back of the station. Didn't get a very good photo of it, but here's what I did get: Seems you'll be sitting a little higher up than before. The bottom of the train appears to be a "boat" - it has the elastic tied between loops running along the edge. You can see they've kept the orange colour too. If they've got the train on the tracks, but they still haven't changed the logo on the roof of the building yet. Shouldn't be too long now til it's re-opened though I would think.
  7. I'd like to see a McDonalds express installed - you know what you're getting, the quality is reasonable, the menu is familiar, and the profit margins are reasonable for operators. It would also be partially regulated in pricing from head office (I imagine/hope). As far as pizza goes, I prefer Eagle Boys over the other 2 - at least profits stay in the country too. On the food policy - I agree that it stinks. I can understand the no commerically prepared food rule, because otherwise they'd do their F&B department out of business, but a sandwich or packed lunch ban is just ridiculous if you ask me.
  8. If they're smart about it, they can pay money over some time now, with the AUD being about 0.80 USD, that's a pretty good exchange rate - it means something like Maverick at 21M USD would only be 26.25M AUD (if I worked that out correctly). A megalite would be great in my opinion.
  9. Here's a copy of the email I received dates 25th April: The link to the voucher within the email also says 25% I'm not saying the 50% deal isn't great for those who have children, but just that the annual pass deal has changed.
  10. This was the deal for annual pass holders last year. I was going to take friends with me to the park on my birthday, but nobody was free - we ended up doing something totally different instead. However, this year, my birthday falls at the end of May, and my birthday offer arrived in the email a few days ago - except the discount for up to 4 people was only 25% this time.
  11. I was at the park that day (Sunday). I spent the morning at Movieworld then came over to Seaworld for the afternoon. I made my way up to Jet Rescue but the ride was indeed closed. They were having problems with the second launch it seems. The girl there said they had both trains running that morning, so something happened and it closed for the afternoon. Seems they could launch it from the station fine, then it would get to the tunnel and stop. After a little while, a technician would walk along the station and into the tunnel, and shortly after they would launch from the tunnel. It would get back to the station, they'd cycle it through to the load station, and they'd try it all again. I watched them do it twice before I left the park.
  12. Just you wait - they'll wanna open the roof up soon so then they don't need the pretense of a dark-ride, it can become just a wildmouse

X-Car is only available in 1.71 it seems. I converted it to Euro-Fighter - seems to run a little faster on that. Download: Euro_Zest.zip
  14. I'd cut the size of Wayne Manor and put some of the queue line through there. It could be airconditioned then. Maybe use some perspex to replace the fences that are there, and have them come high enough so that it looks like shielding from the outside - remember this is meant to be a jet launch. I'd want them to replace the water misting coming out of the tower and put it coming from the top of the perspex walls firing in towards the tower, so that you shoot up out of the fog, like on Superman. I'd maybe even get the staff to where shirt & tie, as if they were butlers. Since the ride would now be somewhat enclosed around the bottom, you could air condition the area so the staff wouldn't die in summer. Flashing lights around the bottom, maybe even have roller shutters just inside the perspex that close up just before the launch, as would happen with the firing of a rocket.

    No Limits Help

Only thing I'd say about Raw Hide is that the lift hill needs to be kept a little straighter, I noticed a slight sidewards movement as it got toward the top. I'm posting up a new track I did today. I called it Zest. It's an X-Car coaster, with an 85kmh launch and 5 inversions. There's 2 places where it has tiny hits of extreme G's in the lateral, and I can't work out how to clean them up. If anyone could help that'd be great. For those without NoLimits, here's some pictures for you: Download: Zest.zip
  16. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people still attend Dreamworld simply for the number of attractions. Even though they'd spend half their day in queue lines, they still feel that Dreamworld has enough attractions to keep them busy for the whole day. Laser tag would be really cheap. You can pick up a kids 2 vest 2 gun pack from department stores for around $50, so getting, probably 10 in at a time (this is Dreamworld), shouldn't cost them too much at all. Although, let me just say, if they do this, I'd like to see them do it properly - with 2 levels, and good places you can sniper the opposing team from above.
  17. I'm no good with the 3D work, but I'm happy to try and smooth out the track for you. I'm still yet to ride this new beast, but I think there's enough photos online now to be able to get a good go of it
  18. That briefing goes forever. I don't see this going too well. With such a video, I'd be having the drivers move into a small video screening room, and then putting them on the ride after that. Now, with an efficient park, this isn't a problem, as they'd be running the simulators while the current lot of drivers are watching their video, but this is Dreamworld we're talking about. (Perhaps they'll just play it during the queue line - the wait will probably be long enough)
  19. Couldn't there be a commutator rail on the section that runs straight along the wall near the maintenance bay, with the walls that fall in, and then another at the catch-car? For the wireless option, it wouldn't be too hard to place an RF transmitter on board the train - they only require a small battery, and the receiver plugged straight into the main systems. When you think about the layout, the only places where Stopping actually can occur is within the stations, or the dark-ride section, and mid-way between these is the control centre. I would find this wireless option unlikely though.
  20. I would suspect that there is a data track (or equivalent) running along the track within the dark-ride section, and stations and such. As you pull in to the unload station, you can see the contacts which send the unlock signal to the restraints, so I'm sure a similar system exists within the dark tunnels.
  21. I'd guess this one was a case of an operator paying attention during the pre-show and saw a rider take off their belt. It would seem odd to me that it would cause an E-Stop if the ride detected a belt being undone. When we hit the brake run, I undo mine then, to save time when we get to the station, and never had it cause a problem.
  22. I'm sorry, but I don't see how a newer version of an existing product helps to broaden appeal. For this type of attraction, I would go to a games arcade, not a theme park.
  23. In the pre-lift section, there's a coffin laying on the left side of the track now, just before you go around a turn (I forget which one), and there's also spiders up on the wall on your right. The light that shines on scooby near the mirror before the lift needs to be moved - when I went yesterday it was shining at the bottom of him, and you couldn't see his head. The final room seemed much better, the new laser does a great job, but there didn't seem to be much smoke in there yesterday. I like the spider that's hanging near the sweeping turn, and how you don't even see it til you get there. The jungle room was really bright yesterday, you could see the track, there was no smoke at the drop, but the laser was still turned on. Other than that, it all seems great. Was wondering though, what the point in the bumper section in the load station is? It starts at the stairs on the operators side and extends to the point where the car waits while the one in front starts the pre-lift.

    No Limits Help

I had a go at re-building "Steel Force" of yours. Here's what I came up with. Edit: Just took a quick look at "Light Jump", and I have a few tips for you: 1. Use the "I" key to make sections of your track completely straight. Things like stations and lift hills should be kept directly straight, so when placing your vertex points, check that the X is 0.0 or the Z is 0.0, depending on which direction you're going. 2. Use Continuous Rolling. Parts such as the corkscrew which follows your Cobra Roll, the approach looks scary. Use continuous rolling to help smooth out your banking. Also, you don't have to enter an element at 0 degrees banking, you can give it a head start. 3. Slope your Brake Runs. When you're placing brake runs in, it's usually a good idea to place them on a downward slope. This means that when an E-Stop occurs (press F12), the train is able to keep rolling just from the force of gravity. 4. Use HeartLine. From the Display menu, select "Show Heartline". This shows a green line in the centre of your track. This is where the riders centre of gravity is. You'll notice that as you go around corners, the centre of gravity will shift. Use your banking to try to reduce the movement of this line. If the line has to move, try to make the movement smooth. As for your inversions, if you did them yourself, you did a pretty good job. If I get a chance a little later, I'll have a go at re-building Light Jump. In the mean time, I'd love to hear your comments about the re-build of Steel Force. Remake.zip
