  1. That is a fair point, I was just spit balling some ideas. You’re right about what a parade is, but even there usual daily parade has a bit more too it. Yes there are less characters and floats, but the music constantly changes, the characters dance and interact with people. And it has a great fun vibe about it This is what I was expecting for this parade
  2. They did claim it was their biggest parade ever, which I guess they aren’t wrong about. And they didn’t say it was their best parade ever
  3. I think they’ve done a great job with the event, but for me the parade was underwhelming. There are some great floats and great to see so many characters, but because it’s meant to be a celebration event, it didn’t feel like there was much happening. All the characters go up and down Main Street and wave. There wasn’t any dancing, fancy lighting, massive change in music, confetti, etc. I think they should’ve made the parade at 5 or 5:30, because it’s dark by that time and then they could’ve done awesome lighting things. Maybe even someone on a mic announcing who/what is coming next (like how events would announce who was coming down the red carpet next for example). The park has such great atmosphere throughout the day, but for me, the parade didn’t match that vibe.
  4. I’m hoping they get rid of the building and this shelter too (that this photo was taken under) that I haven’t seen be used in over a decade.
  5. I’d say because the S stands for Steel not Snake. And in the ride logo on the website, the word Taipan has has the snake tooth/bite reference
  6. That’s great to hear I do hope it’s true. It was still a very popular attraction right up until it’s closure. It’s foot print and close proximity to Storm doesn’t allow for a lot of option in terms of replacement.
  7. @Naazon I’d say it’s was the parks media team capturing content to share over the next couple weeks. They usually get all the content on the first day
  8. I went on vortex for the first time this morning. I had read on here before that the cycle should be longer, it’s not as good as wipeout, etc. Having ridden Wipeout a number of times, I had something to compare it too. My first thoughts of it are: It’s disappointing. It’s definitely a needed attraction for the park (or any form of large scale flat ride was needed really). The entrance to the area is nice, there’s a good amount of planting leading up to the ride. The queue is… underwhelming. The curved walls around the ride, the carvings within it are good touch, and the water bubbling adds something too. The seating is comfortable. The ride itself, it’s so harsh, jarring and over before you know it. The issue I have is it feels too mechanical. Much like the issue we’ve had with doomsday, it feels too controlled. The cycle should build up to the flips, like how Wipeout did. It should go over the top a few times and let the ride pick up speed. Stop at the top, lock in place and then do a full rotation (which is what it did, but that’s all it did). Then a few rotations, lock in, do flips, and maybe do that process 3 times. Have a moment where it’s intense, but have some ‘filler’ rotations so the cycle lasts much longer. Because of the constant water, the colouration of the walls around the ride are also starting to go brown
  9. @pin142 you predicted it The exhibit can be found at the back of the park next to the Dingoes. It isn’t anything special, would’ve been good to see some more rock work or something. Definitely a good addition for the park
  10. While the Yosemite Sam’s Diner isn’t open, we have got some sort of version of it
  11. Entrance sign for Road Runner has been stripped apart
  12. For some reason they’ve removed the construction fencing. And trees have started to arrive
  13. With the Wintersville area now open, to my surprise they’ve opened the back door for the area up, which connects round to the Game Site area. Unfortunately it’s a mix of Zombie Evilution and Trolls. They definitely couldn’t have opened this area up.
  14. SW may think they removed all references to the attraction, but they were wrong And they have fenced off access to the old entrance for the 3D movie
  15. The fenced off area in the car park has been reduced Framing is going up for the rockwork The fencing between BuzzSaw and Steel Taipan has started to be removed
  16. The car park was pretty empty considering it’s school holidays. Main Street was attracting the crowds the most. The biggest ride queue I saw was Scooby at 45 minutes
  17. The vibe and activity through the park right now is so good. There is constantly something happening (down Main Street in particular), characters everywhere, it’s great
