  1. Fence is finished. Looks the same as before but taller. Photo TPSN
  2. Which is a big issue when they struggle to manage their annual maintenance periods because it creates a very poor first impression when almost all of the rides at the front of the park are closed. But then you head to the back of the park and everything there is actually closed.
  3. The only reason to turn left at the end of Main Street is to talk the back alley entrance to the left of Scooby to access Wizard of Oz; the reveal you should have for the land.
  4. You’re telling me that only having 50% of the park open isn’t a reason to visit 🙃
  5. Except for what I believe is new theming at the very back where the awful screen was
  6. This is an awesome video that gives an amazing insight into the entire process from start to finish for the coaster. It reveals a lot of details many of us didn’t even know about and why there were so many delays in its opening. About halfway through the video it also gives an insight into the incompetence of VRTP and why they sometimes make poor decisions, or thinks take so long to get done!
  7. Looks like their increasing the height of the fence surrounding WWF, which likely means you won’t be able to stand near the store/exit and clearly see the boats come down the final splashdown
  8. The YouTube channel ‘Coaster Studios’ have announced they have made a new documentary about the challenge with building roller coasters in Australia, with a particular focus on Leviathan. The documentary comes out this weekend. “Surprise! We made a new documentary For our next project, we wanted to cover something we'd never really seen discussed before. Most people know building a roller coaster is no small feat- but did you know some countries make it more difficult than others? Australia is known for having some of the strictest regulations in the world, which can add stress to what might be an already difficult project. We sat down with @thegravitygroupllc and Martin & Vleminckx Rides to find out what it took to develop Australia's only modern wooden roller coaster. Leviathan is unlike anything the country had ever seen before- which meant an uphill battle to bring it to life. On Friday, we will share that story with you through interviews, custom music, and never before seen pictures!” https://www.instagram.com/p/DKLCQWAJzO6/?igsh=N3R6NTN4cWc2MnIz
  9. @Brad2912 how did the trivia night go? Keen to hear if it was a good turnout
  10. The first slide pieces have been installed https://www.facebook.com/share/r/16VUKUn3ht/?mibextid=wwXIfr And here’s an artwork of what’s being built
  11. A year later, Sea World have updated their website to have the new style https://seaworld.com.au
  12. Should’ve commented about it sooner!
  13. @Naazon not sure if that entirely counts since it’s run by an outside business and they just rent the park out. You could also argue WWW opens in the winter because the Fun Run goes through the park… but again, I wouldn’t say the park is ‘open’.
  14. They’ve done this for as long as I remember and is generally happens between the April and September holidays, along with the lazy river closing. I believe a few years ago (maybe covid played a part), but they did close a couple days a week during these reduced hour months.
  15. I get the feeling they’re heavily relying on AI for their marketing now
  16. Not caring about the guest experience means crowd levels have reduced, which means they have less profit. I don’t know how to run a business, but surely that’s pretty obvious right?
  17. On Gumbuya World’s social media channels they posted that the park wouldn’t be open Monday/Tuesday this week, which I thought was odd because to my understanding they open everyday, but only the wildlife section is open on weekdays (outside of school holidays). After further investigation, it appears there has been some significant changes to their operating hours over the next few months, which I suspect is the parks way of reducing costs. Over the next two months they aren’t even operating their only operating junior rides on weekends, which means they’re main two attractions (TNT & Project Zero) aren’t operating. They’re also not even operating rides every day during the Victorian school holidays. To my knowledge the park hasn’t operated like this in previous years, even during the cold Victorian months. If we thought things weren’t well at Village, maybe they aren’t good at Gumbuya World either!
  18. The fact that 40% of the parks rides are closed for maintenance and now their running rides at either reduced capacity of reduced operating hours is further proof that all is not well at Village. Makes me think that maybe Bikash’s departure wasn’t completely his choice…
  19. @Coasterjoe I believe the second train is out of action for maintenance at the moment
  20. Movie World really need to sort their shit out… Having half of the park closed for maintenance isn’t acceptable. I understand some of the above closed rides aren’t scheduled to be closed and might be having some teething issues, but having 6 rides closed and having just permanently removed one shouldn’t be acceptable. They seriously need to rethink their maintenance schedule so there’s not this mass downtime, especially when they charging day guests $109 (for perspective I paid that to visit DisneySea).
  21. No, but Disney's CEO said they'll be designing the park over the next 18-24 months. I think the fact Disney have formally announced it, that's pretty certain that this will happen because if it's cancelled it will look bad on Disney. I know Universal had announced a park for Dubai and it never happened, but I think it's different for Disney.
