  1. Arkham its self cost 50% more than that, back in 1995. According to the RBA, adjusting with inflation, thats $28million in 2018
  2. George Miller is very vocal about wanting to film 1-3 more Mad Max movies and is rumored to have written them and even as far as story boarded the next one, and Tom Hardys contract is for 3 more movies but there is issues with the studio or something that is holding it up. @Flynn_Smith it was me that said a duelling coaster, but the biggest issue with that is the cost. I'm not one for facts on costs but I assume a duelling coaster would cost around the $40-$50million mark. Benefits are, keep an inverted (if they went that path), 2 coasters for the space of 1 and increased park and ride capacity and a good crowd sponge.
  3. Wasn't it the first with the extended run / helix?
  4. Not to mention, body slides don't have block brakes and you have to wait for everyone to clear before the next person can go. Any higher / longer and slide time stretches out and queue time builds
  5. Is an LED screen out of reach? an LED screen would work well when there is still light around and could even be used during the day for VR ads like Movieworld and sponsorship ads for revenue/offset costs. (During non wave periods)
  6. Pretty easy to prove if its legit too. odd such a claim isn't being backed up.
  7. If we're talking wishlists for replacing Arkham, to fully utilise all the space they could pretty comfortably fit dueling coasters in the area, similar to Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon just hopefully without all the issues and then you also get 2 rides for replacing 1, and an inverted coaster sill. Obviously huge downside is cost...
  8. When I read this story, amazingly no mention of Dreamworld was in it.
  9. Play around in your camera settings if possible. Both my DSLR (Cannon) and my Point and shoot (Sony) have colour customisation options. Don't get me wrong the photos look great.
  10. All the lights on the Roxy have been fixed/replaced also. Assume it was done for the FN Ad but it looks great with them all working again.
  11. Monorails has dropped off a bit, maybe because the GC got trams? Walkthroughs wasn't dragged on too much from memory, compared to other things. Boxing Day ... urgh.
  12. Yes. And I remember that comment. It deserved more likes and push not liking it was kinda given. Just weird it took this long.
  13. I copped 2 fountains on a post thats 10 days old talking about how I would have preferred the Superman queue to interact with the ride instead of standing in a boring shed. No shit its improbable, the rides been standing for almost 15 years. The emote system is really hit or miss but i do love putting the laugh one down on a great joke.
  14. What are these plates used for? Also missing from your photos, the Metal arch over the walkway to GL, BW, DCR and JL is set up with those flamethrower things.
  15. Is it just me or do those photos seem over processed / saturation turned up max? Otherwise looks cool.
  16. I could see that if this wasn't a rollercoaster, the advertising of it and whole point of it is to go fast and if it wasn't called Superman Escape. The queue is boring. a pass through and viewing of the launch from the queue would make the queue tolerable.
  17. I wish more rides interacted with the queue. like the pass through the building for superman would be great if it passed through the queue building, and the launch was visible from the queue. Movieworld seems to really want the queue to be locked away from the rides, but then does little to try and entertain the people in the queue. Can't speak for DW as its been years since I was there.
  18. Forbes says its #70. Some surprising companies above it. Some not so surprising... https://www.forbes.com/global2000/list/#tab:overall
  19. I might wait until the new Wild Mouse opens then. I've personally never been and its annoyed me that I haven't but I also don't feel like im missing much.
  20. My take is the ride has been turned around to face the lagoon now and the new wall in the rendering is a sound barrier to reduce the impact the the dolphins. I do think the queue should wind past both the dolphins and also inside the wall so you can view both the dolphins and the ride.
  21. I wonder what would happen if back row was free and rather than buying a back row wristband, you bought a 1 time use fast pass, choosing which seat you wanted. They could then let on more than 2 paid riders per train if they wanted, and also fill every train no matter what. Although queue logistics would suffer. On that, the spinning row has 4 seats so assuming they sell at the same rate as Movieworld, they could be set to make double from it, but the general queue suffers with the loss of 2 extra seats. I'm fine with the bonus row but would prefer if the train was left alone and they added a whole extra section at the back, although that would involve further design and engineering changing the weight and length dynamics.
  22. but actually, would it be easier to expand into that area if there are services already running there.
