  1. In my opinion, DreamWorld is better with rides for young kids. You have the 5 rides in Shrek/Madagascar, then all of the Wiggles Rides, and also the animals at the back of the park. Good luck with choosing!
  2. This is on Sunday. Construction companies don't work on Sundays. What do you expect?
  3. If you think about it, it SHOULD mean that rides will be open for the summer season. So when the vast majority of people visit, they are pleased with the fact that there is a large amount of rides open. From what I saw on Sunday, they are really putting effort into making sure the rides are good to go. For example:
  4. Im not sure what the slides are like, because I've never visited before. However I'd say it could be because another park is going to/has purchased them.
  5. On an unrelated note. From the sounds of things, Carnivale is at SeaWorld again...
  6. Yeah, I must admit it does look very underwhelming at this stage. Hopefully they put more than just tiny looking volcanoes and rocks around.
  7. Visited DreamWorld today. And I got some shots of the Mine Ride. Not sure if much has changed over the weekend.
  8. I would've thought that staff could just use the cables to winch down the cart?
  9. I find it hard to believe that during the school holidays, only one person was queuing for their main attraction.
  10. http://www.news.com.au/travel/australian-holidays/how-dreamworld-is-coping-a-year-after-the-thunder-river-rapids-incident/news-story/c013dba708c5799a1010548d40bfd51b Just going to put this here.
  11. I'd say they wouldn't be allowed to do anything until they get all of the families permission, and when the site is cleared.
  12. Oh my gosh! It really is. I didn't even think about that. It is the off season at the moment, so generally stores will be closed. Plus the weather has been nothing but shit lately so that would've driven people away. (EDIT) Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but... https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/queensland/no-charges-sought-over-dreamworld-disaster-20171021-p4ywkj.html
  13. It was certainly not preserved by Channel 9 or 10. Its a mess. There is a video of someone who broke into the area and filmed a full walk through of the studios, but I can't be bothered to find it in the forums. @Theme Park they can't hire it out because it is literally a mess.
  14. I think it's dumb to think that it's not going to open. Why would they throw thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands at fixing a ride, if they are just going to give up and throw it away? It's going to open, just give it time.
  15. Speaking of this. Probably will never happen, but what are the chances of DreamWorld replacing the restraints of the Claw and updating them to the new Intamin restraints?
  16. That last shot is really, really cool. Look at the height difference between the two signs! Would've looked cooler if the track was lit up though.
  17. To be fair though. It is only about a week between each push back. And movieworld is the same. Batwing, Arkham and WWF were all pushed back.
  18. So, according to Nine Honey.. DC Rivals is the second fastest Hypercoaster in Australia. "The DC Rival Hypercoaster will be the second fastest HyperCoaster in Australia, travelling at 115km per hour, during the 1.4m length."
  19. You can barely see the writing on it. It is a completely useless map.
  20. No one will know until it is open and announced at the park. It's a soft opening, so it could open at 3PM, or it might not open at all. It's really a gamble.
  21. It's really great though. Since everyone flocks to DC Rivals, it gives everyone else a chance to enjoy the other rides the park has to offer. At about 4 O'clock on Sunday, lines in Superman were only 5 minutes. Same for Arkham, GL and Batwing.
  22. Hi Elise. Your best bet will be from around 1:30 -2:00pm onwards. Before that is usually testing and preparing.
