  1. i have been a couple times in holiday periods (more recently) where they have been slammed, like an hour for Sky Voyager, 45mins for Claw, GC 1 floor down the spiral ramp, MDMC all the way down the ramp ect. They do get busy now, however they don’t have those weekend bursts MovieWorld has from what i’ve seen, most of Dreamworlds big crowds form in the holidays.
  2. I like how overtime they’ve just been removing stuff and starting construction, it allows for a lot of the rides to stay open a lot longer then if they just shut the whole area down and did all the work, i can’t wait to see what this area turns into when it’s completed.
  3. the ride booth operator comes over the speakers and repeats multiple times for riders to not touch either seatbelts as the ride ops need to do it for them, so i’m assuming if the guests do it they have to just take it all out and do it themselves.
  4. Haven't ridden but from videos the dispatches are shocking. All riders board, however the riders are only allowed to touch the lap bar. there’s only 2 staff on the ground and they have to do up the seat belt across the lap as well as the seat belt connecting the lap bar to the seat. With 39 seats / riders per ride it can take up to 10mins to just dispatch, is this normal procedure for other star flyers?
  5. guess what’s back down again, i think it lasted 2 days max?
  6. I was meaning have VRTP sell the property to Universal, as much as i love Leviathans theming i just don’t think they could pull of Universal level. With my Idea, replacing JL with Simpsons would mean BW, GL and DCR would all be Simpsons themed, maybe change the Secret Life Of Pets area to a Simpsons area and have the new dark ride be a Simpsons dark ride, that could work well. But I do agree, they won’t sell or cut ties with Warner Bros, this is all just hypothetical talk
  7. exactly your problem, opinions can’t be right or wrong, they’re a personal opinion. You said his comment is why parks roll their eyes, but they don’t care if people have a question or a certain opinion on a piece of theming, especially after he complemented the rest of it. I’m getting tired of some people who have been on here for a long time thinking they know better and therefor developing a superiority complex towards those who haven’t been here for quite as long, it’s astonishing and for the sake of us all please touch some grass and come back to reality.
  8. If they cut ties i’d say turn the park over to Universal Studios, i’d love to see a universal park down here and this would be an easy opportunity. Im not sure for all of the themes but my current ones in mind would be; SDSC - Despicable Me Superman - Studio Tours Possible storyline could be a normal studio tour is taking place however a fire effect on a set goes wrong and you need to evacuate the building. Trains would be replaced to new gen Intamin trains (like on Velocicoaster) WWF & Villains Unleashed - Jurassic Park / World give the whole area an overhaul with a new ride / coaster, maybe knock down the soundstage between both areas to open the space up for a new coaster or make an indoor coaster / experience. WoO - Universal Monsters? The Castle could rethemed to Dracula’s Castle, gives great opportunity for the racing coaster retheme, i think it would work well (obviously toned down a bit as it’s a family area.) Kids WB Zone - Secret Life Of Pets The movies are very popular with younger kids and i feel it would give a great opportunity to expand and potentially add in a new dark ride along with some new kids rides replacing some of the outdated ones (such as Speedy Gonzula’s, Tweety’s ect.) JL - Removed JL ride systems and ride as a whole doesn’t scream universal, so i could see the ride being replaced with a newer more advanced dark ride. The theming would match GL, Batwing and DCR as that would become its own little area, unsure of the theming for that area so far. This imo would be the best move if they were to cut ties, it would also be pretty awesome having HHN locally (never been, but it looks incredible.)
  9. The issue with Vortex has now been resolved, both Trident and Vortex are open today with little waits. Something i find interesting is on queue-park.com, Leviathan Backwards is listed as Virtual Queue (obviously closed now), could we be seeing them move from the wrist bands to a Virtual Queue system where you pay through the app and scan it for your backwards ride? it would make the process a lot easier for both Leviathan and Rivals if both are changed.
  10. I don’t really think parks give a damn if someone’s confused on a piece of theming, if they did the entire villains unleashed area wouldn’t be in MovieWorld as it makes no sense in the parks flow. People are allowed opinions on here, negative or positive, if we aren’t then why are we here. You’ve made it clear over and over you think you’re better then most people here, but this is a public forum which is where people have and share opinions.
  11. nah wasn’t me, it was some new person that joined… i’m pretty sure they claimed it then we didn’t hear from them again if i’m not wrong
  12. I will say form what i’ve heard, they aren’t expecting to have the ride open until end of December / early January at the earliest. I’ve been hearing rumblings of this so don’t take it as 100% fact, but it could give us an idea of when it should be running again. let’s just hope the problem with one of the trains doesn’t involve the need of a new part, it won’t be open for ages if that’s the case.
  13. the news report is linked below. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cl3IgQLjO05/?igshid=Nzg3NjI1NGI=
  14. Justice League is now down for unscheduled maintenance and Scooby Doo’s maintenance period has been extended until the 13th of December.
  15. Two extra nights have been added (13th & 14th) while all the original dates besides the 8th have sold out. White Christmas seems to be very successful and selling rapidly this year, i hope everyone attending has a great night :).
  16. I think with how it’s set up now, the best they could do is release the next group of riders into the caves as the trains dispatching, not as the trains halfway up the lift. By the time the guests get to the station and sort themselves out behind the air gates, the second train would’ve just finished being emptied and even though it doesn’t seem like much, it would speed up the boarding process immensely.
  17. why else do you think newly open rides always have technical issues? it’s because they aren’t use to running under the conditions of daily operations, which is a big part of why soft openings and previews are a thing, so they can get use to daily operations… it’s not that hard of a concept to wrap your head around.
  18. no cause that doesn’t actually make sense… you cant go from running a ride not on a daily basis, only doing a couple cycles with no one on it to suddenly running the ride normally when it’s never been opened to the public before, that’s why previews are on to help it get use to the routine, causing less technical issues once it’s actually opened. It operated for 45mins before breaking down, that proves it enough.
  19. The ride (by the looks of it) only finished commissioning yesterday as staff were finally able to ride as the park was closing. This is most likely another incident of extra testing and soft opening needed, you can’t test a ride to reach the minimum amount of hours needed then open it the next day for full day operations, the ride won’t be use to it. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a ride, let alone area opening this bad in Australia, the areas certainly starting off with a bad reputation.
  20. looks like Trident got stuck not long after it opened, it still isn’t open so we’ll see if it opens again today.
  21. yeah i saw that, was just asking if anyone was down there and could confirm im glad it didn’t take too much longer to commission the ride, atleast one of the 3 are open.
  22. Trident is supposedly operating today, anyone able to confirm this?
  23. did no one else notice the pad going up the lift hill? I’m guessing the pads are placed where the train comes too close and they are there just incase someone has their hands up and hits it.
  24. a free return pass would be so much better, it’s kinda like “hey because 4 of our 5 main rides, including 3 new ones are all closed, here’s $10.” it doesn’t add up.
