  1. Footers going in at the Maloneys corner end of big dipper and some extra supports added over the last few days
  2. I'm sure a lego area would be a home run for DW. Replace two largely outdated IP's and a maybe semi-current one with an IP that is basically timeless. Plus you have the closest thing to Legoland in Australia. That being said, there is a major challenge at play with trying to work out a deal with Merlin to license the property out, which is either going to be costly or won't happen at all. Although, Dreamworks might stay in the end. With time we'll figure out what it is, what we've seen so far is speculative
  3. Best of luck to anyone who applied for a job at LPS - as long as you show heaps of energy in the interview and availability, you'll go well. I did end up getting a job as a ride attendant at LPS last year, however lockdown came into effect a day after getting the offer so unfortunately I was never able to work a day there in the end. I'm happy where I am right now though so I decided to pass on doing it again, I would rather visit LPS or any park for fun as a hobby with my annual pass rather than go there to work.

Probably this, the old maloney's corner rides had pretty short queues built to begin with (maybe like a couple of switchbacks at most) and I've never waited above maybe 15 minutes for anything at LPS that isn't the wild mouse There is room in the Big Dipper facade to house some of the queue (the stairs you walk up to go to tumble bug), but definitely something of note.

I think the longest I've waited for a ride is when I waited 2 hours for TOT about 10 years ago, and roughly 90 minutes for Space Mountain at Hong Kong Disneyland, bear in mind I went to the park unaware that it was 'golden week' around the Chinese national holiday where all the mainlanders go over which was a mistake. Compared to a few years ago I feel as if our parks have improved quite a bit with dealing with bigger crowds, and capex investment is being put into rides that are designed with capacity in mind (rivals, leviathan and probably steel taipan) compared to building shit like buzzsaw, tot, cyclone, green lantern etc. Back in the day, 2 hour waits for superman, tot, et al seemed to be the norm when visiting MW and DW in peak. Nowadays, you'd be hard pressed to find anything above 90 minutes. Obviously I'd like further to be done (designing coasters with more than 3 block zones for 3 train ops would be a good 1st step) but it's a definite improvement over how it used to be.
  8. Can confirm boomerang trains are still covered over and aren't on the track yet, however another ride got installed quickly over the week and Sledgehammer is about to be installed with the platform being worked on and the columns staged on the side
  9. Having ridden both, rampage feels more like a normal top spin than wipeout was. Ie: the flip cycles on rampage are far more intense, but the tilt cycle wasn't comparable to wipeout at all whatsoever, from memory there was no flips whereas wipeout tilted and flipped at the same time
  10. Footings for Sledgehammer are already ready to go so expect that flat to be installed in the next couple of weeks. Nothing on the site for Big Dipper has been worked on yet other than a few beams being staged on the old Tumble Bug platform, but it won't be till later in the year work for it starts
  11. Gold Coaster barely passes as a thrill ride and is on pace with most family coasters when it comes to intensity so I've got no clue why there is an age restriction that high, higher than that of DCR and honestly it's pretty ridiculous.
  12. Boomerang's track has just been completed with a few bits of catwalk left to install, and not much else work has been done on the site other than the coaster and the station platform. You can see the track peeking above Coney Island, I think it will be an excellent view when we get to ride it
  13. I bought mine as well, considering it'll pretty much have paid for itself the amount of times I'll be hopping into the park just to get spins on Big Dipper when it's up and running including on opening day
  14. Vertical construction on Boomerang has started and Bug looks basically complete

There looks like there would be 3 block zones on the ride from what I can see off the layout (the station, the main layout, and the turn after the final brake run) so I'd be expecting 2 trains to be ordered and not any more than that Even provided LPS gets less foot traffic than let's say for example MW (think the longest I've ever queued for a ride is 15 minutes for the wild mouse once), having a single train with 7 people lap around makes basically no sense from a capacity and operational standpoint.
  16. Huss rides are engineered so the key parts from each are very interchangeable. I wonder what Joylands plans to do with the Troika's parts, perhaps some parts from the Troika are cross compatible with the Breakdance they also bought.

All the remaining rides (bar Wild Mouse, Ferris Wheel and the Rotor) are relatively new and don't need a lot of work done to them maintenance wise but provided that we have evidence of LPS working on these three attractions in question (plus the amount of TLC management have put into the wild mouse over the last few years) I have no doubt the Ferris Wheel and the Rotor are getting similar treatment behind the scenes
  18. Batwing is a reasonably quiet ride when compared to its neighbours in the DC area so I don't see going to 3x3x3x3 really being an issue there imo. Provided Green Lantern has been a problem child and nearly killed people, I'd say though that we're being generous suggesting Village would want to work with S&S again on a project like this.
  19. I'm sure a certain log flume at Sea World would have something to say about that.
  20. I guess when the vaccine comes out and borders start to re-open. I had saved for a Florida WDW/SFO/BGT/Universal trip for June next year, but obviously that won't happen at that time and I don't think I'll be able to get out there until the following year at least. In the meantime though, I'll keep saving money to possibly make the America trip a little bit bigger and try to add in some more parks. Cedar Point, LA and New York are certainly at the top of the list.
  21. Here's an existing model with a similar layout to the one seen in the picture It's very similar to a family boomerang though and for what it is its a good quality ride for the families.
  22. Yep. Big Dipper is going to be one heck of a little coaster, it should easily be the best roller coaster in the country outside the Gold Coast, even then, better than most of what’s on offer up there, probably only behind Leviathan and DCR in terms of thrill. A truly elite offering out of nowhere I’d never have expected from management. Combined with heaps of new flats. Gyro swings are not everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t mind them. Kids area offers a lot for the family compared to how it used to be. Vekoma Family Boomerang is a great touch also. This is really indeed an excellent set of changes that has taken nearly 10 years to get through. These rides combined with Volare, Hair Raiser, Tango Train, Rotor, Wild Mouse being kept should be an awesome use of the plot.
  23. That might be the replacement for one of the kiddie flat rides that was removed a few months back (next to the u-drive). Spider is running on borrowed time and will most likely be that ride that gets axed. This will complete a process that was supposed to be finished years ago.
