A park this is or appears to be fairly capex light shouldn’t be spending hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars on a ride relocation just to “make it fit better”. ”MDMC: The Indoor Experience” won’t bring a single extra person through the door

None of which would be visible in the dark, which takes me back to my main point - why would you move a ride from outside to inside if you were not making use of the building? If you are going to flood the building with light you may as well leave it where it is...

@joel the key thing Alex was saying was that Maurer won’t stop providing support to customers who have bought rides that are no unavailable for purchase or obsolete. Despite no longer manufacturing them, it is still their ride and they are still the experts when it comes to that. There would be 100% co-operation on their behalf and I imagine the level of support would no different now to 12 months ago when they still were making them for the market, as like in any business - repeat customers and referral business is key.

A ridiculous idea. In what world are Motor GP races indoors? How does that make sense? What theming are you putting indoors? Will it be dark? If not, what is the point?

Funnily I really like Buzzsaw, though it was much better when it first launched and went through 2 rotations. Find the harnesses great, the off your seat experience in the vertical to upside-down transition to be second to none (must do without holding on), and it packs some great speed coming out of the roll into the dive.

My take on an Events area is It can be hired for parties, weddings, functions, Corp gigs. Ie not useful or catering to 99.9% of park attendees

A conference & events centre. Ridiculous idea. Perfect location for a dark ride of some sort to reinvigorate the park

I’d heard that some of the initial plans prior to development didn’t make it to fruition, that Could account for the differential. I haven’t followed it that closely given I’m on the GC but going off comments on here what was delivered was well under the expectation

The bowling division was sold at the beginning of the year. Ardent (soon to be Main Event) now only have interests in DW, Skypoint & ME. In senior management, from Ardent level down to DW level, there is basically no one remaining involved with the business that was in place in Oct 2016. The Ardent CEO position only became a poisoned Chalice after the incident. The question is whether Ardent wants to invest which would involve redirecting funds likely planned for the ME expansion rollout, or they want to sell up.

Something tells me that Marks’ new direction and project may show a desire to be outside the operational ground level of parks. Consultancy & project work allows your to instigate positive change without the nitty gritty of the day to day (or the stress of entirely rebuilding a theme park whose image is dirt).

That is my point. I hope some kids who have a made a lot of effort (or their parents have) gets a chance to win and it’s not given to an adult cosplayer every night. School holidays are considered to start from Monday (2/7) which is when most things are scheduled to reopen. Mechanical parts also have no concept of date and time, so telling a component it shouldn’t need replacing because it’s school holidays will just fall on deaf gears....

@pushbutton that is theme song for Trolls... it is performed by the 2 main voice talents from the movie - Justin Timberlake & Anna Kendrick. It has much more relevance to Trolls Village than it does to Superheroes. and as T-bone pointed out it’s a fan made video - but the song chosen song is still relevant entirely

I don’t know how old you are @RobMac but assuming you are likely not the target audience. You only have to see the comments on the official DW social media accounts when they’ve made mention of Trolls Village to see hundreds of people talking about revisiting or planning a holiday simply just to get there kids there. It’ll be super popular for the family market, which is there best market for them to really look after if they want a chance of rebuilding their brand and identity

@AlexB I’d make a similar assumption on the tigers escape situation, that lethal options would have be available. If a tiger is attacking people screw waiting for a tranq dart to come into effect. I just wonder who is trained and has access to such weapons. Is it security? Or Pat and his team? Do they have to ensure someone trained and with a firearms licence is rostered and on site at all times? I know this is getting a little Jurassic World and all, but do the tigers have trackers on them in case of an escape? These are questions I’ve never really considered until seeing how flimsy some of DWs safety systems and focus seems to be

July 2nd is the school holidays start - seems a logical time to having everything re-open to me

That was my hope too haha i do wonder however if there is emergency live firearms available for suitably trained security or handlers. im sure there would be a tranq gun, and I’d never want to see a tiger killed for being a tiger, but just wonder whether such a last resort measure exists

Interested to know what the “tiger escape scenario” would look like...
