It’s even more obvious they have a SBNO attraction now. In the past non-enthusiast/first time visitors would have had no clue an old ride resided in that mountain, it’s not like the tracks in the open areas were THAT noticable unless you were looking for them.

When it comes to water parks... Shade & seating > theming

If it’s part of a realignment and focus on their brand, then who cares?? 2 theme parks - 1 gate - 1 social media account not a terribly hard concept to wrap your head around

I see rides as an added bonus on night events, if you have time, then great, if not, all good. Make sure you experience everything the special night has to offer that you can’t do on a regular trading day. Obviously DCR is one to tick off in the dark if you didn’t get a chance at Fright Nights, otherwise you’ll be waiting until next October for another chance

TPG has just posted on her blog that she was informed today that Scooby theming will NOT be installed/updated in this maintenance period, it is just a standard annual maintenance cycle of the ride that is occurring. Ride theming will remain as is (i.e. non-existant) for now...

I’m ok with the location, at the end of the day there isn’t a lot a room available within the current DreamWorks area, and it’s only a stones throw from the bumper cars which is part of DreamWorks. My issue is the temporary nature. Trolls is a strong licence to use, it has nostalgia for adults who grew up during the initial release and the movie/music was a success. I’d have rather they utilise the license for a permanent attraction. My guess is it is a Xmas themed Experience of some sort to tie in with the recent straight to dvd short-film that was released a couple weeks back

He was definitely referring to an Australiana theme. im not overly familiar with the costings for other simulator style “fly through” attractions. i can see it simply being everyone sitting in the existing cinema seating watching a screen of footage sourced from cameras attached to drones flying over landmarks...

I’m not overly sure that is even the case. I don’t think the various factions within Ardent who are vying for the board have a concise and clear idea on what they want to do. Craig, no doubt, will take whatever he can get. His KPI’s and bonuses would be based purely around attendance and revenue/EBIT targets, so he’s had 2 years destroyed by what’s happened

Never heard “don’t knock it down” from me. Or from many on this platform for that matter. The reality is that the rough, uncomfortable and overwhelmingly blah ride of over a decade ago has simply been replaced in its idle state by nostalgia seekers by some ‘Disney-Esque’ themed dark coaster in their mind. A decade ago this coaster rode like a poor mans SDSC. A decade ago. The money spent to pull that mish-mash of a mountain (which literally looked like there was no structural or architectural rhyme or reason to its interior construction) would have been better spent being saved in favour of a wrecking ball...

Craig’s comments in the interview where he says unless the engineering assessment shows the ride will last another 10 years or they won’t proceed, for me, is the nail in the coffin for the ride. That would put it at what, 41 years old in a decade. I wouldn’t go on it now, let alone in another 10 years

A immersive quality family ride would cost just as much as a thrill ride would (if not more). I think it’s a chosen direction to move away from thrills are a reaction to what has occurred, at least for the short-medium term

It’s DW, we are talking boxes with screens... there is nothing wow about those announcements whatsoever as they are just a dot point list of detail-less ideas. Immersive high quality family rides sounds great, but Dw’s Idea of that is a kiddie Ferris wheel overlooking a river...
