Not without sacrificing a lane of the road there isn't... And how do cars wanting to exit the roundabout do so if there is a tram track across the exit the exit they want to take? As you can see in the snapshot I've taken, there might be room to the left & right of the roundabout, but there is zero room between the road and the hotels to fit a track

Doomsday Destroyer - reviews and feedback

Do they usually do testing off the ride? -
You're a stickler for semantics aren't you... selected slides open from 9am OR slides begin opening from 9am who cares?

There may only be one set of traffic lights now between main beach & SW, but there is numerous roundabouts, something I'm certain not aware of trams being able to navigate, so they would need to be converted to signalled intersections

Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Reopening [Dec 26, 2016]
Brad2912 replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The only poor decision they have made is opening a ride that's under their standards and well below the expectations of paying visitors to the park, and moreso, it was the lack of communication or notice regarding it.- 202 replies

They normally have walls and theming too but that's gone so I was assuming so too was the 'ambient' fog- 202 replies

And if they went to the effort of trying to make it looks like a creepy Warehouse you could probably give them a pass mark for trying... how hard could it be to source a heap of wooden crates, some spiderwebs and a few other props in the meantime? As someone else suggested, chuck some of the smoke machines from FN/WC in their to make to gloomy & creepy, maybe some kind of creepy soundtrack through that section...- 202 replies

Dreamworld reopening - the summer season
Brad2912 replied to wipeout94's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Was amazed when I drove past at 1pm and saw a definitely less than 20% full carpark, and when you take into account half those parks are probably staff cars... even the WWW towers had less than a single flight queues. Hoping it was due to Boxing Day sales and we see a big uplift tomorrow -
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Reopening [Dec 26, 2016]
Brad2912 replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Late to the party on this news as haven't been online today, so most of my thoughts have already been shared. All i'd say is at what point does brand damage outweigh the need to have an open attraction? Sure, DD is down and that was unplanned & likely unavoidable, so family options are limited, but hey, 4 months ago it didn't exist and people would have got by fine if Scooby had an unexpected outage.. operating the ride like that is abhorrent. A world class theme park, hell take theme park & world class out of it, any organisation with a ounce of pride in their image wouldn't open that or let cash paying members of the public inside. I'll also add that I'm not sure if the investment required to completely re-make all the theming that area is worth it given it brings zero return. Unless they are completely modernising the Scooby theme and elements, then they may as well start with a blank canvas which they basically now have and re-theme it.- 202 replies

Shh... if you let him believe his own rubbish he might just go away -
Good idea re: shade sails over the Storm queue with less rides there will be longer lines on Storm which means more people outside queuing

IMO BS will be last, not due to the previously resolved issues, but due to it's proximity of TRR. -

That movie was literally confirmed as existing 5 days ago, it's a working title and doesn't have a script or director or cast. Its not a DC sirens coaster -

For what it's worth I don't think the wrap colour has any relevance either. Pink is totally anti-Wonder Woman anyway. Maybe they've done a deal with Nintendo and it'll be the Kirby's Dream Ride Coaster... -

Good to see confirmation of opening, I always thought Sept school holidays was more likely than Xmas, only so to drive extra holidays/visits in the summer. Is the pink wrap a sign of a female-inspired coaster? Hmmm... -

I somehow doubt there has ever been an example of a slide being in pieces on the floor of the park when the doors open, and being constructed, tested and open to the public within the course of the day.. -

The loss of speed and height of the ride destroy MDMC (2 things that Jet Rescue does well). It was a good concept executed poorly. If it hugged the ground and was designed to maintain a semblance of speed for more than half the ride it would be a fun family thrill ride. -

My 2cents if I was a betting man... Sounds to me like the powers at be wanting to put a hold on some projects in the pipeline/reduce capex, Mark pointing out that the great work they have done to this point has been largely based on their proactive approach to new developments and halting/delaying would undo a lot of the positive momentum the park has created, and management saying "too bad, make it work". In movie terms, the studio and director had creative differences, so the director departs the film... -
Attraction in and near Surfers Paradise
Brad2912 replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Dracula's Haunted House is alright, I went about 7 years ago when it first opened, never been back, havent bothered with infinity as I've heard whilst good unless you move real slow through the place you are out in 15mins which isn't great value IMO.. havent done Ripleys since it moved into the new location, did it on holidays once long before I moved up here, it was interesting. Skypoint is great, especially at night, or in a storm. TimeZone is great. Next time I go I'll steal a trundle wheel off a primary school kid measuring their playground beforehand just so I can double check that claim for you @Jamberoo Fan.- 17 replies

Rain? Bit of drizzle early in the morning then overcast all day - perfect day for the theme parks! -
Was a fun night. Buffet was definitely well worth it! The elf treasure hunt game for the kids was great, apart from the 40min queue to pick up your prize. I thought the 'lighting' ceremony/switch-on was a let down compared to prior years shows (especially last years). They basically just turned them on. No countdown etc.. the parade also appears to get smaller each year, with elves stopping for dance routines the only thing stopping it from being a 5min parade. The snow/bubbles seemed to have been increased which was a cool addition, and I liked that Santa village and associated activities were in the Western area as it opened the park up a little to absorbing the guests. Having SDSC down though at a family event is not ideal.. All in all i'd probably put it slightly behind last years event, with only the elf activity (and the buffet) stopping it IMO from being well down.
