Got that's the worst add ever. Did they have a AWL rapid raft slide of death like Wet n Wild had?

Dreamworld - 2017 "exciting" "experiences"
rappa replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
This is not a couple rides down for their annual refurb. This is half a park walled off by temporary fences and more deconstruction than construction. Its just a really sad depressing look all over the park. Honestly the entire place other than Tiger Island looks like shit. -

So at this point I am actually thinking Dreamworld should realistically consider moving to weekend only and school holiday opening. Keep white water world open mid week, and use the side entrance to bring the tour groups in to get their Koala photos (if these haven't all moved on to Paradise Country and Currumbin). I get the opening every day to reinforce the impression of being open for business but they aren't, half of the park is closed anyway. Reduce the overheads of having casual staff working weekdays with no guests. Your holiday makers will visit the Village parks and still visit on the weekend anyway, and your locals aren't making you any money mid week anyhow. That would free up staff and money to get these refurbs done quicker or more stuff open. And on that note, why take their time with log ride? Throw some money at it right now and fast track the rebuild. It's the same cost anyway as dragging it out and just makes for a better image overall. -
Pretty common I find for jobs not to specify salary these days. I find it very annoying and silly.

Not digging up this discussion AGAIN but theme park rights usually apply to a location not worldwide.

I think that whole Wonderland video discussion is just total insanity. It's a DEAD AND BURRIED closed park. Sure some people have some lovely memories, but I can't see why there is infighting over some pics and videos of something that is well and truely in the past. I don't get the whole 'Wonderland circle' it's a bit nuts. Think people should just be happy others are talking about/interested in it. -

Whist I'm a massive copyright supporter and don't advocate the stealing of any professional works. I often do seem to struggle with the theme park enthusiast world of but hurt when non professional photos are re used for non monetary purposes... -
Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion

Wow there's a roller coaster in amongst all that shit somewhere. -
Well if it's a mechanical characteristic of the ride system it's going to always be there isn't it.

Magic Mountain is $25 for X2... just saying and that's US dollars -
Well any sound would be hidden by the subs
-
Look I'm not saying there isn't some sort of sudder from the kicker wheels but I don't think there's any sort of track shaker... Probably to do with the coupling of the subs to the floor and transferring up into the track rather than firing low frequency waves at you.

Given those large pipes have been there since around the time Shark Bay was built it would be funny if the entire structure they are building is solely to hide something they can't remove

Are you all talking about the castle que being dark? Reason for that is simple. Combination of being cheap and no one consulting on design. The que originally had 300w tungsten halogen lamps pointed at each window panel. The bounce of these produced ample ambient light for the space. These constantly required replacement so the minute the worlds cheapest LED replacement was available they 'started' to get changed out. Unfortunately the LEDs chosen were/are cheap and nasty, and set to an 'amber' they provide little bounce and thus you have the resulting dark que area. There are still a couple of the old lamps left because not ALL were replaced #budget. There's even a couple of EXTREMELY AWFUL home made modified lights up there that light a couple panels in a cool white, just gross. The whole space is one of my most hated places in the park lighting wise and it drives me nuts every time I see it. Badly needs a refit by a theatrical lighting designer... again something only Disney and Universal do, which is why their stuff looks 100x better than spaces lit by electricians.

Theres a bunch of subs next to the track... you can see them. Combined with the low jog speed of the train creates a pretty convincing effect.

Yeah two things... I'm pretty sure the company I work for doesn't have any amusement rides, in the dark or otherwise so... burn fail! second this emerging trend of people trying to out other members personal lives on these forums is not cool and won't be tolerated so it can stop now. Cause otherwise I'm just going to start banning people. -

First rule of que design, if people are bored they will damage shit... Good parks don't let them be bored Ok parks make it so they can't damage stuff The rest do neither... Great parks are of course all run by Disney and do both
-
Wow by the ratings that's a pretty poor review... hopefully they get better.
-
Look one way to ruin your multi million dollar investment is to go and install some crappy shade sails every pub and day care center around town has... So good on the park for doing something different and a bit out there to present the area well.

As a graphic it's quite nice... as a usable map, it's quite not

Wow this is getting amusing @Reanimated35 Firstly I made a typo and wrote addressES, which sent you into some carry on about sending something from another account with a typical modern reason of "couldn't be bothered" Also I think you're just plain and simple not getting it, you may just be too self absorbed for it to be possible but I'll try spell it out for everyone playing at home... 1) I'm not defending the park for selling something not quite fully fleshed out... IM BLAMING YOU for being stupid enough to buy something that you didn't fully know what it was!!! All because you need to be first. 2) I'm not saying the package isn't a special experience. I'm saying that you're pissed because they didn't make YOU feel 'special' and by that I'm saying "superior to everyone else and treated like the theme park elite you think you are" 3) I believe seeing all the shows and having a premium experience can be mutually exclusive things. I don't think you quite get that buying UTT isnt a free pass to experience everything the event has to offer in one night, with zero waiting. It's merely a different way to experience it. There is always a trade off for the paid upcharge option, whether it be missing a show at fright nights , or not getting to see the full immersive standby que at Disneyland. Otherwise it's just a real up yours to the people who don't pay for it. 4) I think you're giving yourself way too much delusional credit when you think a priority at the end of night one is to be all concerned with your notes in a debrief.
