Hiiiiiyyy I'd say Sea World actually, its got a nice little kids area, planet SOS is easy enough for a young kid to follow, and the water rides would be fairly suitable too, plus there are all the animals, which do seem a lot cooler and more memorable when you are a kid (And a young girl would probably like animals anyway). If they were willing to visit a water park, either one of the two would be fine, I'd lean more towards Wet 'n' Wild because it has a few more choices when it comes to family friendly slides.

^The problem is for the time that it is on Channel 10 make it dominate the network, so avoiding it completely is difficult (Eg those constant phone in promos) which is frustrating to those who dont watch it or want variety...thats my main gripe with it actually...That and the fact the show is full of bogans. At least with days of our lives it is in the middle of the day when most people are at work or asleep on the couch. Also, people complain when it gets bagged, but can anyone actually tell me what makes the show good and worthwhile?

Yeah, I went there march last year. The old Magic mountain looked cooler as a kid (Compared to the pretty terrible building it is in now), and as a bonus had the pedal monorail. But I mean its pretty much the same stuff, so it is good in a sense that they have freshened up the offerings, though apart from the raft slide, i think the old slides were better (They were the only things I went on). Some photos I took of the place are here: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Glenelg/T...he_Slides_.html

^Well, I just did it myself because that's the way they were in the Bucaneer Bay gallery on here. I dont actually know if its policy or not. Ideally it is better to get photos without crowds, and with local parks I suppose people have been able to do that easily because you can visit whenever, but when I was taking photos at overseas parks I was doing it quickly and if its busy you just have to make do and try to avoid people. I dont think it ruins the photo, so long as the blurs dont encroach on other parts of the photo.

Sorry to double post, but one thing I am wondering about is the acceptability of using open source photos for gallery uploads? Places like Wikipedia for instance can be a good source of photos of things members haven't managed to capture, and are generally free to be used without restriction (Though GNU licensed photos need credit to be given)

Wonder why they got rid of "Geatel" now? Why not 6 years ago?

The flaw in that logic is that the station would really be the only place with the hardware for the restraint system to work in with the control system...places where evacs take place wouldn't have a way to deal with it (after all a train could stop anywhere between from the station to the launch stage) Im assuming from Dj's description that the restraints require power to lock and unlock, hence there would be sets of electrical contacts that would touch the each car when it is parked.

Its called either a Sea Serpent Roll (B&M Use this term) or a Roll Over (Vekoma use this term) To be honest though, the layout is lacking in some places, the tophat for instance has no airtime at the top (sits at 0.6g), and the corkscrew is a bit weird.

Sea World would be the obvious choice because most of the attractions there aren't greatly affected by crowds.....Hang on a sec, we're in Feburary aren't we? In that case the parks should be quiet regardless, the dry ones anyway, so Movie World or Dreamworld would be fine too.

^Its actually your 5th post Im going by this area, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Great_Lakes_1.PNG But possible parks to visit could be: - Cedar Point, which is in Sandusky, Ohio - Michigan's Adventure, which is in Muskegon, Michigan - Six Flags Great America, which is in Gurnee, Illinois - Jeepers, locations throughout Michigan....on second thoughts maybe not. That doesn't seem like a very sincere "thanks".

Nah, its not the one that appears at Rye etc, as said earlier in this thread it is the one that lived at the Adelaide showgrounds on a permanent basis. As you may notice, it is on top of another building, and hence non travelling.

^There are none, those boards are just a placeholder until the shift to the new site happens. Now, with that problem of photos not appearing when uploaded, it seems to happen if you edit the photo details when it is still pending (Sometimes I have to do this if I accidentally forget to change the caption, which results in the caption from the last photo carrying through) Also, there are still some links that need fixing: -In "Submit your photos" in the photos drop down menu, you just get linked to the "Latest photos" page rather than the upload page. -On the photos page, where it says "Read here for more information on the types of photos we want", "here" just links back to the page you are on -On this page, none of the links on the left (except for 'your content') work properly: And, Im quite good at doing this, but I accidentally orphaned the Beach Blaster Database entry by forgetting to add a park (Belmont Park)

Just a little question (On behalf of someone else) But do people have to put prescription glasses in the lockers, or can they wear them on the ride with a strap?

^$9.70 is still quite a bit above my local chippo. I think where this rip off perception comes from is the cost of individual items in many cases, snacks and drinks and individual meal items, such as buckets of chips. It is true what you are saying about meals being not too far above many of the other fast food chains (HJ & McD are the exceptions, but then again they don't specialise in expensive products), but buying whole meals is the only way to get anywhere close the normal prices , but sometimes the quality isn't up to scratch (Not necessarily only freshness or whatever, but things like pizzas that have only basic toppings when you would get more anywhere else) or the portions aren't big enough for what you are paying. I think now though, I have come to the realisation that its better to just go to the sit down restaurants in the parks, given people have higher expectations in these establishments, quality and value is above the walk in places. Village Cinemas?

GD is my favourite, for me its the only ride at DW that really stands out.

Are you related to kid? On the topic of park music, I really wish I could get some of the music played in Marvel Super Hero Island, that was surprisingly cool music.

This thread should answer all your questions, http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/in...?showtopic=3731

TOT and Superman are the only dry weather rides, everything else runs in the rain. Only high winds and thunderstorms will shut everything. If it does rain, go on the indoor rides, see shows, or go on the water rides. If there is a decent break in the rain then rush to the weather sensitive rides. When it comes down to it, you've got 10 days there, so the odds of not being able to everything you want to are very low, just stop stressing (Two threads worrying about the rain is a bit much, you just cant control it)and have a good time.

Its a 3.2km walk to the station, which is probably something I would be crazy enough to do.

A little bit more work has been done, 4 pics are here (Dated 23/01/2008) http://www.parkz.com.au/photos/AU/Melbourn...ervation-Wheel/

Sorry, so what you are saying is that it says you can win money, but it's false advertising and they don't give you money when you do win.

^Haha, don't be that hasty, this has, from what a few people have indicated, been on the table for a while. I remember reading a comment made by John Menzies at one point that they wanted a water coaster, but needed more space, I guess this is what they were aiming for. I was expecting more of a response in this topic given this ride has been on peoples wish lists for a little while. David, can you give us a link to the stuff on the spit development.

Thanks mate, good effort. The funny thing is that neither of the given layouts on the Mack website have actually been built, so we would be getting a unique one. Im guessing the ride will start off next to the car park and head up the lift, do a dipping u turn, slow slightly through a set of block brakes, then curve down to the ground where it will reach its fastest point, keep curving up to a second set of block brakes, then from there it will go down a drop, head over a bunny hop and will splash down. By the look of it the bunny hop will have waterfalls either side like this: http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig3106.htm?picture=8 http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig1891.htm?picture=29 Now, my thoughts on this. It will be a fun ride, but it will be a quick thrill, don't expect miracles or anything, I can see this being purely something that gets you soaked rather than a proper coaster or a fully themed experience like WWF or Bermuda. That said, I personally think it would be cool if they tinkered with the layout a bit so there would be a pre lift flume section, perhaps replace the lift hill with a vertical lift. Im actually wondering whether that would be the final design anyway..they could have just pulled the layout example off the Mack website just so the application would have an example in there, rather than going to the expense of getting a full design off Mack for an application that might not even go through. It says it would be part of a "Stage 1", so lets hope this happens sooner rather than later. Its the right ride for SW at the right time.

^True, but Premier haven't managed to sell a single one to anybody, I think that speaks for itself. They are really nothing special at all IMO, they do less than a normal coaster, so why not just build a normal coaster? And anyway, how would a Pipeline coaster fit in at MW?
