Dreamworld General Improvments 2025

Recommended Posts

Dreamworld are continuing to invest in the parks longevity with improvements and refurbishments happening across the park.

All of Main Street is being refurbishment to a much more classic colour scheme. They have finally built a permanent stage after having that temporary one for several years. They will also soon be giving the roof a full refurb.

The Emporium, which I believe used to be labelled as two different stores depending if you entered from Main Street or Ocean Parade, is becoming just the one larger store. It’s getting a full refurb to suit the new Dreamworld aesthetic. Currently only the Ocean Parade side is complete, but it is utilising some of the former empty space between the emporium and Lego store.

The outdoor seating for Kenny’s Fried Chicken is being upgraded. The right side has been completed, so now it’s the left sides turn.

There hasn’t been any recent progress on the track installation for the Dreamworld Express. I asked about this and have been assured it will soon be completing the laps again, there have just been some delays.

The Fire Station has had a complete repaint.

And shading has been added over some of the pathways in Dreamland.

See, that's just beautiful. The splashpad would cop sun all day, facing north, and the afternoon sun is brutal down near humpty \ serpent with zero shelter. It would have been lovely to have some trees but they do take a long time to grow in and roots play havoc with so many rides in close proximity so the shelters are a brilliant idea (shame they couldn't be blue to disappear into the background a little more but thats my only critique!)

It's wonderful to see a park recognise a shade issue around a ride and implement a solution.

on an unrelated note - how are the queues going for Oz?

Yeah look - I hate this. They had a beautiful facade there, along main street, and they've destroyed it with modern glass sliding doors and now this. I understand the reason for it - the loss of the fountain to the flyer reduced their main street entertainment space and this is all-weather covered so it makes sense to put it here. I just wish they'd have resdesigned the entire facade to suit the new construction as it's jarring going from the double bay windows into flat blank hoarding.

At least they got rid of that god awful colour scheme and returned it to something more classic I suppose...

To my understanding they’ve removed those doors as a part of the Emporiums refurb, so inside you wouldn’t even know it’s there. I think what they’ve done is made the best of a bad situation (that was caused by previous management when the Lego store was built).

I think it would’ve been nice to have aligned the stages backdrop with the facade above, but I’m sure there reasons for that decision. And while it would’ve been aesthetically even better if they rebuilt the original facade and didn’t have this stage, I can appreciate the need for it as the temporary one has been used multiple times every day and during the night markets for several years now. At least they’ve made an effort to build something permanent that matches the colour schemes and style of Main Street.

The colour, no, too much baby poo.  There should be more contrasting colours, way too many shades of baby poo.  Every other facade on that street has a touch of contrasting colours.

1.   White trim.

2.  Move power points behind screen.  (can't believe DW are happy with it)

3. Replace the 1950's poor man's house FC cladding with weatherboards.

4.  Contrasting balustrade = good

Darker shade of baby poo balustrade = bad.

I didn't know MW was the benchmark around here.   🤦‍♂️

Hold on, I need to get this right.

MW dishes up 💩  (bad MW)

DW dishes up 🤮 (good DW) because vomit isn't as bad as poop.

Dude, you live in a world of extremes and absolutes. There is grey areas inbetween. You can be happy its not as shit, while still wanting more.

or it could have been moved 1m to the right and it wouldn't have cost a cent.

Dude, I just don't know why some people want to set MW as the benchmark, because the theme parks on the gold coast, are a very small fish in the sea.

If you're quite done putting words into everybody else's mouths - nobody said 'good DW' they just said 'better than MW' which is true. I literally said 'i hate this'.

Also - judging by Magician's post - they're not finished. (and judging by previous discussions here, they'll read this and may even fix up some of your nitpicks).

are we complaining about a power switch placed BEHIND a wall (where no guests go or look.) i mean where else do you want it? it’s behind a wall, out of guest view so what’s the issue.

@Levi the photo isn't taken from behind the wall.   The photo is taken from where guest stand and you can clearly see it.    The switch should have been moved to the right out of guest view.

considering you had to zoom in to show us that there was an issue, it can’t be that much of an issue.

Again why is MW the benchmark for DW @DaptoFunlandGuy?

Nobody except you is saying that it is.

46 minutes ago, New display name said:

Why bring up MW at all?

Because it's the 'nearest neighbour' comparison. Both parks exist in the same part of the world. We frequently chastise others who attempt to compare local parks with disney, or universal, or even south east asia - because there are different factors at play - regulation, minimum wage, transport and shipping costs are all different, etc.

So MW is not the benchmark. it is just the closest comparison of apples with apples.

yeah sorry you can barely even notice it, especially with that fence in the way. all this proves is you in fact do need to zoom in to see it.

When I was there in person I paid absolutely no attention to that outlet being there. When I looked back at the photo, yes I noticed it, but it in no way impacted my time or experience at the park and I doubt 99% of the people visiting the park would notice or have any issue with seeing it. Yes it would be better if it was completely hidden, but it doesn’t really matter. Maybe we should just appreciate (which you can’t tell from a photo, but notice in person) that they went to the effort of hiding the speakers behind the mesh screens within the stage instead of having them on show.
