  1. Past hour
  2. To be fair, the coaster did close almost a month early because a car valleying, however if Superman and Flash didn’t close as well, I definitely wouldn’t have thought they would be opening the coaster almost a month early
  3. Today
  4. It's strange how you can complete maintenance of GL ahead of schedule when you're in a situation where another ride has gone down and presumably also requires people to spend time investigating it too.
  5. Credit to MovieWorld for actually acknowledging and explaining the situation, they very rarely do that. Hopefully they don’t pull a Six Flags KingDa Ka moment on us though.
  6. Yesterday
  7. Sounds like the same thing as last year, a 3 month closure. The rides at the end of its life, I wonder how much time its got left... are they waiting for scooby to reopen? I'd imagine that these parts would be very very expensive due to the limited installations of the model, and it's back to back years now.
  8. Movie World’s new post on Superman’s extended closure does now confirm that a new entertainment offering is coming soon. This really only narrows it down now to either a new show in the arena, new musical/action show on Main Street or potentially a new show put back into the theater by WWF.
  9. Movie World have provided some insight into the closure of Superman on this post: https://www.facebook.com/100044242655297/posts/pfbid02FMhC4bN4vTYvQwZmh8GvaciD1xYKSmYRPrxcj7aWYF4DeNJE4w4SarfEAcggTxcrl/? Thanks for taking an interest in our ride updates at Movie World. We are always working hard to give the best possible guest experience! 🎢 Attraction Update! Superman Escape at #movieworldaus is currently experiencing a closure. During this time, our team are working with the ride manufacturer in Europe to build, deliver and install the highest quality replacement parts. 🤔Did you Know? This iconic attraction is one of the last remaining hydraulic launch coasters in the world, making its components extremely unique, with replacement parts needing to be specially created by the ride manufacturer. While this process takes time, it ensures that when Superman Escape returns, it does so with the highest level of safety and performance. 💚 Further Attraction Updates! Our incredible maintenance team have completed Green Lantern Coaster’s annual maintenance ahead of schedule, and we’re excited to share this attraction is now open for guests to enjoy again. ✨Plus, later this year Australia’s no.1 family coaster SCOOBY-DOO! Spooky Coaster is returning to the park, we will be opening a new dining experience and also something that will blow you away with an all-new entertainment offering to be announced soon! We understand these unplanned closures are frustrating but our team are working diligently to reopen the attraction as soon as safely possible and we will keep you updated on Superman Escape’s triumphant return date.
  10. Superman not looking good for a return anytime soon
  11. https://web.archive.org/web/20100516213310/http://media.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/news.php?id=18&newsLanguage=English Warner Bros. Consumer Products, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, is one of the leading licensing and retail merchandising organizations in the world.
  12. Last week
  13. The park are finally teasing the new ride Perth Theme Parks also posted these construction photos last week
  14. I caught the end of it a few weeks ago. Yeah, you're pretty much spot on - it's a Tiger version of their usual Animal presentations. They must have baited the pole as the Tiger was climbing it right as I arrived. The keeper was very passionate and good with the kids who asked questions.
  15. Its my understanding the essential infrastructure for the fire ball still remains.
  16. Yeah thats the spot. pretty sure the old buildings were HWSD service facilities as the EVOs were stored out there a lot of the time. Pretty sure the new building was intended for float storage or something - it's got a pretty high clearance. I had thought they'd build that next to the service facility on the grass (I haven't been to the park in a while) but Skeets image shows they replaced one with the other so the effects \ pyro area looks like it's still intact for now.
  17. The shed was built on this grassed area behind the arena, but I haven’t seen any up to date satellite images that show its full scale and whether it’s replaced these smaller buildings seen @DaptoFunlandGuy are these the buildings you refer too? Otherwise does anyone know what they are/were used for?
  18. Is it still possible though? Didn't they build a big shelter \ workshop right out behind the arena where the effect systems were?
  19. it was - as a fully electric and disability accessible attraction.
  20. Of course part of the payment was lost revenue. Some of the payment was also from the Vintage Cars that was never repaired and before people say but DW rebuilt the Vintage Cars. MM was announced and costed before the storms.
  21. Risk was not the main driver here. In a pandemic recovery period, every significant financial decision was being scrutinised. Unfortunately timing and cost played a key factor in the effects demise. That's also not to say it wouldn't or couldn't return in the future if its creatively considered essential to the new show. In that instance the reinstatement would become a capital cost to the project verse, general R&M.
  22. There would have been equivalent indirect expenses in FY24 and lose of revenue associated with this payout however. Its not a silver bullet... There would also be risk associated with the claim regarding impacts on the premium. Which they also appear to have done a pretty reasonable job at reducing their premiums in the corporate spend space.
  23. The share price a year ago was higher than it is today, I don't know where you are getting, people are getting excited from because the share price has decreased.
  24. The 5.8 million insurance payout had a positive effect on the bottom line. 😂
  25. No, people are getting excited that the care and attention the current management have given the park is having a positive effect on the bottom line which in turn will encourage them to show more care and attention to the park.
  26. It still is. Friend did the upcharge tour thing a few months back and said it's still there.
