  1. I love that they also painted the ground and painted the darker blue splash to match the rides logo

  2. Not sure how many have ventured out this year. I’ll admit I haven’t visited the event for a few years as it was kinda repetitive and just fairly unpleasant to be at/navigate. As luck would have it I was at the park for a few White Christmas nights this year and WOW what a difference. Firstly on a fundamental level crowd control has been radically altered and improved. All the sidewalks are now clear of bins, benches, silly theming, etc and provide easy clear passage behind the crowd that assemble. But even the crowds are now less because at long last the parade ‘route’ has been extended down into western town and actually starts proper at Dodgems. You get a full show and this has been advertised so crowds are spread much better rather than being forced to jam in to see a plaza centric show. As for the parade itself HORAY AT LAST ITS A PARADE. It’s not an awkwardly paced collection of mini shows that about 5% get to see. From start to finish the parade is an evenly paced constant stream of kinetic energy. Not once did I find myself with a blank street in front of me to look at. Even the sound track reflects this and whilst it has different moods throughout it comes across as one cohesive track that suits all floats and is extremely Disney like. The whole thing was just such a joy to watch. Little touches like improved exit routes post parade and an absence of that god ugly flying fairy rig just add to the experience. A job very well done by the park. I was both well surprised and impressed.

  3. I have to agree, I visited on the 20th and was pleasantly surprised at the length and the custom track. There seemed to be a lot more "snow" this year in comparison to previous years, and a bunch of new shows.

  4. NO NO NO! The parade should only be visible or make sense to the 100 or so people crammed between the photo center and the screen. Western town should be an awkward line up of floats waiting to entertain the 100 people in the plaza, and the fountain should just be floats waiting to turn around with no real atmosphere. Crowd control should be restricted to telling guests 'NO!' sternly and the whole thing should be as crowded and unpleasant as possible with random bits of crap in the way and no where to walk. That's the way they've always done it, why change a winning formula?!?

  7. As first mentioned in the VRL Strategy Presentation (07/06/19) VRTP are planning to release a new App. Whilst the November date has evidently slipped recently the Accesso VRTP ticketing site has starting asking guests to create an account when checking out mentioning some future app benefits. Great to see VRTP continuing to embrace technology.

  9. Just curious how an effect that wasn’t working being fixed and now operation equates to an expectation more effects will be left to rot fwiw fog screens are a piece of shit to keep working

  10. Same, this stuff makes me very happy to hear. I haven't even considered subjecting family to White Christmas in a long time. Hearing they've made improvements and assuming those changes are in affect next year, as an event it's back on the table.

  12. Locked this thread in the interest of stopping epics. If you have a random comment to make about something that ISNT in our major parks then post it in Off Topic. If it’s likely to get even one reply, start a new thread please.

  13. Hi All, for those that are wondering about Scooby all I can say is what an improvement. It's still not 100% but the new lighting effects are pretty good. So go down and check out the experience for yourselfs. 😀

  14. So headed down this afternoon at 4 as I figured the morning would be busy. Smart play as we didn’t wait more than 5mins for anything. We did 5 or the 6 (slides 2 and 3 are identical speed slides so no point riding twice). For those curious on queuing... the slide level is set up with numbers on the floor (think Sky Voyager). left hand side of stairs is slides 1-3 right hand is 4-6. 3 people for each slide (so total 18) are up the top at once whilst the rest of the queue line is down the stairs. Everyone is weighed as they get to the top of the stairs (Max 120kg). A light system tells you when to go (as well as the operator). All 6 slides go at once, and then generally slides 2-3 will have another cycle on their own before all 6 go again - as being speed slides the cycle is obviously fast. On to the slides (in the order I did them). 6 - first half is enclosed with some decent lighting effects and then open. Good slide 5 - fully open slide and appeared to be a little slow until more than halfway thru. I was wearing a singlet though which was slowing me down so I ended up sitting up to limit the traction. Needless to say singlet off after this one. 4 - is pitch black for the large part with a few sections of lighting 2/3 - great little speed slides 1 - good slide but found it a real punish on my back on each segment joint. Ended up sitting up as it was literally bordering on painful. All in all though it’s another positive for WWW for me and another nail in WnW. It makes WWW a far more complete park.
