  1. So waiting for MDMC this afternoon, it’s running 2 trains which was super efficient when we rode it in the AM, but now every second 2nd cycle is going out empty. When I ask why this is occurring I was told “it’s too quiet for 2 trains we only run 2 if the line is down the ramp, it doesn’t make it any slower doing it this way when it’s quiet”. hmmm... strange as I could have sworn all harnesses need to still be cross-checked, side gates opened, another cross check before dispatch. All of this taking at least 1-2 mins which could have been spend loading the next group on the train they just cleared for dispatch. so we now have 7 ride ops working and pushing out, at the most, 16 riders every 5-6mins... Even stranger, Mr Yong appears up the exit ramp and suddenly....2 train operation Immediately begins again before he’s even had a chance to speak to anyone...

  2. Probably most significant is when the steam effects were decommissioned but other than that the park has done a pretty good job of up-keeping this attraction which is unique and actually does fit the classification of being world class.

  3. On the 17th of December, Grand Gorge Falls & Koala Kove were approved by Kiama Municipal Council: Back on the 9th of July, Jamberoo's General Manager, Matt George told The Illawarra Mercury that he hoped construction on the new Grand Gorge Falls and Koala Kove would begin as soon as possible for completion by summer of 2020/21, "but there's nothing set in concrete as of yet". But we guess it is highly likely that the Splash Out area will close permanently on Sunday 26 April 2020 & Grand Gorge Falls and Koala Kove's tentative opening date would be by Sunday 1 December 2020.

  4. From all reports, Greg is a good guy, but he is also the COO, and a very hands on COO at that. I’d say the change in operations (ie increase in efficiency) is certainly related to the management shuffle, which saw Mr Yong get given a spot at the top. The place has had a major management clear out, and with said clear out comes new methods and ideas. Ironic that for the first time in what seems like 2 centuries Dreamworld is being congratulated for its operations, where as the joint down the road is being laughed at... yes this is all a dream right?

  5. VRTP kinda botched the release by publishing it to the app stores when it is supposed to be in testing. Virtual Que is only at MW currently, WNW is doing a test early in January.

  6. Great news Jamberoo fan- lets hope that now this has been approved that work commences quickly and that we see the new Grand Gorge Falls meet that surmised opening date of 1st December 2020. I suspect that this will be pretty close to the mark , although I feel that either Boxing Day or earlier in January might be closer to the mark. Exciting times though!!!

  7. Fast Track has increased again for the peak, they are trying a slightly cheaper cost ($125) for the second half of Jan. Has also returned to SW after a very long break.

  8. ^ Who doesn't love a Hot Air Balloon? - Besides, DW once featured one over their own Park logo.. (for those of us old enough to remember!) Maybe it's a nod to the past?
