  1. That’s a pretty good touch, a lot better than just plain white concrete

  2. Here's something from this Instagram Account name: Sea Crete:

  3. I’m familiar with that project as I had some connections with it. This was only a student group proposal of design ideas and concepts. The floor plan is real (but has seen changes), most other elements within the report are just analysis and design ideas. It isn’t a final indication of what the area will be like upon completion

  4. I think the fact that no park in Australia has ever bought more than 2 trains and the park that isn’t broke down the road still only bought 2 for rivals indicates that it will only have 2 trains. I expect they’ll run 2 trains for the first two weeks it’s open and then about 5 days a year after that.

  7. While this project by Griffith students does not confirm every aspect on the new area and some elements are likely to change, one interesting part states So it seems likely that the monorail is closed for good, despite my original comments/post being shut down by VRTP

  8. Here's something that I found from Griffith University: https://www.griffith.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0033/996360/SeaWorld-report-GU-13Dec2019.pdf

  9. As a thread hijack, if you haven't seen how most of "The Mandalorian" was filmed, check out the docos and webpages on "The Volume". Impressive shit, real time CGI backgrounds that adapt to the camera position.

  10. I would say Castaway Bay is a cinematic level (not so much the new expansion) and Bermuda definitely was too, but if this is the final product, I don’t think it’s halfway to being at a cinematic level

  11. Adding onto this point this is where I consider such a conversion to be marketable. Records are eye catching to the public and also to an extent overseas as well with the advent of social media and clickbait videos (see the Stratosphere rides as an example). There's a reason why for nearly 20 years, theme parks around the world were constantly trying to build the biggest, longest and fastest rides, something DW themselves participated in. DC Rivals was built up as the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in the Southern Hemisphere. While those stats mean jack shit for us who are well read on the industry, for the GP that don't know how many roller coasters are south of the equator, it makes it appear a lot bigger and impressive than it really is. So imagine Dreamworld having the world's tallest and fastest face first drop tower, as well as being the only ride of its type in Australia, the Southern Hemisphere, and just 1 of 3 in the entire world. If the conversion is found to be structurally and financially feasible, it honestly seems like a no-brainer to me, and along with a new thrill ride to replace Wipeout, makes Dreamworld's thrill ride collection almost comparable to what's on offer down the road.

  12. Maybe, you shouldn't have been on Parkz at 11:30 at night on a school night.

  13. Europa Park is reopening on the 29th of May including all 6 of its hotels. Masks will be required in all closed areas. Guests must social distance themselves at least 1.5m away from each other (there will be marks in place). Disinfection dispensers will be in place around the park and guests who has been in contact with somebody infected in the past 14 days or are showing symptoms will not be aloud in the park.

  14. I have found out for the last few months that many of the Wikipedia articles for the Gold Coast theme parks are VERY outdated. An example is the History of Dreamworld article. This article only shows the history of Dreamworld from its construction to July 2012. I, myself have been trying to update the articles as much as I can but I really have limited time. I don’t really have any knowledge about Movie World before the early 2010s so I’m just here to encourage and thank your work 🙂

  17. @Brad2912 I was referring to vortex. I definitely think we will expect all other projects to be pushed back by a year too

  19. As that’s government property, you will need to do some further investigation. There is a website/app that you can pinpoint a location and it tells you all the restrictions

  20. Definitely looks like a modified version of this concept art They originally said there would be a very relaxing on the dolphins lagoons with seating, I wonder if that’s still going ahead

  21. With the global situation happening, how much do people think this will effect the coaster and its opening timeframe?

  22. I didn’t even realise it had closed, when did this happen? Is the building still there? Im not surprised it has shut because the only attraction along that path is BuzzSaw and it has been closed a lot lately. Maybe when the new coaster opens the store will reopen

  23. It would be nice if they did remove the track from the entire tower, but for money reasons, I can’t see them doing so at this stage

  24. I think they will leave the track directly fixed too the tower because there’s not really a need to. Great to see they have already begun removing it as they said they would around this time
