  1. Visited the garden today, the plants put in are now well established. There’s very light ambient music playing from speakers back nearer the main path, and this helps to drown out a lot of park noise. As the garden drops away from the path, even Motocoaster’s noise isn’t too loud. I can’t say I’ve been here though when the east side of Giant Drop was operating, but that ride’s frequency shouldn’t be too distracting. The train is coming downhill here so isn’t loud either, despite passing by just on the other side of the path. Whatever goes in where RHLR was, I’m sure they’ll maintain a buffer, likely a natural one. The names on the seats are still there. No signs of people using it for smoking. I don’t expect to be coming back to DW until River Town fully opens, so it was nice to be able to spend some time to pay my respects. Not that I knew any of them, but it could have been anyone.

  2. I assume it's the big round white thing on the top right.

  3. If you paid to ride individual attractions at Village/Dreamworld you would see load times improved without compromising safety.

  4. I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up at Sea World where the old Vikings Revenge station used to be.

  5. Funfields - Would be good as they don't have a coaster currently Aussie World - Would be great, but I doubt it would fit in the park Gumbuya World - Would be seen as insuperior to TNT and PZ, I would rather them spend it on waterslides as they have enough coasters for now

  6. So you guys don't do the ekka then? Since a 3 minute ride time is required?

  7. In the past few years, I believe the floor of the channel was lifted (adding more cement) to reduce the depth in some places. Boats are designed to float, but their buoyancy doesn't change - so a big group of adults filling the boat are going to sit lower in the water than a couple with 2 kids. I've had a ride where it has bumped along the whole way, because (unplanned) every adult sat on one side with their (much lighter) kids on the other.

  8. I mean, Village operations are usually the butt of many a joke on here - but if you can load, cycle and unload a ride in 2:30, something is being compromised, and if it isn't safety, it's ride time. And if its a pay per play attraction, i'd like a lot more than 90 seconds from liftoff to touchdown.

  9. Every time i've been (and I tend to avoid peak periods) there's been decent queues on all the majors, just not unbearably so - eg - 30-60 minutes as opposed to 120+ down the road on the same day. The Skull was actually where Gingy's control box is currently: Prior to Dreamworks (and the relocation of Spongebob Flypants to Gingy's location) they had Reptar on top of the building. You can see how the building 'joins up' with the rest of the TOT queue. I can't get an aerial from pre-Nickelodeon, but its definitely the right spot, as that joined right angle behind the Reptar statue is where the TOT queue changed from 'plain white fridge panelling' into the deeply detailed 'sewer tunnels'

  10. they didn’t say it was new, they asked if that’s where the old skull from TOT was located there. To answer the question, i’m pretty sure that’s where the skull was originally located prior to the refurb.

  11. But the rides are going to be open for the next 20 years probably. If i were managing a park, id probably pick a a different day so the news crews come out to me and are not competing with someone else for attention. **** Also, DAE reckon its actually going to be a fair bit of a drop into the saucer. Should be a good start to that slide.

  12. Moving on, pics from today. Will they continue the rock garden decor over to the Drop? What will be done around the building’s base? just feels like a lot of wasted space if they don’t do anything, as they relocated train line frees up lots of room. This would have been the perfect chance to remove spaghetti junction as well and make an easier queue closer to the building. Something people here have suggested for years (myself included).

  13. Yeah, noticed that today EFM sorely needs a repaint. Here’s more posterity pics from today, plus more of the work that @Ogre already posted yesterday. the Po in the (former) splash zone / jumping water is where the Tower Of Terror’s skull originally stood right? Or was that near the lockers left of there?

  14. Thankyou Stevie for having the balls to say what a lot of members on this site are thinking, but are too scared to write. There is no need for you to say sorry, you have done nothing wrong. Yes, your comment may be considered to some as a little "nit picky", but it is ok to post those opinions on these boards - after all that's what this forum is for. I believe most members on this site are mature enough to understand that your comment as a whole was positive. And that you are someone who appreciates detailed theming and consistency in storyline. I think @New display name has the right idea. The logic is that the TNT inside the shed has exploded, causing the tin to deform outwards.
