  1. Although the park has been moving further into DC territory and it seems to be the 'in joke' right now, I don't see why anybody could suggest WWF would get a retheme in that vein. Short of demolishing the entire ride, I don't see it happening.
  2. VR isn't new. It's been around since the 90s. the only difference is the graphics are better, and the devices smaller.
  3. You would be wrong. I have no intention of getting VR.
  4. Particularly for members who haven't logged on in a while, and re-ask questions that were answered 10 pages previously. It's not a complaint about those members, but topic specific stuff can get lost in the vastness that is the megathreads.
  5. I'm fairly certain we will see theming on the back of the new framework - they won't be raising the old wall though I don't think...
  6. during manufacturing? Well they obviously didn't spend enough on them then...
  7. Seems a shame that they wired the two together. Surely an independent switch on the front logo lighting could have been put in without much bother...
  8. ^Just on the Wheely Adventures clip - I believe the girls weren't travelling with parents, so they were 16+ and made their own decisions. They met local friends at the park for the day. I wouldn't say Rainbows end is breaching any policies, they've simply assessed the risk differently. Risk: Skin Cancer from sun exposure Control Measure: Wear long sleeves, pants and a hat, use sunscreen. Control Measure: Never go outside during the day. Both are appropriate control measures, however one is being a lot more pragmatic. Neither are inappropriate, but obviously one more restrictive. In the event something were to happen, one could look at the control measure and determine it was adequate, but as the log ride event shows - if in doubt, its better for them to be safe than sorry - and a more restrictive control might piss people off, but by eliminating, rather than managing the risk, it is far safer.
  9. Brad, he said "is - this - not" not "this - is - not". Its a question, not a statement of fact - he was saying it was a public forum by asking a rhetorical question. But aside - I agree with you that a person saying 'it's definitely this' should be justified. I have no problem if someone doesn't verify it with actual names or proof, and I don't think people should have to PM a mod as this in itself can breach a confidence with the source.... time will show whether they were correct or not... for example with some of the statements MickeyD has been known to make in the past... but it should be said "I have a friend who works in <park> who told me its definitely <blah>' rather than just 'it's definitely <blah> without any background as to how someone comes to that conclusion... However the fact that @dmh has used words like 'views' 'thoughts' or 'opinions' suggests to me that's all it was, rather than any factual statement.
  10. Well the Buderim Ginger Factory has an indoor flume ala Small World. I guess it depends on what you class as a 'dark ride' as opposed to say - a rollercoaster or whatever. If we go with a broad meaning - Aussie World has the Rock n Roll Rebel, Scooby would class as a dark ride too. As you rightly point out - Justice League is up there. Even with broad meaning I would naturally exclude walk through attractions like LPS has, or even ZE at Dreamworld.. but then you have rides with inside\outside elements, which would expand to include Superman and Storm coaster. Of course as I said it depends on how you class it, but even with narrow definition, we've still got more than one so plural is definitely acceptable.
  11. @razza1987 - i love that you're catching up on threads, but please for the love of god edit the quote so only the bit you need is left! a DA is a Development Application... or Dumbledore's Army... depending on the context.
  12. I read something somewhere about a WB park being built in Abu Dhabi or something - near ferrari world. They're spruiking superman and batman attractions - but not sure if that would equate to characters in-park. If you read the article I posted, it refers to the Marvel license for the east coast of the US being owned by Universal 'in perpetuity' - it means Disney can NEVER have Marvel characters in their east coast theme parks... ever. (Unless of course they buy them out, which I'm sure given the current attractions in IOA, Universal would charge a pretty penny for).
  13. ^lol. Yes there are other sound stages. Some mazes could possibly be installed in the ones with fixed sets, depending on the room to move - remember that film sets need to have space for film crew, dollies, etc, so there could be enough space in some of them (pure speculation) to put a maze in - the problem, and this is the big one - is if shooting is occurring in the Thor stages, they aren't going to want a bunch of fright nights people walking past the stages - you'll notice signage all around that requests silence when the red lights are on. Of course, its only 1-2 nights per week, and with a stage they don't need to wait for it to be dark, so they could co-exist, but given the extended walk to get to the other stages - the park has other options they can look at and I think they will be able to do it rather well.
  14. Previous discussion on Superman: Of course, things can always change. Also on a slightly unrelated topic, this article is a great discussion on character rights within certain theme parks, mainly in the states, but the Marvel agreements are an interesting one... http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201307/3558/
  15. Yep - we caught that a few weeks ago when it happened... Further replies provided links to the news articles.
  16. I think he's had a big project responsible for destroying most of his free time.
  17. height requirement is very specific. There has always been a bit of a myth in terms of Superman appearing in park - apparently some guy got shot because people believed he was bulletproof. Don't know how much truth there is in that, but you never see Superman in-park anywhere that i can think of. It'll be interesting to see what we end up with...
  18. Let's hope the queueing system allows for people to look down on the loading zone and see the load process prior to boarding.
  19. Well I think dodgems is pretty well confirmed given the closure dates. I'd say Showstage is a definite possibility too, given the studios being out, and the 'new land' opening right in front.
  20. Oh wow, talk about a blast from the past! I haven't heard that name in a while! What's he saying?
