  1. Is it in that league? Yes. Is it better than Steel Vengeance? No. It does give Fury 325 a run for its money however taller doesn't always mean better. The feeling of the wind on your face at over 150km/h is great though. I feel the biggest weakness with Rivals is the helix is kinda tame as to how it could have been. It is the one spot that feels not as good as it could have been.
  2. Most of the coasters here have been new models or modified by manufacturers, Tower, Scooby, Lethal, Motocoaster, Big Dipper, Green Lantern. All of these are first of their type or customised in way they're designed. Our parks have a history of taking risks on new coaster types so a RMC isn't really much of a risk as you'd think.
  3. Once the kids and family is done I feel a Raptor, Flying or Invert would be the best options. A hyper is a bizzare choice given Rivals, sure a giga wouldn't be bad but they are expensive and still have the issue of being "a taller Rivals". Diversity is key for new coasters. Flying and Invert both are holes in the line up locally that could be easily marketed and attract interest.
  4. Sounds like they've taken lessons from one of the major parks when it comes to facts and press releases.
  5. Because they have the funding to do so and are seeing a return on previous investments.
  6. Comparing Surf Rider to Vortex is like comparing a washing machine to a dishwasher, sure they kinda do a similar thing but they are nothing alike for what they actually do.
  7. It's a News Crap article so they have to over exaggerate it somehow to get clicks/subs/outcry.
  8. Banshee at King's Island. They were still like that in 2018 when I went.
  9. Not sure how Sky Voyager plays a part in all of this.
  10. They weren't trying to recover from a major incident so they really need a few quick succession investments now and can resume the staggered additions after.
  11. Surely Gumbuya World would have mentioned how much they are investing on their new coaster. This would give a rough idea how much that coaster model cost unless Village got a deal for the new coasters and Road Runner trains.
  12. It seems a decent amount to spend on a themed area (refuse to use that horrible p word). Anyone know how much it is costing for the other suspended coaster coming to Australia? Should give a rough guide as to how much they spent on the rides vs theming.
  13. I would have thought it was shaped like that to cross the creek. Where would they build the new attractions? On the swamp? Not exactly the smartest of things to do tbh.
  14. Probably rain in the forecast for a few months shortly so closing it just to be safe.
  15. And as someone who's been overseas I can say it's quite fun too. It is a conversion so I'm more interested to see what can happen locally with a custom ground up RMC.
  16. You need to remember that there are active film studios and a loud coaster coming as close as you suggested isn't the best of ideas. Arkham caused enough issues when it was operating for productions. I have a feeling the new coasters will be lower to the ground resulting in possibly less of an issue with noise.
  17. You probably said something remotely negative about the park and were removed. The park is perfect and can do no wrong according to that group.
  18. Think the issue is the fact it isn't something fake in a theme park, it is something fake that poorly replaced something real. Akin to Movie World replacing Bugs Bunny with this.
  19. Same thing could be said about Superman at SFDK. The roll at the top is known to remove anything loose from pockets. Always fun to see a phone come loose, hit the track below before landing on the station roof.
