I don't think all hope is lost though... Someone commented on MW Facebook page asking "Why is there no Superman" and their response was "Stay tuned for some exciting Superman news this year!". Not sure if this is the correct thread to put it in, but anyway. Do you think it could have something to do with Mini-Cars? Or do you think there might be something else on the way?

We'll it appears that the VIP Pass has changed name to the VIP Magic Pass. There's nothing different, other than the base offering including entry to Carnivale. Also, they now offer the Platinum VIP Magic Pass also includes all the goodies from Gold, but also includes entry to Wet 'n' Wild Sydney for the season. Not sure how useful it would be, seeing that over 80% of the offerings are for the GC, but I'm sure some will buy it.

Anyone have any information on the VIP Magic Pass? It's just shown up on theme parks.com.au within the day and there's absolutely nothing of use about it on the site.

Hi Everyone! I have a friend coming from overseas soon and he wants to try out the local theme parks, and a part of that would be Wet 'n' Wild and Whitewater world. Unfortunately, I've never been to one of the water parks during winter, and I was wondering if you guys would be able to shine a light on what it's like. Is it heated? What are queues like? Anything would be of help!

I will admit that the performance was not perfect, but let's face it; pretty much all of us would be able to sing at the level while dancing, all without an ear-piece and in front of a crowd. Anyway, I thought that the riverboat float looked really impressive, and really changed my mind on maybe attending the event. Not sure if anyone else posted this, but the website features the menu for the event Personally, this food sounds great, if only it doesn't end up like your typical overpriced, grease-laiden food that the parks are known for. I would love for that whole Rocky Hollow / Gold Rush area to be given a cohesive theme rather than two very similar ones. If anything, I would love the Giant Drop to have a proper theme. Even something like a Western Hangman type of deal; just something to make it fit in. Unfortunately, I think we're gonna see DW get a B & M before they start working on giving the park a proper theme all around.

Overall, the whole redesign is great. I really like how the banner changes for each park in the index. Reminds me a bit of FB's cover photo system. Only let down is that the forums feel a little stale now, but thats all gonna change soon, right?

Not sure if it's still around, but my best companion for Disneyland as well as Walt Disney World was the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland or Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. I'm not trying to advertise, but the book tells you a section about various restrains around the parks (and outside), a brief description and some vital information for each ride (and whether they will be good with children, teens, adults, etc,), as well as some great tour plans in case you want to go slow, get everything done, or even do two parks in one day. If thats not around, just prioritise yourself. Not to keen on a Parade? Go on a ride instead. The queues are generally quiet during shows and parades, as well as the peak lunch time. Fast-pass is your best friend. I recommend checking which rides run out of Fast-passes quickly, and ride them first, or at least get a Fast-pass towards the beginning of your day. Take it Easy. Don't being an army general and have your whole day organised down to the minute. Make sure you have time for any spontaneous moments, such as a character meet or another round on the Matterhorn Be Prepared! Make sure you bring sunscreen, hats, water bottles, etc. before you get in the park. You won't want to miss out on some magical moments because you are waiting in line for a $6 bottle of water. (I'm exaggerating. Deal with it) Other than that, I'm done. Hope you'll have a fun time on your honeymoon, and that everyone else can share their wisdom with you!

The best examples of airtime I can think of in Australia are the hills on Superman Escape, the drop on the Giant Drop, most of the Tower of Terror II, and some of the drops on Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster. So pretty much what you said.

Both fit the context really well, but I was referring to airtime. I agree with you. Some of my favourite rides of all time would not be great if they were bare-bones, but because of their unique features and theming I prefer them a lot more

For me, a good ride has to have some airtime (preferably ejector). Its just something you really can't find anywhere but at theme parks

Just sent mine through. It was my first time voting and I was pleasantly surprised that there is a fair amount of Aussie rides on the list. Some on my list were Superman Escape, California Screamin', and Expedition Everest Edit: The VRTP fan inside me feels so happy looking back on last years poll, and seeing Superman Escape at #21, Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster at #150, and the Cyclone at #341

Any word on whether all of the former facades are going to be re-done? It looks quite odd in the photo how you have a '50s diner next to an Italian apartment block.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but does anyone know how long Sea World has been playing instrumentals of Pop Songs? It's really odd hearing Thrift Shop around the park without any lyrics...

I went over the weekend. From what I can tell, not much has changed. No Fire effects working at all, just lighting and smoke. The water dump also doesn't stop the boats as well

I would love to see a new park here in Australia.It may just be that kick in the arse that Ardent needs... I second this. The website could really do with some work. At the moment, we don't even know if the park has a single ride or even a show.

I'm so confused about what to believe about FatasmicWorld. In my eyes, this is just like one of those ambitious UAE theme parks that end up being cancelled as soon as they have started. Are you guys trying to be a EPCOT-Oz? If you are, your failing miserably. This doesn't look exciting or thrilling at all; it just looks like a giant science centre/ museum with a monorail out the back. The reason that EPCOT succeeds is because it blurs the line between education and entertainment. Your park, on the other hand, looks like nothing but education. If you want this ambition to eventually go ahead and "Fantasmagonical", look at EPCOT and other edutainment-esque parks (like Busch Gardens and Sea World) and dissect what makes them be so successful. I agree. Themed lands in most parks work because you can easily predict what the land's theme will be (E.g Tomorrowland, Sunset Blvd., New York). Instead, they've gone to the ​Marry Poppin's School of Words and went with whatever came up first.

Honestly, as much as we hate what DW has become, it still appeals to its target audience. They don't sit there trying to make everything appeal to us, as theme park enthusiasts. Instead, they aim to draw families and teenagers in with record-breaking spin 'n' spews. Personally, its not my favourite and I know its not everyone here's favourite park either, but give them credit where credit is due; they really do know how to cater for the general public.

Hey everyone, just wondering what everyone's tips and tricks about the parks are? They could be anything, from getting shorter queue times to getting the best experience. My personal (and not really that special) tip is to go on rides during show times. At MW, I've gotten a 15 minute wait for Scooby and a walk-on for Wild West Falls during the morning sessions of HSD during the school holiday period. So what are you tips to a better day out at the parks?

That neon sign was absolutely horrendous. First ride of Bermuda and I didn't even realise it was meant to be lava (having no audio probably made it even worse)! If they did have to replace, what would work well? A bright orange light and a steam/mist cannon?
