  1. Imagine the entire Wild Mouse section without knowing when to brace...
  2. I'd say for 2/3 (Roadrunner and Madagascar) there's a chance they'd say yes, simply because kids find riding motorbikes and the like to be pretty fun, regardless of what the actual ride does.
  3. Are you part of the 'family' demographic? Judging by the birthday on your profile, probably not, so don't speak for a demographic you're not part of. In fact, I think MDMC would be accepted as a much better ride if it was marketed at that audience, a lot of the hate comes from it being marketed as a thrill ride. Yes, it's a very boring ride for thrill seekers and very painful for taller people and I can agree with that, but younger audiences like it.
  4. 1. Superman 2. Abyss (have not ridden it myself but I've heard enough good reviews to put it at #2) 3. ToTII 4. Arkham 5. Jet Rescue 6. Buzzsaw 7. Scooby 8. Surfrider 9. Green Lantern 10. Storm 11. Hot Wheels 12. MDMC Leaving out kiddie coasters and travelling rides Of course this will most likely change by September this year On the other hand since we're doing it I might as well do my top flat rides, since I enjoy some of these more than many of the coasters on the list: 1. Giant Drop 2. Batwing 3. The Claw 4. Wipeout 5. Doomsday 6. Pandamonium 7. Tail Spin
  5. I was thinking along the lines of the 'highest, fastest' coasters you were referencing - TTD, Kingda Ka, Formula Rossa, etc
  6. Village Way sounds sorta normal - if you don't think about it in terms of Village Roadshow - you'll even find there's another Village Way at Bracken Ridge White Water Way is just ???
  7. Now imagine Superman with those tiny little lap bars the Intamin hypers have...
  8. What MDMC needs is a complete retheme to justify new trains. Something quadbike-y like Juvelen wouldn't be hard to come up with a good theme for.
  9. As someone who is also 6 foot 2, I understand your pain. I enjoyed it more when I was younger, however now it's one of the only coasters I've ridden where I would've preferred to get off than ride because of the pain - and I can generally handle a bit of roughness, it's just those awful restraints that destroy my knees.
  10. MDMC shouldn't be compared to anything - it's part of its own little group of awful rollercoasters along with Goudurix and Zamperla Volares.
  11. Remind me to get off the roads next time you go to work...
  12. Finally someone else that prefers Buzzsaw to GL I share a similar view - I find Buzzsaw to be a lot more thrilling. For me, the sensation of speed is something that makes a rollercoaster really fun for me, and GL just doesn't have it. While GL is a longer ride, and has the soundtrack (when it's working), it's not a very forceful ride, while Buzzsaw has the crazy speed and intense Gs you get coming back through the station which for me gives it the upper edge. That said - I'd happily take Superman or Arkham over Buzzsaw. A zacspin in the place of Buzzsaw I'd be cautious about seeing it's a very controversial ride... would probably prefer one of the S&S 4D free-spins. Back when Buzzsaw was opening I'd definitely have preferred a Skyrocket II, but now not so much since they appear to be popping up everywhere. But hey guys let's not turn this into a flame-war. It's personal opinion, there is no 'better' ride.
  13. Reading some of the things the media writes, it almost sounds like the second sometimes, just so they can get a really juicy story.
  14. Easy money I guess... the live cross was literally "you can see behind me the ride hasn't moved, the end"
  15. I don't agree actually, looking at their lineup there's nothing that jumps out at me as "oh wow our parks need that". Venus GP looks like an ok coaster but for a second-hand one nothing special (anyone know how smooth/rough it is? Those restraints don't exactly look that comfy) and Zaturn, while an Intamin accelerator, wouldn't that work at either of our major parks since DW has ToT and MW Superman (which are both Intamin launch coasters and a single top-hat one wouldn't bring anything too new to either park). If anything, I'd like to see one of our smaller parks (Adventure World? Even Aussie World?) take it. Or perhaps Sea World? Anything to fill the gaps in their lineup would work at this point.
  16. Except for the fact that he is (or was a few months ago) a school kid if I remember correctly. Could always know someone I guess - let's wait and see.
  17. I completely agree (although if a town full of zombies or escaping from Earth in an apocalypse extend this theme I'd be very worried about our futures)
  18. Gold Rush and Western are two completely different things in my eyes though - remember this is meant to represent an Australian Gold Rush, while when you think Western you think America.
  19. You're forgetting about the 'modern' Arrows. Tennessee tornado is pretty smooth from what I've heard.
  20. Honestly retheme or revamp I think that area will be good either way. Only option that isn't acceptable is doing nothing with it and leaving it in its current state.
  21. I'd say it would be, but it depends on your definition of smooth. From what I've read it looks like they're smoothening out all the tiny bumps and rattles you get, however it's impossible to smoothen out the awful transitions without tearing down track. It's going to be jarring no matter what, although it does sound like they're trying to eliminate all rattle. Buzzsaw's track has a massive rattle (the train probably contributes to that too), that seems to be the sort of roughness they're trying to eliminate on HWSW. I remember when Buzzsaw was a newer ride it was much more smoother, now it does rattle you around a lot, especially at the back. Guess that's why B&M rides are so expensive, it takes a long time for them to develop roughness like this.
  22. Sorry, what? I don't understand when I read the first three words of a post only. ??? ??? ???
  23. I believe there's a little bit of land between the two attractions that will hopefully drain the noise out a bit
  24. Hopefully that means wipeout is not far behind either.
