  1. In true broken clock fashion he's actually right about this one thing.
  2. I don't mind the low mount angle, but on the subject of stuff that doesn't matter, the videos with the stabilised horizons drive me crazy.
  3. 😂 I seem to recall that was in reference to some pretty poor speculation that was going on at the time. TPAGG still for sale though.
  4. For what it's worth the Kangaroo is Matalida that was featured in the Brisbane Commonwealth Games 82 opening ceremony, lots of photos if you google it. It currently lives at a brand new service center just south of Gympie on the new Bruce Highway. It was at a Matilda Service station on the old Bruce but got moved recently.
  5. Yeah I was about to post exactly this. 90% of next gen is putting shit back exactly as it was pre 2016. One of the things they did was put in a protection that doesn't look very good before the elevator, which from memory replaced a mirror. Like sometimes less is more, but I don't think less is THAT much more. The other bits of projection are *fine* and even without haze, the high zone looks better than it has for years, including before next gen (it would look sensational if they can get it in). The way people are talking about it in this thread would be totally justified in 2017. These days it's more or less what it always was, but with one or two bits of shit projection. Without those projectors and there's not much difference to me, and I don't think the projection drags it down to the point where it's anything other than awesome. Some of that stuff does need work though, hopefully some of that is allowed to happen this time round.
  6. You're welcome to continue being wrong about this 😊 I agree tailspin is too far away, and ST is just a no, but if it was a purely demo decision Escape Coaster and Shockwave checkout. I'm not convinced it is a demo thing though. Claw really makes more sense than anything else they have, because of the location, visibility and that it's a classic. Also perhaps I'm naive, but I can't picture vomit being that big of an issue even with the alcohol sales.
  7. Claw is a no brainer. Charge a lazy $5 for it and make it free for passholders if you want and that takes care of the give away the gate thing. Plus open the ballpit if it's not already and you're pretty well sorted in terms of target market. As well as getting people used to going on stuff again, it also gives the place an extra energy/excitement. SV makes less sense to me for that reason. Just pulls people out of the atmosphere for not much.
  8. I think what's weird about it is you've got ABC Kids land, and K&B Dreamland. Like two lands aimed at the same narrow group of guests next to each other. Dreamworks Skewed a bit older, so it's not like for like. Instead of K&B you put Bluey in as Part of the new ABC Kids World, lean into Tiger Island and the Asian theme being complementary and give the wider area a Wild Asia theme and it kind of works. I can see an argument for 'Change it doesn't remind people of what used to be there' but to me that makes more sense. One other thing I'd say is IP lives and dies by how good it is. You don't need to have seen a single Indiana Jones movie for the ride to be awesome, same with Scooby, same with Twilight Zone. When the IP is the springboard to make something good, then it doesn't matter what the IP is. When the IP is just a sticker that adds nothing then it's pointless. Mick Doohan and Hotwheels are both great examples of this and the park is much stronger for letting them go IMHO. The thing about K&B is that it kind of is an IP, just it's an internal one that no one is familiar with, certainly won't drive attendance. Are they being used to do something cool or is it a sticker? If it's a sticker, honesty you'd be better off calling everything from Escape to the F&B outlets 'Central Plaza' and just making stuff look charming. If there's a creative thing where it's K&B corner of the park and it's where they live like with gumtree houses or something to tie it together it could be good. I don't know what they have up their sleaves, it might be good. I'm also giving them the benefit of the doubt that Serpent Slayer isn't finished yet. That has more to do with being an eternal optimist rather than anything I've seen so far though.
  9. I feel like drinking that much Kool Aid isn't good for you
  10. This would actually be the one time where the word 'precinct' would be preferred. I'd still not like it, but I'd like Wiz Kids less I reckon
  11. Than a feild of white gravel? Yes all those things improve the aesthetic. Totally unthemed, as is, would look better than what is there currently. Wouldn't have been much higher towards the end. One train with 20seats, and a more iconic ride overall. No, I never claimed it would. YOU claimed it would have a cohesive theme if plonked randomly out the front, so you can't play that as well. As it happens, I actually don't think it's that important in this case. Batwing works perfectly fine just being a ride. Surfrider would too. While we're on Batwing, do you think it makes GL's queue longer? It's Interesting I gave you the crowd control argument and suddenly it's a key point, when up until then it's pretty muxh been all about the skyline looking cluttered and aesthetics. FWIW it doesn't solve the issue of the park being front loaded, which could have been a good point if you chose to make it. What they're doing makes perfect sense. They're adding extra capacity by adding a small ride to a small plot of land which won't do much for attendance. If you personally think it would be better elsewhere because *reasons*, sure. But nothing you've said is really selling the idea. Just to end on something i agree with; while I don't do the whole 'credits' thing, I agree with you on this, and Nemesis v RMC conversions. Same also applies if you went all 'Coaster of Thesus', that wouldn't count as a second coaster either - Even if all the original parts were put back together so their were now 2 coasters.
  12. I find it curious that I responded to the first thing you said first, and you took that to mean that was the bit I was upset at? It's kind of telling that you call me an elitist, I deny it on the grounds I don't know who you are, you could be someone very important for all I know, and ALSO mention that it can't be a moderator thing, and you've somehow used that as evidence. It's all pretty telling TBH Do you really think plonking out the front is giving it a cohesive theme? I can almost guarantee you put it out the front you'd get a round of 'Great another carpark coaster' Also in your mind how would you even access that? Do you knock down the toilet block/photo center or stars or none of these or all of these? Like you haven't really made much of a case for why your ideas are better, it's that they're just different. You're irked because in your mind two rides with clash and that you know the smart thing they could have done but then failed to identify the smarter thing. See this is actually an interesting point in the scheme of things, but let's face it, it's MW. It's filler. The biggest thing it does is adds about 1400 rides a day to the parks capacity. 1400 isn't even much but since it won't really affect attendance you would think it would be a help overall. You could make a compelling point that it's more stuff at the front of the park which will do nothing to spread the crowds out; as much as it's filler perhaps if you could somehow squeeze it in the Villans land it might draw more thrill ride crowd up the back to use some of that the spare capacity that Doomsday has. Perhaps 2 filler attractions are worth walking down to the end of the park for, 1 is not. You could have said that and it would have been an interesting discussion. I would potentially agreed in part, while still saying I prefer Superman's helix and listed why. But instead you went with 'Grrr bad! I know what's best! These are solutions to a non problem which only I have!' Again, I'm strawmanning you a touch, but come on dude, of course you got called out.
  13. Yeah agreed. Unfortunately I think you could trip over and land on a better name than Wiz Kids. Oz. Land of Oz. Merry old Land of Oz. Wizard of Oz World/Land. I don't think it should have a name that is a pun which only works one way. The only way this makes sense is if the trailing 'Kids' is how they want to name Kids lands in the park (WB Kids & Wiz Kids). Even so not a fan.
  14. Hmm not sure how I feel about that. Hopefully just a working title. How about Wizarding World of Oz? 😁
  15. Whatever chance you had at being right died a quick and sudden death with that. For all I know you're Clark and secretly you're unhappy with the placement but your hands are tied and this is how you vent. It's unlikely, but arguing elitism is both untrue and irrelevant. Also see earlier when I said Slick's thoughts on sending SR to SW were incorrect if you think it's a moderator thing. By insider scoop do you mean the publicly available concept art of family coasters with what looks to be a farm theme then sure! Or maybe it's themed to where Dorothy meets scarecrow. Possible, but the more obvious answer tends to be the correct one. WWF isn't filler, so that's kind if a non argument about filler rides in far flung corners. The thing is the ones you did mention have their own problems. That'll be true of anywhere. I think a small ride in a spot where only a small ride can go makes a crazy amount of sense. I'm slightly strawmanning here, but your argument almost seems to come down to 'I'm not used to seeing it there so I don't like it' QFT
  16. Yeah because being bordered on 2 sides by white sheds is so aesthetic. The exposed white gravel adds so much to the aesthetic feel of the park. That's a really good idea! I think a shuttle coaster themed to the storm would be a good idea; kind of like being blown around by the storm. I think you could improve the idea by making it a family coaster. Maybe even dueling family boomerangs for a bit of extra capacity, particularly as the IP skews young. Yeah look it makes zero sense adding a ride with a small footprint into a small area that they've had their eye on to add a ride to for a very long time. They should do what you said and put this filler attraction out behind a building in the middle of nowhere, since as we learned from Doomsday, spread out filler is such a good idea. Boo! Hiss!
  17. Are you aware that you're calling them out for something completely bullshit that you made up?
