  1. Back right corner of the non-spinning train is the best seat, in my opinion, on Steel Taipan. Greatest forces on the spike, first corner, coming off the MCBR, heartline rolls.
  2. With throughput so poor, people need to do something. Why not have them browse high profit margin surplus stocks. That idea probably earnt someone at VRTP a raise.
  3. Both water parks would have to get the water back within standards range as well. All that debris and rain water will have thrown the balance out.
  4. Could be damage to specific electrical infrastructure at White Water World. It could also draw from a different grid to Dreamworld.
  5. Middle of the day session booked out already. No way I'm getting up at 3.30am on my holidays to make that early session.
  6. Beetlejuice 2 is due September 2024 too. Michael Keaton back as Beetlejuice (I hope he's still waiting for his number to be called at the beginning)
  7. I was considering buying passes as Christmas presents, but the prices were too high to get five. All recipients live an hour north of Brisbane too. Loosing the events they'd probably not attend anyway, has this back on my radar. Visiting at the peak of peak also doesn't appeal either, so I'm sweet with the block out dates and $200 saving.
  8. So there's been a bit of discussion on the ride building and its location. I haven't gone back through it all, so this may have been discussed already. Looking at these photos, to me the placement of the ride building blocks the view of the out of place Sky Voyager design from the ride and more traditional designs of the entry building, the shops under the shade, restaurant and ice cream parlour, from the new ride. Is it the best solution? Probably not. Sky Voyager should have better fit Dreamworld. But the new ride requires a building for its equipment, so this is a solution. Viewed from Sky Voyager looking back towards the Claw, it probably fits in quite well too.
  9. This isn't the construction plans though, just a site plan for workers for evacuation routes etc.
  10. You'd need a second person for reversing movements with passengers.
  11. Is it covid issues, or a back log from the covid slow down combined with the higher demand for new cars during the slow down? My understanding was many manufacturers slowed down or stopped production of items like computer chips, which caused the delay. Then everyone wanted a new car because they had surplus holiday cash they couldn't use.
  12. It just feels like transplanting a new engine into your car and not replacing the clutch whilst in there. I guess the park has so many coasters, keeping the ride essentially how it was won't matter.
  13. So it's just a straight spike for the reverse section. Alot of effort for a missed opportunity to fit a twist in it once it's lost some speed.
  14. The door is after unload, where the train can be stopped. So it's failure wouldn't affect launch (if unload is clear of a train of course). It's failure would prevent the move from unload to load.
  15. From the various post comments I've read, I'd estimate the majority of people have seen through their marketing BS. The loss of Greg and his microphone to Dreamworld seems to be having an impact down the road (in my opinion).
  16. People Arguing Ridiculous K Z Fill in the blanks
  17. Cost vs benefit. The rest of the track and tunnel was easier to access to remove, and improved the general appearance. The station is large, complicated and somewhat restricted to access. The over run tube is also close to the tigers. Small benefit to remove against a large cost. It's possible the building is slated for a future use too.
  18. I put that suggestion in the "win a gift card" survey emailed to me after my visit the other day, so if they do, make sure you collect royalties for the original idea
  19. Saw the "innocent baby and adorable puppy killing" wall for myself today. It's not that bad, I don't think most people will care, especially when there's an excavator visible inside it, and the access gate to the area is black mesh. Would be good to see some wayfinding, promotions or other signage on it - missed opportunity to market attractions etc. Or as suggested elsewhere here, let some pro graffiti artists do some Dreamworld art work on it. Park was basically empty being a Tuesday. Steel Taipan was running the spinning seat train and was going around almost full but no queue. Gold Coaster was struggling for guests, my ride had 4 passengers and was rough as - seems worse when it's emptier IMHO. Claw about 3/4 full. The Flier is really going to liven up that area with movement. I've never ridden anything like it, but I'd probably give it a go when it opens.
  20. I miss the old Screamworld Friday nights. I definitely make the trip down for one of those.
  21. OK, lazy typing on my part. Is ST open normally on a night market evening? I'm on the opposite side of town, so will likely never attend. I was sure there had been discussions on how poor it was having the big ride closed during the markets.
  22. So it is open for night markets? I got the impression it wasn't, and old mate was trying to be sarcastic with the "they can open..." comment.
  23. Who said they couldn’t? They’ve run rides at night heaps of times Wasn't there the usual carry on on here a while ago about running Steel Taipan for an upcharge during the night markets?
