  1. We all saw it, your the only one that bit
  2. It will be mothballed until rocky hollow reopens, otherwise it runs through a lot of nothing from the animals back to main street.
  3. Of course. But I believe the whole reopening has been planned out carefully. The big rides draw the crowds, but could be seen as poor taste in being available first day. Have the family rides open looks better, even if some where more complex to inspect than say TOT2.
  4. Thinking like the media or general public, it's a separate park and different rides. Plus the distance helps with the apparent separation. Don't forget the image management people will be calling the shots, it's all about a positive reopening for the park. I'd suspect even the staff evening falls into that. 7 news hardly focussed on the incident tonight, it was more about the good things the park is doing.
  5. Image. A similar water ride on reopening day probably not seen to be in good taste.
  6. Lots of loud noisy rides and screaming people probably doesn't fit with the concept of the weekend.
  7. Each step would be possible to do, having all steps happen in series would be where the difficulty lies and is how I interpreted the article @Brad2912 has linked to.
  8. We enjoy them, but a few tips, be early to secure a park close by, if weather is dicey or you want to sit, get a table early and have one person always sit at it. We spent about three hours there (and $200) between four of us a few weeks ago.
  9. Sounds like Eat Street Markets in essence, plus some small rides.
  10. Depends on what level the loss of staff came to. New training schedules and then the training itself may be need to occur.
  11. Unless there is a specific issue with the Baldwin, I'd expect to see it running again, otherwise every other heritage steam locomotive in Queensland would be stopped too. ARHS and QR are running their trips this weekend, QPSR next weekend so I don't think that will happen. You would expect all operations involving the public and any risks (even well mitigated risks) will come under closer scrutiny over the coming year or so.
  12. "could you send it to my PO Box please, my mail gets stolen a lot "
  13. Perhaps an emergency release button in addition to the interlocking, for the fire scenario.
  14. Sadly it hasn't stopped them up my way, a housing estate built up 2 metres in a flood basin. Glad I don't live in that area as the roads will go well under.
  15. Stupid quote box bug I'd expect after Christmas as well. You wouldn't start a job like that at this time of year, to only have staffing issues etc. Easter is mid April in 2017, so perhaps do most of the work in between the two. The tender having closed in late October also points to a January start in my opinion.
  16. Th13teen has/had a staffed locker room, you got a wristband from memory .
  17. My thought is that it will physically remain until the completion of the inquest, as sites visits can occur in the process. After that, clear it and move forward. I don't expect another water ride to go back in its place. As theme park fans, we should keep on dreamworld about the cottage and it's preservation though.
  18. Other thread, decommissioned was the word used by the CEO in a quote from a release .
  19. My boss has passes for his whole family, said they'll be taking the refund option. Like many, they are a bit too shaken by this.
  20. There is one of sorts in a thread about the park on TPR
