  1. I'm with you TPG.. so is it the same re-hashed menu from last year at MW or is there some new options?
  2. I'd imagine the Aquaman filming will utilise the outdoor tank quite considerably, so it will be I nteresting to see how that plays out with construction right nextdoor. It could be that studio $$$ may see the start of clearing/construction delayed
  3. Awesome, does that mean you'll leave now then. Please.
  4. Currumbin Wildlife Santuary has the Blinky Bill licensing rights these days. Would be a good fit for PC if it ever becomes available again
  5. Clearly the thought of being 'ruined' (??) is less important that the time investment to click on the back arrow...
  6. Clearly it's been having some consistent issues, so makes sense it's going offsite now to rectify it
  7. Well technically it was last month.. I wasn't there Xmas Eve so my apologies, but on my 3 visits in December (early, mid and A few days before Xmas), Shaggy & Scooby were in the parade on a golf buggy - no van.
  8. The van hasn't been used in the parade for about a month or so, so I'd say there has been an issue with it for a while. My understanding is the park has in house mechanics who also work on the HWSD cars so it would be probably then just a tune up to see it towed offsite
  9. Maybe it's going to SeaWorld to sit in a garden bed for photo ops... Credit TPSN for the photo...
  10. The GC theme parks have delegated authority to works within their gates which means council doesn't need to sign off on the plans, nor is there public consultation periods. They obviously still have guidelines with height/noise that may require council involvement/approvals. Its not out of the realms of feasibility that VTP could contact a few manufacturers to find one with an opening, purchase and we have a ride or 2 in 2017, especially if all we are talking about is flats to get the ride count up
  11. Well that's exactly how it's currently operating, and there is nothing to say it will be a long term problem. I'm sure the will close as soon as the holidays are over.
  12. You wouldn't re-open a ride with a temporary name, from a branding point of view that's just Stupid. Then re-name again in a few months? Nope. Ive seen nothing to suggest we are losing Scooby as the theme for the coaster, despite personally thinking it wouldn't be the worst idea. But if it was to change, the signage just comes down in the next maintenance period when the theming is installed
  13. Whilst I don't mind the idea in theory, i have a couple of stumbling blocks.. * ME would require a separate gate, which whilst no problem, would bring to the head where that would be, given initial plans for the southern side of Foxwell opposite to the town centre already includes an entertainment precinct leading into a new gate for DW. This precinct could already have AMF/M9 earmarked. *i can't seen Ardent bringing its flagship US brand to Australian launch in the GC market. All previous AMF launches & concepts have launched into the Sydney market. It may also be too soon for them to want linkage with ME and DW, for purely US brand image reasons. I doubt any media coverage in the US of the TRR incident mentioned Ardent as owners, but had there been a ME centre next door I'm sure it would have been made, especially with the US sensationalistic media coverage * would a new concept entertainment venue next door not cannibalise some of DWs market, especially amongst families? I believe it would, especially in the short term given it would be viewed as a 'safer' option, id love to see an ME on the coast, but if it's going to happen I think it's far more likely in 2019-2020 after stage one of the town centre is opened and the surrounding precincts are being completed
  14. So it's pretty much business as usual like most days for the past month or so... nothing makes guests more happy than seeing a ride continually cycle for 3 months that you can't ride...
  15. Yeah. AHS always comes up as a good potential maze every time this topic is raised. Given its popularity I imagine the rights may be prohibitive either by cost and/or the creative team behind the show not wanting to give a park on the other side of the world creative freedom with their property. I'd say MW would have had a stab at securing them previously, and were unsuccessful given we haven't seen it.
  16. Great observation.. on another note, Fire Machine was awesome! Great concept and really well done. On another side note, can a mod kill this thread or just rename it to Dreamworld, as it's become a "anything that's happened since re-opening weekend" thread.
  17. I think today is perfect day for late attendance. Hang over from last nights worn off, beautiful warm night, Billabong about 80% full. Good luck any kid paying attention to this... Given the heat lately, maybe paint it at 9pm, it will dry by the next morning..
  18. Just sitting in Billabong Restaurant at the moment, our first post-TRR trip to the park. It is oddly quiet without the roar & screams of TOT2/GD, a decent crowd still in the park from what we noticed walking from the entry down to eat. Looking forward to a chilled out night and the Fire Machine finale. Lego store coming along nicely, and the big tv out the front shows they are going to every effort to ensure any visitors are aware of what's open before they head up the stairs..
  19. There is no major consequences, they haven't broken a law. The worst repercussion would be expulsion from the park, but the person has already left... a banning from future attendance would be overkill..
  20. All that means is there will be less casual hours available. Whilst casual employees were paid there average wage when the park was closed, that would no longer be the case now it is opened
  21. This my friends is a clear example of the failure of our education system..
  22. Better than their WC page which listed SDSC & DD as open rides even up until the final night, and had countless spelling & grammar mistakes
  23. Guess that depends on how far along in testing it is...
  24. Email from VRTP today makes the assumption it's now open..
