  1. They are relocating it to the back of the park next to the vintage cars, putting a Perspex space shuttle encasement over the seating and naming it Mars: Expedition Wipeout.
  2. The issue with a roller-coaster in that location is the close proximity to the residential area. It is literally about 150-200m from the WWF queue house to residential streets. I think there may be some issue surrounding noise complaints etc were they to build a coaster there. WWF has sound barriers/shields on the final drop to deflect screams but you wouldn't really be able to do that on a coaster where people naturally scream the entire ride
  3. I understand your point Flea regarding the size of the footprint for WWF and the fact your could probably fit 3-4 other rides in it. My point is WWF is not in a state of disrepair, as LTRR was becoming prior to the closure decision. You would be closing a ride that is still popular with all demographics. To replace it with multiple new rides would cost a heap of coin (demolition, levelling of the land & site prep would probably cost over $10m going off what SW threw out there for Storm construction), and that's before you even looks at building a ride. If they could only afford to build one ride, then you've cleared a massive amount of land which would look empty with one ride in it. Then you have to consider time - easily 12 months - of removing another family ride from the park. I don't think replacing it is a good idea, but I also don't think it's feasible either. I'd rather they spend a couple million $ and spruce up the timings and theming back to opening standards, maybe extend the dark section after the backwards drop to a haunted mine theme by enclosing some of the current outdoor track and but a new lease of life on the attraction.
  4. No way they would get rid of WWF. It's the last true family ride in the park! And their only water ride.
  5. We don't. In fact it seems no-one knows the who what where when or why when it comes to Wild
  6. There is not even firm confirmation that the Wild concept as it was even exists anymore
  7. The mountain stood until the development of Kung Foo Panda land. It was where Pandemonium now is.
  8. When was a Soarin' clone advertised or hyped or promised for MW?
  9. Guess it's better than nothing. Would have like to see them more seamlessly integrated into the exiting facade.
  10. Didn't old Sydney town close down many years ago? I no longer live in Sydney but that's what I had been told by a few people when suggesting a visit
  11. Given there was no historical financial reference or basis for their profit forecasts, it's not suprising that it was well over. Most companies opening a new venture tend to be cautious in first term/period operating forecasts for revenue and profit - it looks better for shareholders and the consumer to smash targets than to just limp over the line or miss. Better to underpromise and overperform than the opposite.
  12. at $33,000 for a one year acting course, maybe the students are paying off their fees by doing stunt work and jumping off buildings?? haha
  13. Was about to say I've never been more wet on a ride than when I got off Battle Boats at SW. It could have stormed the entire time we were on the ride and I couldn't have been anymore drenched Snowy River Rampage in Summer mode was a drencher as well
  14. Was shelved last year, no word if it's still on the agenda for the future but seems unlikely
  15. They have finished upgrading for the Coroboree section.
  16. Arkham has always been audible for me
  17. Appears to be random. I'm still 0 music from probably 12 rides
  18. Facebook has given all the whingers in the world a voice when they don't have the guts to: A) Speak to a supervisor/manager on the day; or call the guest services line and escalate the complaint. Go to any business/company FB page and you'll find complaints. It's what people do. You'll also find plenty of positive feedback, but in human nature it's the negative that sticks out to us and draws us in. No ice? Maybe the ice machine at one outlet broke down and required parts not held on site??
  19. Only ignorant person I can see is you 'Love Theme Parks' and given that your first and only post on this forum is to jump to the defense of another first time poster on a 'loose' proposal with no real facts and figures, I'd hazard a guess you are either someone connected to said project, or an easily excited fanboy/girl who is still waiting for the Disneyland 'proposal' in Sydney to come to fruition.
