  1. Whilst I agree it is not 'new' and really just a re-jig of a previous attraction, I believe this attraction will be bigger & better than AVPX. Guess we'll wait another 6 weeks and find out
  2. Think the name is a little cheesy tbh.... Oh well. As long as the attraction is first class the name means very little
  3. Every ride needs downtime for maintenance. November is off peak and just before Xmas - no better time to have it down. There are at least 4 rides at DW that are more intense than Cyclone
  4. There is only so many Halloween themes that can be done across a theme park. I wouldn't be complaining because no matter what theme was chosen it would have been done before in the US Given 99% of people who go to Fright nights would never have attended Universal's offerings, it will be a first and unique experience
  5. From my experiences the last 3 years there is no difference between the nights. Only thing that changes the experience is the weather. Last year we waited in a crowd for 45mins in driving rain just to get down the path to get to the mazes in the sound studios. But Goodluck picking a good weather night 1-2 months in advance!
  6. Well SW's major market is families (and international tourists) so the polar bear cub will be extremely popular. This allows them 2 major drawcards in successive holiday periods. Smart move IMO. Oh, and if the availability of Cyclone is a determining factor on your choice to visit DW - you're focus as a thrill seeker is in the wrong direction. I'd rate TOT2, GD, BS, wipeout, the claw & pandemonium as more thrilling than Cyclone.
  7. ??? It's going to Adventure World?? No ride is going? Or do u mean opening? I'm confused... If you don't know what ride is opening, or where it is going - why are u so certain you want to go there?
  8. On one page it says 10:30, another 11pm close
  9. MW confirmed on FB that they will be 2 of the mazes this year
  10. But u have TOT2 and GD which are unique experiences. BuzzSaw which gets a bad rap but is a great ride if you are not expecting a full circuit coaster. The Claw is also my favourite non-coaster on the Gold Coast. I personally prefer WWW to WnW, no where near as many slides but for me the quality is better and a lot less people. Personal preference though. Given access to WWW is only an extra $15 on DW tickets and you can walk between the two it's makes the ease of visiting 2 parks in a day a plus. MW DW/WWW SW WnW Would be my order of preference. All in all just buy both passes.
  11. Of course they do, I guess I just Would never be bothered leaving a park to get food. If I am making a decision to spend a whole day at a park, I accept that part of that day out will include purchasing overpriced food
  12. Usually begin announcing mazes 6 weeks prior. So late August I'd say
  13. Given the age of the structure - it is plausible that asbestos could be present. As long as it is not damaged or broken, it can stay there forever without impacting the public. If true you'd certainly need to close that section of the park during demo for public safety concerns.
  14. That's called perspective... It's looks even smaller from Mt Tamborine...
  15. Cruiseshipfan - you are entitled to your opinion. But some of the things you are saying are just plain foolish. Explain to us how you were forced into living under Islamic traditions at school. U had to pray? Refrain from eating pork? Fast for Ramadan?? What a joke. No government school in Australia is religiously run, so unless u were going to an Islamic school you are lying through your teeth to try and give clarity to your flawed argument. I went to a high school that was 94% Asian demographic, I was not forced to pray to Buddha, consume Chinese cuisine or celebrate Chinese New Year. This was also an area where my parents grew up that had 0% Asian demographic 25 years earlier. I really think you have a negative opinion on rational interaction and assimilation into society.
  16. Nothing particularly relevant to this forum (I.e. nothing else re:attractions or rides)
  17. Some of the companies under the Ardent umbrella got a brief on upcoming events/attractions across the business earlier this week.
  18. Can confirm this is certainly still a laser skirmish attraction. As is well known, the theme is zombie apocalypse. Will be a old western style theme.
  19. VRTP would never close the book on more theme parks - just comes down to feasibility. Cannot see another 'movie world' as such opening, to be honest cant see another fully fledged theme park opening any time in the next 5 years at least.
  20. That's journalism for you. Headline grabbing so worth an article. But not important enough to actually research it.
